    Ep. 336: Black Wives Matter

    Ep. 336: Black Wives Matter

The road to WrestleMania is rapidly being paved! Let’s talk all about it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

NXT still hasn’t quite ascended to the heights that it once knew. But on the heels of NXT Vengeance Day, we have to give a shout to how hard everyone there is working… even if it’s still hard to remember everyone’s names.

Speaking of hard workers, we still don’t have all the answers surrounding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but Sami and Cody Rhodes on the microphone sure do make for compelling television.

    The Main Event: Batista

Batista was one of the WWE's biggest stars of the Ruthless Aggression era, coming up as part of Evolution. After years of wrestling as the WWE and World Champion, he's now retired and shown his chops as an actor in everything from the MCU to Shyamalan films.

    The Three Count:

Danielle put over WWE thigh meat.

Lindsey put over Rated R Glamazon love.

Hal put over Fast Food Wrestling.

Hosted by Hal Lublin, Danielle Radford and Lindsey Kelk

Produced by Julian Burrell for Maximum Fun.

    Ep. 335: Royal Rumble 2023

    Ep. 335: Royal Rumble 2023

The road to WrestleMania is rapidly being paved! Let’s talk all about it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

This year's winners were Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley and goodness did they earn their spots in a pair of really great Royal Rumbles. What they lacked in surprises the two matches more than made up for in setting up the participants to look strong.

While we know two of the matches set for Mania, there’s still so much to rampantly speculate about– so let’s make sure we do that!

The Main Event: The Honorary Uce

Roman Reigns successfully defended his title against Kevin Owens in the Royal Rumble main event. But that's secondary to the subsequent beatdown that KO got from the Bloodline before Sami Zayn finally decided that he'd had enough of Roman Reigns and betrayed the tribal chief with a chair to the back.

    The Three Count:

Danielle put over a backstage journey at the Rumble.

Lindsey put over Batista’s desire to be a rom-com star.

Hal put over Sami Zayn on twitter.

Ep. 333: The entrance music of Cody Rhodes

Ep. 333: The entrance music of Cody Rhodes

Wooooooaaaa-OOOOH! Sing along with us on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Rhea Ripley is on fire. She may have saved Dominik Mysterio’s career and has proven to be the spice that makes Judgment Day work. But her greatest work now may be that she’s gotten us to cheer for a match between her and Solo Sikoa.

Amid cheering for the final week before the Royal Rumble, we’ll also shower some love on a star gone too soon and on everyone who knew him well: Jay Briscoe.

    Ring Tones: Cody Rhodes:

Cody Rhodes is on the Rhodes to recovery and the Rhodes to the Royal Rumble. He's set to make his big comeback after being injured for the second half of 2022. We're going to take a look at his journeyman career and all the songs that have accompanied him.

    The Three Count:

Danielle put over Steve Austin working odd jobs

Lindsey put over Finn Balor’s WrestleMania entrance

Hal put over The Rock finally providing a decent answer in an interview.

    Ep. 332: WWE’s Sale

    Ep. 332: WWE’s Sale

Quick! If we all pool our money together we can each buy a little bit of WWE! It’s gotta be better than all of the alternatives that we discuss on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

As Vince McMahon intends to further corrupt his greatest creation, we’re left holding our breath that he won’t sell WWE off to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His other options seem only marginally less appalling, but on the bright side: WWE Land at Disneyland?

Plus, let’s talk more about how to pronounce Mone’, celebrate Dominik Mysterio’s transformation into a must-see TV character and be happy that Adam Cole is back.

    Main Event: Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens will again challenge for the WWE Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. Kevin has been with the company since 2014 and provided plenty of matches and championships over the years.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over media literacy among wrestling fans.

Julian put over the spotlight on bad wrestling attire.

    Ep. 331: Virus McMahon

    Ep. 331: Virus McMahon

It’s a new year and it’s already making headlines! Let’s get through all the details on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Vince McMahon is officially back with the board of WWE. His strong arm tactics are apparently part of his efforts to facilitate a sale of the company on his own terms. He’s staying out of the CEO or head of creative positions for now. We’ll discuss how much we trust him to keep to himself and how we feel about his return (hint: Not much and not very well)

It’s a shame too, because WWE is on the road to the Royal Rumble and there are a lot of stories that are worth investing in. But leave it to a billionaire to ruin everything!

Plus,  we’ll talk about Sasha Banks’ transition into Mercedes Mone’ and why we hope that it improves a little more quickly.

Ep. 328: Mandy Rose and NXT: Deadl1ne

Ep. 328: Mandy Rose and NXT: Deadl1ne

This year of wrestling news just won’t stop!

Amid news of sexual assault allegations, Vince McMahon is reportedly mulling a comeback to WWE. We’ll break down why such an attempt would lead to an absolute flood of more stories and issues for VKM.

But put all that aside: There was still a bunch of wrestling on TV. NXT Deadl1ne featured the new Iron Survivor Match, which thankfully wasn’t as much of a mess as it could have been. Plus, Ring of Honor: Final Battle kicked off a rough week for Chris Jericho as he lost both his title and to a debuting Action Andretti.

Oh and New Day in NXT! Let the twerk-offs begin!

    The Main Event: Mandy Rose

Mandy Rose has been all over WWE. From Tough Enough, to NXT 1.0, to RAW, Smackdown and NXT 2.0. But now after a long reign with the NXT women's title and as the head of her own faction, she's officially been fired from WWE.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over the latest and greatest cutter on NXT Level up.

Lindsey put over Bret Hart x Bill Goldberg

Hal put over Dom needing his mami.

    Ep. 327: Seth “Freakin’” Rollins

    Ep. 327: Seth “Freakin’” Rollins

It’s to celebrate an architect; a visionary; a messiah on a brand new episode of Tights and  “Freakin’” Fights!

First we’ve gotta talk about a wild list of people that someone decided would be fun to trade between WWE and AEW(none of which we agree with!)

But there’s also plenty to get into with everyone who is currently involved in the United States Championship, which remains a compelling division.

Tegan Nox at last made her return to WWE. We’ll explain why some of the “lesser” names that have been brought in are actually a good sign for the future of the company.

    Main Event: Seth “Freakin’” Rollins

Seth Rollins just past the 10th anniversary of his time on the Main Roster. He's been a champion at every level in the company from his time in the Shield, to the Authority to being Mr. "Freakin" Rollins.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over Ricky Starks’ promo.

Lindsey put over Candice and the Internet’s baby nephew

Hal put over a Christmas Cavalcade.

Ep. 326: Survivor Series: War Games 2022

Ep. 326: Survivor Series: War Games 2022

We’re talking all about the drama and physicality of the final WWE PLE of the year for 2022 on a brand new Tights and Fights!

Survivor Series was a fun show from beginning to end… with a few Ronda Rousey speed bumps in the middle.

But we can’t forget about AEW and its coronation of a new World Champion in Maxwell Jacob Friedman. While we’re a little confused about what’s going on with William Regal both on-screen and behind the scenes, MJF as champ is plenty to be excited about on the face of– as is Jade Cargill!

    Main Event: War Games

WWE revived the War Games match in 2017. It was a fixture of NXT every year and now it's officially part of the main roster, starting this year.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over Paul Heyman loving on Sami Zayn.

Lindsey put over Kenny Omega, looking better than ever

Julian put over Jason David Frank, wrestling fan

Hal put over Dominik and Rhea on Thanksgiving.

    Ep. 325: It’s giving Thanksgiving

Don’t you just love the holidays? Let’s talk about them and somehow work some wrestling in on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

We’re going to discuss what’s on our respective menus as we gather together to celebrate. Who cares that most of our secret family recipes were from the back of boxes? We’re hungry!

Then we’ll go around and chat what we’re thankful for from wrestling this year. There’s still so much, from the ousting of toxic billionaires to other billionaires not being able to handle their mess to the friends we made along the way. Raise a glass for love!

    Ep. 324: Shelton Benjamin

    Ep. 324: Shelton Benjamin

We’re fast approaching the final weeks of wrestling in 2022! Don’t let the destruction of Twitter distract you from everything coming up– we’re ready to talk about it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

AEW still has a lot of uncertainty surrounding it, but Full Gear is still happening. Between MJF and The Elite returning, there’s hope that this PPV should end on a better note than the last one did.

WWE is still working on folding Austin Theory, Seth Rollins, Mustafa Ali and Bobby Lashley into a compelling US Title scene, all with War Games in the background. Speaking of which, how optimistic are we that Mia Yim can succeed in her second act in WWE?

Finally, it wouldn’t be the holidays without a convoluted match concept from NXT. Or rather, it would be… but not one that we’d want to face!

    The Three Count:

    Danielle put over Dante Martin

Hal put over Wrestling Refs as Wizards

    Ep. 323: Cookie Shawn

As demanded by our beloved Max Fun Members we are proud to welcome back Cookie Shawn to the show!

We’ve got lots of things to ask him about including the current status of his smile and how he gets into character.

Plus, we’re going to ask Cookie Shawn to recall memories of the story where Shawn Michaels was at his peak cartoony puppet self: vs. Hulk Hogan at SummerSlam. COOKIE!

    Ep. 322: John “Bradshaw” Layfield

    Ep. 322: John “Bradshaw” Layfield

Migraines and being under-staffed will not deter us from gabbing about wrestling!

Are you feeling Ucey today? It’s okay if you’re not! Thankfully we’ve got Sami Zayn and the Bloodline to remind us to always be our Uciest. We’ll talk about how improbably over the concept is.

Plus, AEW has a PPV coming up, but that doesn’t mean they’re not also INCREDIBLY petty on the road there, right? We missed you Colt Cabana!

All of that… and how are we still finding ways to squeeze Taylor Swift references in this show?

    The Main Event: JBL

John “Bradshaw'' Layfield is back in WWE after an extended absence. Previously he was a tag team champion, a Grand Slam Champion and commentator with Michael Cole. And now he's Baron Corbin's new mouthpiece and manager.

    The Three Count

Julian put over CM Punk x Taylor Swift

Ep. 321: The Music of Bray Wyatt

Ep. 321: The Music of Bray Wyatt

It’s a special spoooooOOOOOoooky edition of Tights and Fights!

WWE welcomes its first ever fourth generation star with Ava Raine, also known as the daughter of The Rock. Her family lineage helped her get through the door, but will the comparisons hold her back long term?

Rhea Ripley slammed a man like a freakin’ BOSS! The Chyna comparisons are natural… but we’d take it even further.

Plus, if anyone knows the number of a tailor, we’d like them to get to work on JBL’s pants immediately.

    Ring Tones: Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt is one of the biggest stars of the last 15 years in wrestling. And his arc has taken him from generic wrestler to cult leader to monster to lovable auteur with new music at every phase.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over WWE at Wakanda Forever

Lindsey put over NXT on the road to Ladders at Halloween Havoc.

Ep. 320: Brock Lesnar with Nick Bond

Nothing but beasts and country boys in our pro wrestling! We’re breaking it all down on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

We welcome Nick Bond from the Ringer to hang out and provide some valuable insight into the world of wrestling. That includes information about how many people in Long Island are similar to MJF as he makes his way to the top of AEW.

Plus, we’ll remember how badly things were done with the women in WWE’s past and explain why we’re desperate for Bray Wyatt’s return being the end of a certain doll on RAW.

    The Main Event: Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar has been a massive force in WWE since he debuted as the Next Big Thing in WWE. These days he's been the Beast Incarnate, Cowboy Brock and a multiple time world champion.

    The Three Count

Nick put over Saturday Morning Superstars

Danielle put over Ember Moon vs. Jody Threat

Ep. 319: Extreme Rules and returning wrestlers

Ep. 319: Extreme Rules and returning wrestlers

Are you ready to get Extreme?? To the Max?! Let’s get into all of it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

First though we have to debate whether or not the show had the proper amount of extreme. Sure we don’t really have an appetite for blood, but did WWE strike the right balance of brutality this year?

And while there were some great matches like the (Full) Donnybrook and Bianca Belair vs. Bayley, there were a few missteps like Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey.

But we’ve also got new champions: Orange Cassidy! Seth Rollins! And Brock is definitely in a new Taylor Swift era!

The Main Event: Old faces in new places

This was a big week for debuts across all of wrestling. New and returning faces always make for fun shows, so let's talk about who we saw this week: Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Renee Paquette, Shawn Spears and BRAY WYATT!

    The Three Count

Lindsey put over the most over dog!

Danielle put over the word Shillelagh

    Ep. 318: Bianca Belair

    Ep. 318: Bianca Belair

Is all news good news in wrestling? It turns out… No! Let’s talk about it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

AEW put so much work into the anniversary edition of Dynamite this past Wednesday. But right on the surface there were a lot of things missing. Namely: all of the wrestlers who helped found the company as executives.

That put a cloud on things, but it only got worse right before the show started. Sammy Guevara and Andrade El Idolo are the latest AEW stars to come to blows backstage. But hey, this is just a not-proud tradition of wrestling right? RIGHT???

    The Main Event: Bianca Belair

Ever since Bianca Belair won the 2021 Royal Rumble, she has had the rocket ship strapped to her back. She's main evented WrestleMania, won the title multiple times and has truly gotten over as a beloved babyface.

    The Three Count

    Lindsey put over Idea Soup.

Danielle put over Shawn Michaels on a talk show.

    Ep. 317: The Usos

    Ep. 317: The Usos

Extreme Rules looks extremely entertaining this year, so let’s channel that excitement into a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

You want a strap match (hopefully without fireballs)? You want the first ever one-on-one women’s ladder match in the history of the main roster? How’s about a big ol’ pit to fight in? Boy does WWE seem ready to cater to you!

But even putting aside the upcoming PPV, Sami Zayn and the Bloodline put on an Emmy-worthy performance to open up Smackdown this week and wow are we excited to see where it goes.

The Main Event: Saraya (fka Paige) and the women of AEW

Jimmy and Jey Uso have been part of WWE since 2010. They've grown from a fun slideshow to multiple time champions to the most important stable in the company.

    The Three Count

    Julian put over Wrestle Club.

Danielle and Hal put over Ric Flair in the worst thing ever.

Ep. 316: Two and a half champs

Ep. 316: Two and a half champs

A Grand Slam, a secret bunny and a bunch of new champions. It’s the kind of combination you can only get in wrestling! And we’re all too happy to walk you through it on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

AEW set up a bunch of new champions, including Jon Moxley finally getting a true coronation. Shame he’ll never get that vacation though.

And as Logan Paul continues to be miscast as a babyface there’s a very interesting dynamic at play in his match against Roman Reigns– even though we have no intention of seeing the match that will pay it all off.

Plus we’ll talk about WWE running a surprisingly successful viral campaign and why Lindsey got very British in her disapproval of Cesaro losing the ROH World Title.

The Main Event: Saraya (fka Paige) and the women of AEW

Paige was one of the first names in WWE's rebooted women's division. Injury forced her to step away from performing in the ring, but she remained a big part of the shows for years before leaving the company earlier this year. Now she's made her debut in AEW as Saraya where she'll likely wrestle again for the first time since 2017.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over MJF back on the mic.

Lindsey put over Strowman's Male Models.

    Ep. 315: NXT re-reboot

    Ep. 315: NXT re-reboot

After such a chaotic week, it’s nice to get back to the part of wrestling we love: the wrestling! That’s the love we share with you on a brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Solo Sikoa is the newest Uce with the Bloodline. And it turns out he’s cool with his adopted family Sami Zayn as much as he is with his brothers. But when does it all implode?

Between Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville, we actually love a little bit of MMA in our wrestling! And we also enjoy a bit of friendship between fwiends of all colors.

Plus: AEW looks to recover from a chaotic time by crowning a new World Champion next week. Can Bryan Danielson and MJF give the brand the stability that it needs?

And hey, if you need to smile, just remember that Chad Gable and Alpha Academy exists and Johnny Gargano had his first match in months!

    The Main Event: NXT 2.0

It's been one year since NXT was moved to Tuesday nights and rebooted with a new look and a new direction as NXT 2.0. And after this week, it looks like they'll once again be tweaking the presentation of WWE's developmental show.

    The Three Count

Danielle put over Roman Reigns on imPaulsive.

Lindsey put over reviews for Mindy’s Bakery in Chicago.

What an emotional rollercoaster of a week! Let’s talk about it all on a jumbo-sized brand new episode of Tights and Fights!

Clash at the Castle was everything we could have hoped for and so much more. Some of the best matches of the year from WWE along with intriguing new directions for a bunch of the major characters. Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns! Gunther vs. Sheamus! Bianca Belair’s first loss in forever!

The good vibes continued the next day on NXT: Worlds Collide. Are we finally excited about NXT again?

AEW’s All Out show was a bit more uneven, but still delivered some matches that were at least worth a watch… but that was almost forgotten just a few hours after the show.

The Main Event: CM Punk’s Gripe Bomb

After regaining his AEW championship, CM Punk  joined Tony Khan for a press conference that will live in infamy. He launched into a tirade that bad-mouthed Colt Cabana, MJF, Adam Page, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

As if that wasn't enough, Punk said, "If you have a problem, come find me." And find him the Bucks and Kenny did, starting a fight that would get the Bucks, Pat Buck, Kenny Omega and Michael Nakazawa suspended. Ace Steel and Punk's status with the company has not been determined yet.
