Dr. Jen Bennett | The Unexpected Influencer

Dr. Jen Bennett | The Unexpected Influencer

I have one question for you today: Do you consider yourself an influencer?

This is a question I ask my college students every semester. The response? About 95% of them say no. Why? Because they tend to believe that being an influencer is all about being known, like a celebrity. It’s about the people that know you and follow you. In our world, we lean towards influence being the stages we are speaking on, the books we are writing, and the people following us, both online and offline.

But today, I want to share the story of an unexpected influencer. An influencer that Jesus used to transform the lives of a village. And influencer that no one expected to be used by God.
In today’s episode, I specifically chat through:

💥 How God has strategically placed you in your city, community, neighborhood, and work
💥 How impacting culture in 2023 begins with being curious
💥 How curiosity leads to influence and influence leads to leadership
💥 The woman at the well and her unexpected influence

Friends, my prayer is that in 2023, God will clearly show you your influence and who he has called you to specifically engage with. You are not where you are by accident. God has placed you in your city, community, neighborhood, and work for such a time as this. How exciting is that?

I believe God wants to do some incredible work in your life this year, and Friends, I’m thrilled to travel alongside you on this adventure!

New Writing Directions Part 1 with Sasha Wasley

New Writing Directions Part 1 with Sasha Wasley

Today's episode is the first in a two-part series on rebooting your author career, featuring two authors who both have new releases, and who are both taking their careers in new directions with their two latest books.

The first interview is with Sasha Wesley, and next week, I'll be speaking to Meredith Jaffé.

Sasha is a West Australian author who had three books out a few years back in her Outback romance series: Dear Banjo, True Blue and Love Song. She also writes in the paranormal genre, under the pen name S.D. Wasley, for both adults and young adults. Last year Sasha published her first contemporary fiction title with Pantera Press, Spring Clean for the Peach Queen, and will soon be going into middle grade fiction. Sasha wears a lot of different writing hats, has a couple of pen names and a lot of diverse interests, including a new genre that she talks about at the end of this interview.

In this interview Pam chats to Sasha about her new release, A Caravan Like a Canary, published last month by Pantera , as well as talking about the new direction in Sasha's author career and how that has come about.

So grab a cuppa, sit back and I hope you enjoy this chat with Sasha Wasley on the Writes4Women Convo Couch.

    Systems and Tools for Creativity

    Systems and Tools for Creativity

As an author, you’ve probably heard people tell you, “Wow, you’ve written a book? I could never do that.” The idea of creating something so big out of nothing, writing and revising for months, and eventually putting it out in the world, feels overwhelming to most. Some may say it seems incomprehensible.

So how do you do it?

Chances are, you have a system.

It may not be a formal system. You may not utilize all the fancy tools like Scrivener or Plottr to craft your novels. In fact, you may not even realize you’re doing it. But if you’ve sat down day after day and put your hands keyboard, you have some system for creating.

Can you create a system that ensures your muse visits early and often? Let’s find out!

This is the season two finale of the Your Breakout Book podcast. I hope you’ve enjoyed this season’s themes, interviews, and trainings. 030: How to Make 6-Figures When You Aren't an Expert [Robbin Kleinpenning]

#0030 You don't always have to be an expert at something to make a lot of money.

This week, I'm talking with Robbin Kleinpenning who start a business in the puppy training niche and has recently brought in over $300,000 from this business.

As you'll hear in this episode, Robbin is not an expert on dogs or puppy training. Despite this seemingly massive hurdle, Robbin went on to create a podcast, publish books, and create online courses on a topic that he is no expert in.

    Episode 49: Damon Suede

    Episode 49: Damon Suede

On December 23, 2019, Romance Writers of America censured author Courtney Milan over a dubious ethics complaint. Since then, much has come out regarding the involvement of the president-elect of the organization (now president, as of December 28), who happens to be Damon Suede. I do not condone any of the actions taken and am deeply troubled by his involvement. I have chosen to leave this episode up as a testament to transparency. I interviewed Damon long before the events of December 23. This is that interview.

Read the timeline of the situation with RWA in full: https://www.claireryanauthor.com/blog/2019/12/27/the-implosion-of-the-rwa

Jess talks to Damon Suede about the inherent core to voice, checking in with your Keep It Real Crew, how opportunity and preparation really do go hand in hand, the changing industry and his remarkable journey to success as a romance writer.
