Drones are useful for so many things in life, and that includes mapping!  Karen Joyce enjoys teaching others about how drones and mapping together can help us make our Earth a better place.

Joyce is from Cairns, Australia and she's the Co-Founder and Tech Lead at GeoNadir, a platform to help people and teams manage all their drone mapping data--the information can get massive at times, and Joyce says their tools make it easier to get the job done.

She's also bringing her enthusiasm to another initiative as Co-Founder and Education Director at She Maps.  The program is currently taught in 12 countries.  The teaching options even include a children's book and drone plush!

Jillian Angeline hosts Kyle Nordfors for a second time to talk all about what drone pilots can do to ensure the skies are better for everyone.   Kyle is the Drone Team Coordinator for the Weber County Sheriff's Office in Utah, the UAS Chairman for the Mountain Rescue Association and a 737 Captain for Alaska Airlines.

"The 107 was a great start.  But I think, my personal opinion is that it doesn't go far enough.  Too many people study for 107 just to pass it," Kyle tells Jillian.

Crew resource management and aeronautical decision-making are vital.  Check out some tips Kyle offers so drone pilots can get more education beyond the Part 107 base requirements.

"Had we not used the technology to find them, they undoubtedly would have perished," Kyle Nordfors said during this conversation.

Kyle talks with Jillian Angeline about his work piloting drones with Weber County Search and Rescue in Utah to save lives.  Kyle is the Drone Team Coordinator at the Sheriff's Office, he's also the UAS Chairman for the Mountain Rescue Association, and a 737 Captain at Alaska Airlines.

Kyle says once you get a taste of aviation, flying one type of aircraft isn't enough.  Can you relate?  He also shares tips for hikers heading out into the wilderness, and offers important advice for drone pilots: understand how outside temperatures impact your UAS.

הלחימה המתמשכת באוקראינה מעלה שוב את נושא שילוב כלי טייס בלתי מאויישים בלחימה. זמן קצר לפני פרוץ הקרבות הצבא האוקראיני קלט  25 כלי טייס מסוג TB2 מתוצרת טורקיה. משנת 2020 כלים אלה הפגינו את יכולותיהם בקרבות  בסוריה, לוב ואזרביג׳אן, כשהציגו רצף מרשים של הצלחות מבצעיות בהשמדת רק״מ, מערכי ארטילריה ונ״מ, שיירות אספקה ומפקדות. גם עתה, התקשורת זוקפת הרבה מההצלחה של צבא אוקראינה בבלימת טורי הצבא הרוסי לכלי הטייס הטורקיים, זאת למרות שבניגוד להצלחות המתועדות של כלי טייס אלה בעבר, אין כמעט תעוד של ביצועי TB2 באוקראינה. עוד על פעילות כלי הטייס הלא מאויישים בלחימה בפרק זה.

Elbit Systems unveiled today a new version of its Skylark 3 Small Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems (STUAS) equipped with a hybrid propulsion system. As the classic Skylark 3, the drone is a covert operation UAS. The hybrid propulsion system is designed to enable fast arrival to the Area Of Interest (AOI) using the combustion engine. when operating in the area of interest, the silent mode (electrical engine) can be activated. Therefore, it enables the combination of long-endurance operations while providing real-time, day, and night intelligence.
