    Sleepy Hollow: The Reckoning

    Sleepy Hollow: The Reckoning

Happy Wine Wednesday! It's the holiday season and shows are on hiatus, so it's the perfect time to discover new faves and take the occasional trip down memory lane to revisit past shows.  In the previous episode, Reverend Solomon Missouri and I discussed a new fave - The Bear.  This week, I'm switching gears and revisiting a show that had so much potential and then completely alienated its audience in an astonishing fashion - Sleepy Hollow.

I'm joined this week by Stacey and Tamara to unpack our very complicated relationship with this series.  The discussion is broken out into two parts.  In part 1, we discuss the Sleepy Hollow pilot and revisit the magic of Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie on screen.  As always, the pilot discussion is spoiler free and limited to the events of the pilot only.

In part 2 of the discussion, we talk about the series as a whole and pull no punches.  We get into the terrible treatment of Abbie Mills as a character and Nicole Beharie as an actress.  We discuss the writers biggest crimes against the audience and the many, many times the show completely wasted the potential of its talented cast.  It was a long overdue, cathartic conversation about a show that went from being must see television to me  blocking most of the writers' room on social media after their poor responses to valid criticisms from the fans.

Check the chapter markers to see where part 2 of the discussion begins (roughly around the 1:16:00 mark).

Friendly reminder: we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a good time!

Episode 15 - The Plot Hole In The Library

Episode 15 - The Plot Hole In The Library
Another week, another episode! Stay tuned for an exciting anouncement at the end! First off Sarah teaches Abbey what an English school Mid-term. We deal with a little twitter feedback from episode 4. In our episode 5 recap we talk about: - We love Caroline, and really don't like how things turned out for her. - KATRINA MAGIC OMG ITS ACTUALLY A THING. - Neither of us like Hawley. Nothing has changed here. (Not Holly as previously thought by Sarah) - Our burning question of the week is how Abbie explained to the paramedics how she nearly drowned in a library? - Katrina's sins revealed. How much should Ichabod put up with. - What are Moloch's plans for Katrina? - Does our rift between the shows great two loves open up the door for a thing between Abraham and Katrina? - We still don't like Hawley, but we LOVE how Jenny treats him. You do your thing girl. - We have a very exciting announcement, we're looking for some GUEST HOSTS!

Episode 12 - Jeremy watches Bad MTV reruns

Episode 12 - Jeremy watches Bad MTV reruns
We're back everyone! Seasons 2 of Sleepy Hollow has officially started and Sarah and Abbey are back to discuss it with you! This episode Sarah gets very jealous of Abbie's screeners (she works for Screen Spy, so it's legit before you get any ideas!) not only did she see episode 1 before me, but she's also seen 2! We welcome back (almost) all our faves. Katrina finally gets a story line, even if it makes us VERY uncomfortable. Also, Abbie is a BAD ASS this episode, Jenny gets sh*t done and Ichabod is just brilliant. We're so happy to be back.

Episode 10 - Late In Every Possible Way

Episode 10 - Late In Every Possible Way
Disclaimer: As well as being ridiculously late in terms of when we last released an episode, this is also late because it took me so long to edit so news may no longer be news. Now that's out of the way, welcome back! It's been a while and we're sorry it has, but Abbey and Sarah are back to talk about the latest news from the hiatus plus some general sleepy hollow chat. Enjoy!

Episode 8 - The Frick Frack

Episode 8 - The Frick Frack
Coming back after the winter break Abbey and Sarah discuss the recently aired Episode 11 of FOX's Sleepy Hollow 'Vessel'. We delve deep into the ever complicating relationship between Jenny and Abbie after some very startling revelations about Jenny's past. We also gush about how impressed with Orlando Jones we were this episode. Actually, all the Irving family acted out of their skin this episode and it was really great to watch. Sarah also revels some slight inaccuracies about period clothing and why skinny jeans were probably Ichabods worst nightmare. We also chat about our predictions for the season 1 finale two-parter airing next Monday.
