Creative Thinking and Arts: The conversation shifts to the importance of creative thinking, incorporating arts into education, and the need for a more holistic approach to STEM. Janine shares her program, "smart" (science, art, research, and technology), highlighting the creative and research aspects of engineering and technology.

Interview Teaser: The hosts tease a future podcast interview where Geneine will share more about the intersection of engineering and art.

Wisdom and Perspective Shifting: The banter wraps up with a discussion on the wisdom of the elderly, the importance of perspective shifting, and the sad reality of modern education suppressing creativity and curiosity.

Closing Thoughts: Kim expresses gratitude to Geneine, recognizing her as a gem and promising another chat in the future. The episode concludes with the reminder that these sound bits may shift perspectives until next time.

    Go on, Say It!

    Go on, Say It!

Men are bad about this. Really everyone, male or female has thoughts going on in their head, much of which isn't said. Sometimes they are words of encouragement, kind curiosity, and love.

These caring thoughts just need to come out. It doesn’t have to be a big speech but just a comment to bring them into the light.

Things often go unspoken because we fear if they are spoken, they will grow and take over. We may avoid saying something because it could make someone cry.

When you speak up with care and compassion, the results can be much better than keeping those thoughts to yourself.

Most of the time a tender or important feeling is brought up, the people who share it feel closer to each other afterward. It is a moment of connection.

Holding it in, the opposite of speaking up, is a way to keep distance. It keeps distance from the emotions, protects the person from “losing it” and it keeps distance between people. No closeness can develop between people who protect themselves.

7 min clip - What are the unspoken rules of Corporate | Liz Letsoalo

What are the unspoken rules of Corporate?

In this short 7 min clip, Liz Letsoalo, my recent guest on my podcast, tackles the political web of corporate.

    -          She touches on how some people get the benefit of the doubt

    -          A new term I heard, called likability and how is this measured

    -          The important of exposure

    -          And how corporate functions are not inclusive enough

I hope you enjoy this clip and please let me know if you have any experience of the above or have a nugget to add.

We are not trying to spread the negative side of corporate as there are many positives, we are trying to create a platform where we can discuss our experiences.
