Jamaican musician Ziggy Marley - son of reggae star Bob - hasn't been to Australia in years. 

But his appearance at WOMADelaide is controversial, over his longstanding support for Israel, and calls for him to be removed from the festival lineup.

Ziggy Marley is a musician, producer, author, Grammy winner, activist, humanitarian and son of beloved musician Bob Marley. Growing up in the Marley household, it’s no surprise that his life has always been filled with music. Marley joins Hoda Kotb to discuss his father’s legacy, the side of his dad many didn’t know and his role as a producer on the recent film “Bob Marley: One Love”.

Bob Marley is known as the most famous Jamaican but he’s also considered the paragon of reggae music. Bob Marley One Love is the new movie that gives us a closer look into what drove him and the turbulence he experienced. Marley grew up in poverty, the son of a black mother and a white father, but his undeniable musical ability helped him rise above that. This movie features those sweet musical offerings peppered throughout. Kingsley Ben-Adir plays the legendary Marley and Lashana Lynch plays his wife Rita who braves the danger of Jamaica with him. Marley’s musical career origins are also explored, along with providing some cinematic representation to what his songwriting process was like. Acclaimed drummer, musician and composer Santa Davis joins husband and wife duo Jules Williams and Alison Pothier for this episode of I BULIEVE.  Santa is a member of the band, Soul Syndicate and has recorded with fellow reggae legends like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer in Bob Marley and the Wailers,  as well as Jimmy Cliff,  Big Mountain and Ziggy Marley to name a few.   He has also played with traditional artists such as Willie Nelson, Pink and Chaka Khan.

Join us as Santa shares his story of growing up in Kingston, Jamaica and his journey from a young boy in the drum corps to one of reggae's drumming legends.  Speaking about how his own history evolved alongside that of the reggae music genre, Santa also shares about the poignant moments that defined his life and career.  Dear friend of Peter Tosh, Santa was in the room the night Peter Tosh was shot and murdered.   Surviving on a miracle and a prayer,  Santa plays today with a bullet still lodged in his back.

A deeply soulful man, Santa's is a life well-lived and founded in faith, integrity and spiritual wisdom.  His passion for life and music is infectious.  An inspiration for all those 'choosing' their paths ... through the most challenging of circumstances.
