Unlocking Mental Prisons: The Power of Asking Ourselves Questions

Unlocking Mental Prisons: The Power of Asking Ourselves Questions

Hello my friends, I wanted to share one of my daily practices with you today, something very simple, that you can literally start doing at any moment, any time, anywhere and it can start to make you feel better, shift your mood, the atmosphere around you and change your entire outlook on life...and that very simple thing is asking yourself powerful questions. Dr. Edith Eger, holocaust survivor, psychologist and therapist writes that her experience in Auschwitz was hell on earth but that the worst prisons by far are the ones we build in our minds. She says the foundation of freedom is the power to choose and asking ourselves questions is one way we can start to open the door to freedom and choice.

A Love Letter from Your Future Self

A Love Letter from Your Future Self

It's Valentines Weekend and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share an exercise that we've been doing in my Mastermind for Creatives where we help ourselves as we practice believing new things and creating new thoughts by writing love letters to ourselves from our FUTURE selves. I do this as part of my daily morning routine and I model it for you here, teach you how to implement it as part of your own practice, and share an audible love letter TO YOU today...that will hopefully help you to really know how precious and valuable you are today.

FMQ 270 Time for a treat and success

Time for a treat and success

What would happen if instead of waiting to complete something your doing before you congratulate yourself and treat yourself for the achievement you you did in in the middle as well? Counter intuitive? maybe but it works and it works for everyone in any context.

    That's a BIG statement Cloughie

Not really cos it does. Don't just trust me 'The Artists way' confirms this too as well as many more example.

In my life it all started hearing about dolphins, I've mentioned this before but stay with me if you listened to that episode (and if you haven't then maybe you should and success will be your starting point) because adding this as a ritual to you goals/projects, everything is a goal/project by the way (think about it) :O)

Is Article Writing and a Newsletter Really Worth it?

Is Article Writing and a Newsletter Really Worth it?

Is article writing or a newsletter really worth it? Will anyone really read it? I say yes! Writing is a great exercise-it gets your juices flowing. Looking back, some of my writing is just funny! Look up the Book: The Artists Way. The author says to write morning pages to let your creativity freely flow (write like you talk); Ask other people for prompts (questions); Think of yourself as a gardener, who takes care of ideas. This takes the pressure off always trying to be creative. When you write…the ideas come!

It's important to find a regular way to communicate with your audience. (besides podcasts, etc…) People want to hear your “voice.” Write TO your audience, but write what interests you too! Sometimes you just have to write! Don’t be afraid of the blank page! (scary!) Read for ideas. Jot them down-don’t lose them!

Walkaways: 1. Have the mindset of an exercise with writing. Don’t be so self-critical of your past writing 2. Just start writing-journaling. As a “gardener” you’re just cultivating, then grabbing what’s out there 3. Let your true voice be heard-write to your specific audience (your avatar) 4. Don’t be afraid of the blank page. It’s OK to repurpose material 5. Pick a platform and stick with it for a good length of time to get going. Then re-evaluate.
