Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 08. Questions and Answers.

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 08. Questions and Answers.

Do you find yourself asking questions at work or even within your social groups ? Does it feel as though by doing so, you feel as though  you are 'rocking the boat' of conventionality when all you are intending to do is find a justifiable reason for something ?

As ‘Outsiders’ we often ask questions …as we are expressive types, it is often frustrating when we don’t understand a course of action …this can lead to us being seen as ‘difficult’ or ‘trouble makers’ when in actual fact, as expressive types, all we need is to gain some response or explanation and this is the difference between feeling included or marginalised….

This week, Mark and Zac discuss the ongoing issue of looking at life from the 'outside in' .

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 06. 'Lost In The Crowd' : Authenticity: A Form Of Bravery OR Simply Hiding In 'Public' ?

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 06. 'Lost In The Crowd' : Authenticity: A Form Of Bravery OR Simply Hiding In 'Public' ?

This week Mark and Zac discuss the concept of 'visibility', in the sense of being authentic and open as opposed to hiding in plain sight, by blending in with the 'crowd' and therefore providing  'cover' for those of us living within our comfort zones (?).

'The Outsiders' also discuss how creativity is taking a step outside of our comfort zones and requires a certain amount of emotional instability in order to be creative.

Mark shares some insights into his songwriting course that attempts to explore emotions through prompted topics in order to give the writer a platform  to work from.

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 04. Soho Souls : Year in Review; Live At The Royal Academy Of Arts, London

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 04. Soho Souls : Year in Review; Live At The Royal Academy Of Arts, London

"Change begins at the end of your comfort zone"
    Roy. T . Bennett

This week Mark and Zac met up in London's Soho district, a zone that holds deep connection to the arts, creativity and  self expression An area that seemed to 'fit the bill' as the duo wandered the streets and revisited areas of interest as well as sharing past insights of times spent living and working in London.

This episode was recorded at the Royal Academy of Arts, well situated within the area and the perfect location to reflect on creativity and expression as well as review the year's podcast episodes and insights gained from their show as well as the special guests that have joined them on the podcast during the year.

Zac  shared a profound thought that 'All things are the same, only different' and upon reflection, he was absolutely right, especially when we consider that we are all human beings but with a unique difference in life, experience and of course, our Human Design.

We have really enjoyed creating and producing this podcast and grateful for the opportunity to have met and shared our thoughts and experiences with our guests and for having you as a listener. We will continue to produce more shows in the new year and do hope you will continue to join us as we explore 'looking at life from the outside in' and how we can make the best of life from this different perspective.

Until then, we wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year...

    Enjoy !

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 02. Rebel Yell !! : The Importance of Confidence and How We React to Our Environment.

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 02. Rebel Yell !! : The Importance of Confidence and How We React to Our Environment.

Are you a Rebel or possibly a 'Flaneur' ? (Listen in for Zac's explanation) ...

How do you react or respond to your environment (workspace, home , social  etc..)

Do you conform to the 'norm' ? Are you frustrated at not 'being You' in order to 'Get Along' and 'Fit In' ?

This week the podcast looks at why most creative people tend to be 'rebellious' in nature and why this 'attitude' usually develops during the formative years.

Mark and Zac reflect on their own life experiences and share their childhood memories of fighting for their independence and why confidence is vital for self expression and the importance of 'Flow' in the creative process.

    Enjoy !

Mark and Zac's Introspective Half Hour 01. The John Hughes Trilogy; Films that Connected with Us Growing Up.

Are you highly sensitive and possibly over analytical  in your approach to life ?

This week, Mark and Zac decided to go back in time and discuss their teenage years and some of the films that connected with them and the messages behind the stories.

Music and Film as always, are central to the theme of our podcasts as they are  creative and expressive formats and usually the place where 'outsiders' tend to explore.

As always, we do hope you are finding our podcasts' approach to life direction and inner freedom refreshing and most importantly helpful with your own journey.

    Enjoy !

Mark and Zac ; The Outsiders - Facing our Fear ; 'Taking Action' versus Life in the 'Comfort Zone'.

Series 3 of Mark and Zac's The Outsiders podcast series ; Storytelling using the Hero's Journey.

Mark and Zac focus on the art of storytelling using Joseph Campbell’s ‘Hero’s
Journey’ framework as basis to share ideas and discuss experiences.

This week's discussion focuses on the dividing line between 'knowing' what we need 'to do' versus the reality of 'taking action' and facing our 'inner fears'.

Knowing that we must push beyond our 'Comfort Zone' in order to get back to 'who' we really are and 'where' we could be in life rather than purely surviving and adapting. The desire to 'break free' needs to be strong followed by 'taking the appropriate action which enables us to move ahead.

Mark and Zac use music and film to highlight their points as well as sharing their own life experiences of taking these important steps and the ongoing nature of the challenges ahead.

We do hope you are finding The Outsiders' approach to life direction and inner freedom refreshing and most importantly helpful with your own journey.

    Enjoy !

Dragons, Demons, and Supernatural Strength: The Brian Godawa Interview
We had Brian Godawa on the show at the end of last year to talk about The Hero’s Journey and the Monomyth. Many of you sent us messages saying how fascinated you were by the ideas Brian shared - specifically about the Supernatural Worldview of the Bible. Well, in the immortal words of Lando Calrissian: “Buckle up, baby.” Brian is back.

Brian Godawa has been a professional writer and filmmaker for over 15 years. As an award-winning screenwriter, his first feature film was To End All Wars, starring Kiefer Sutherland. But his skills and experience quickly expanded to include writing and directing feature films, documentaries and video promotionals. His popular book, Hollywood Worldviews: Watching Films with Wisdom and Discernment, is used as a textbook in schools around the country. He is a contributing writer to various journals and professional orgs, and his articles on movies and philosophy have been published around the world. Reluctant Hero

    Reluctant Hero

When you’re tired of having to be strong  for strength’s sake and feeling overwhelmed, we can become reluctant to hear the calling of the hero in our story.

Heroes don’t all wear capes and come from every where. F.E.A.R. keeps us stuck and comfort is a cozy place where dreams go to die. Our dreams. Our trials become endurance building exercises.

Will is a necessary tool to possess in your bat belt. The willingness to do something can defeat the monsters of reluctance and resistance. Slay your dragons.

This episode covers a lot of Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey. It was the source of everything we love about so many of of our favorite movies.
