You can find Alex on Instagram and Twitter @ActionHarris. Matt is a terrific artist that you can find on Instagram @no_wheres_ville. Tim can’t be found on social media because he doesn’t exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIPT Movies crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com, or you can find them on Twitter @AIPTmoviesPod.

Theme song is “We Got it Goin On” by Cobra Man.

EP 44 The Meg - Shark Pigging

EP 44 The Meg - Shark Pigging

We investigate how a combined Meg-Jason Statham fusion would work as a pet and almost manage to make a coherent episode:

    • Can you milk a cow shark?
    • How exactly, do you grind cheese?
    • Can you use Jason Stratham as a grinder?

And yes, we pronounce Jason Statham's name with an R because I once heard someone say it like that on the radio once and it got glued in my brain. It's science. Statham science.

Ahoy there, welcome to this super advanced research station.  Now we could make a joke in poor taste about submarine disasters, but we'll let the movie do it for us, as the guys discuss "The Meg". On this episode, Eric doesn't fall for dolphin propaganda. John marvels at the majestitude of the megalodon. And Richard will read a book. Episode 196: Good News Everyone!

    Episode 196: Good News Everyone!
If that headline doesn't give it away, then you are listening to the wrong podcast, hehe. GTA6 is finally announced, but don't expect to hear about it again for quite some time. The Nintendo Switch is getting hit with a lot of yesterdays games, and you know what, that's ok, cause its getting some new ones too. Meanwhile, expect the super bowl to have a ton of teases for future entertainment, including Amazon's Lord of the Rings, and Disney+ says screw it and finally announces the release date of Kenobi. Also Lord & Miller gush about MIB 23 the movie that never was, the Oscars half snub DUNE, and Tom Holland is just trying to play every PlayStation Mascot at this point.

"The Meg" | Put Some Respect On The Shark!!

Papa D geeks out as he introduces Angie to B-level Jason Statham movie, "The Meg". Angie agrees that this was a fun, complete movie, and Papa D (shark fanatic) details some of the specifics you might miss on the first pass-through. Both hosts strongly disagree with the low ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, and they discuss what The Meg 2 could be about!

We're Trash! (Or, Trash Movie Favorites)

We're Trash! (Or, Trash Movie Favorites)

How do you define a trash movie favorite? Is it a movie so bad it's good? Is it a movie  the world collectively loathes but you have an ironic love of? Or, is it simply a moving starring Nicolas Cage?

Hannah & Suzanne get into all that and share their 3-ish trash movie favorites.   This episode also contains copious references to the podcast "How Did This Get Made" and flirts with fair use policy. Be cool, guys. Be cool.

THE MEG: How Cinema Influences Conservation

THE MEG: How Cinema Influences Conservation

    WELCOME BACK!

This week we're looking at how cinema influences our understanding of conservation issues and wildlife. Is it good? Bad? Do filmmakers have a responsibility to remain factual when creating entertainment?

Using "The Meg" as a case study, we talk about the vilifying of animals, "the Bambi Effect",  and whether or not the Jason Statham is a good marine biologist.
