    Podcast Summary

    • Embrace the power of books and actionGary Vaynerchuk encourages reading books for personal and professional growth, taking action on ideas, and engaging in his latest book 'Crushing It' for insights and tactics.

According to Gary Vaynerchuk, reading books and taking action on the ideas and strategies presented within them is a powerful way to make a positive change in one's professional and personal life. He emphasized this point during his podcast and at a recent event, where he encouraged listeners and attendees to buy and engage in his latest book, "Crushing It." The book is divided into three parts: the mindset needed to take action, stories of individuals who have done so, and up-to-date tactics for implementation. Vaynerchuk also thanked those who have supported him and his team, and expressed his excitement about the opportunities available to attendees at the conference. He emphasized the importance of the timing of the event and his new book, and his belief that the next few years hold great potential for growth in various industries.

    • Maximizing potential on underutilized digital channelsConsider focusing resources on one or two channels instead of spreading them thinly, and explore the untapped profitability of underutilized platforms like Instagram ads.

Despite being a digitally advanced crowd, many businesses may not be fully leveraging the opportunities available to them, particularly on platforms like Instagram, where costs are underpriced for the potential return on investment. The speaker emphasized the importance of going deep into one or two channels instead of spreading resources thinly across multiple platforms. He shared his own experience of neglecting Instagram ads despite their potential profitability. The speaker encouraged the audience to reconsider their marketing strategies and focus on maximizing the potential of the current digital landscape rather than constantly chasing the next trend.

    • Focus on what's workingInstead of chasing new trends, prioritize and commit to what's already successful in your business.

Instead of constantly focusing on starting new projects or keeping up with the latest trends, it's essential to put most of your energy and commitment into what's already working for you. Gary Vaynerchuk shares his experience of building businesses on Google and social media, emphasizing the importance of being smart with your spending and understanding the competition. He also highlights the current trend of demonizing technology, which presents an opportunity for those who believe in its value to gain more market share. By focusing on what's proven to work and staying committed, you can take your business to the next level.

    • Seize the opportunity to establish yourself onlineRecognize the potential of social media for income, build your online presence, and capitalize on the early stages of social media advertising

We are living in a unique time where the potential for making money through social media is still largely untapped. Gary Vaynerchuk shared his experience of writing "Crush It" a decade ago, where the idea of making significant income on platforms like YouTube and Instagram was considered unconventional. However, with advancements in technology and the increasing acceptance of the digital world, this concept is now widely accepted. Vaynerchuk believes that in the future, social media celebrities will earn more money than traditional celebrities. He encourages individuals to recognize the opportunity to establish themselves as personalities, authorities, or organizations in their industry during this land grab of the Internet. The biggest companies have yet to fully invest in social media advertising, and the penetration of attention is still in its early stages. So, it's essential to seize this moment and start building your online presence.

    • Investing in building a personal brand and creating high-quality content for social media is the future of marketingTo succeed in marketing, focus on building a personal brand and creating high-quality content for social media platforms, as traditional methods become less effective and more expensive.

The way businesses reach their audiences is changing, and those who fail to adapt will be left behind. Traditional methods like television commercials and banner ads are becoming less effective and more expensive. Instead, investing in building a personal brand and creating high-quality content for social media platforms is the future. This means producing more content, up to 5000 times more, and being fully committed to this strategy. The biggest companies in the world are already making this shift, and those in the real estate industry who don't follow suit will regret it in the next few years. The ROI of attention is simple supply and demand, and those who can capture and keep the attention of their audience will succeed financially and professionally.

    • False sense of security in good timesUnderstand long-term consequences, prepare for potential hardships, build a strong reputation, focus on personal brand, remain practical, don't be swayed by negativity, strengthen position for long term.

The current economic climate has lulled many professionals into a false sense of security, leading them to believe they are more successful than they truly are. Speaker warns that this complacency could be detrimental during an economic downturn. He emphasizes the importance of understanding the long-term consequences of actions during good times and preparing for potential hardships. The speaker also highlights the significance of building a strong reputation as an investment that withstands economic instability. He encourages professionals to focus on practical steps, such as reinvesting in their personal brand, rather than hoarding money or going into hiding. Despite the ease and abundance of riches in the present, the speaker advises against being swayed by negativity and instead, to remain practical and prepare for the future. The speaker's message is that the current economic climate should not be an excuse for complacency, but rather an opportunity to strengthen one's position for the long term.

    • Maximizing Word-of-Mouth Marketing with Content CreationInvest in content creation for social media to amplify word-of-mouth marketing, even for those with limited skills or experience. Becoming a local authority through content can build a strong brand and grow a business.

Word-of-mouth marketing has been effectively used for business success for decades, but the Internet and social media have amplified its reach and impact. Creator and entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk encourages producing high volumes of content to maximize the potential for word-of-mouth sharing. He emphasizes the importance of investing in content creation, such as video and written word, for advertising on social media platforms. Even those with limited skills or experience can benefit from this strategy, as the cost of attention is relatively low compared to the potential return on investment. By becoming a local authority through content creation, individuals can build a strong brand and grow their business.

    • Investing in content creation for business growthInvesting in high-quality content creation and consistency can help build a strong online presence, reach a larger audience, and ultimately lead to business growth.

Investing in creating and sharing valuable content about yourself and your business through various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and podcasting can significantly grow your business. The speaker emphasizes the importance of understanding the current market landscape, where attention and engagement are key currencies, and being willing to go "all in" by investing resources into content creation. He also highlights the importance of observing and learning from others to stay ahead of the competition. By focusing on creating high-quality content and being consistent, individuals can build a strong online presence and reach a larger audience, ultimately leading to business growth.

    • Understanding the value of underpriced social media attentionCapitalize on the low cost of reaching a large audience on social media platforms, don't let algorithm changes discourage you, and learn from historical examples of embracing new technologies for marketing success.

The underpriced attention offered by social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram presents a unique opportunity for businesses to reach a large audience at a relatively low cost. The speaker, Gary Vaynerchuk, emphasizes that it's important to understand the value of this attention and not get bogged down by algorithm changes or perceived negatives, as these platforms are still a powerful tool for sales and marketing. He also shares a historical example of MTV and how some artists initially resisted it due to the perceived value of their music being given away for free, but ultimately those who embraced it saw significant benefits. Similarly, during the early days of Google AdWords, businesses that invested in the platform saw great returns due to its underpriced nature. The speaker encourages businesses to take advantage of these opportunities and not waste time trying to sell the unsellable.

    • Leveraging technology and building relationships for growthMaximize reach and impact by using various forms of content creation and building meaningful relationships at industry events.

Amazon is a dominant force in the business world and its growth is largely fueled by technology platforms like Google, Facebook, and Instagram. However, the real value comes from building relationships and networking with others in your industry. The speaker emphasized the importance of being present and open to learning from others, even if you're already successful. He also encouraged using various forms of content creation, such as video and audio, to maximize reach and impact. The speaker's personal experience with having someone film him for his podcast and LinkedIn content has been transformative for his career, and he encouraged the audience to make the most of their time at the event by connecting with as many people as possible. The real value isn't in taking selfies or just listening to speakers, but in building meaningful relationships that can lead to new opportunities and growth.

The Most Important Question In Business

The Most Important Question In Business

Here’s the problem most people run into when they create content online: They think they have to have something to say. So many of you aren’t putting out content online because you think you need to have the perfect message, or something “valuable” to share (based on your own arbitrary opinion). And what I’m telling you is, you will get more business if you put out literally anything. If you’re an auto dealer, you could put out a 5 min video every afternoon just recapping what happened in your day. If you’re a real estate agent, you could post updates on what your opinions are about the Super Bowl teams. Get on social media and tell your truth … it’s really that simple.

JP Sears: How to Build a Brand & Social Media Empire [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

JP Sears: How to Build a Brand & Social Media Empire [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Lifecoach, internet sensation and hilariously funny comedian, JP Sears joins the show again today to talk about how the pandemic has impacted him and his comedic career.  Together, they discuss the importance of using your brand for good, why multiple streams of income offer both security and opportunity and why the goodness of humanity is the strongest force of nature.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • If your brand is not changing that means it is not growing. Use your brand as a force for good. As the world continues to change your brand may shift and evolve along with you. Taking risks is a huge step to growth, relatability and desirability for you and your brand.
    • Necessity is the mother of business. One of the blessings of covid is that it has brought people's attention to where it needed to be. The importance of having multiple streams of income has become more apparent.
    • Having multiple streams of income is security and opportunity. Know where your values are and where you should focus the large majority of your attention. You can then focus small amounts of time on other income-generating tasks that offer you security so that if something hits one of your income sources, you are still financially secure.
    • Self-responsibility and sovereignty have to be the backbone of anybody on social media. Don’t let social media be your backbone, or else you might break your back and you are not going to be as robust as you can.
    • Stay playful and childlike. As you get older, become more of a child than you already are. Let yourself be full, be goofy and worry even less about what people are thinking of you. The older we get, the more maturity we have to allow ourselves to be childlike.
    • When you look around at humanity, you will see so many brave people who are awake and who are brave enough to get their points of view from themselves. The goodness of humanity is the strongest force of nature. The force of good that naturally flows through people is flowing strong.

    BEST MOMENTS

“I do comedy in the name of freedom.”

“One of the biggest mistakes I made for a long time was underestimating the legitimate business side that social media can offer you.”

    “Freedom is important to me.”

“None of us can predict the future but what we do know is, if you are building a mansion in somebody else's backyard, you don’t own that equity.”

“We all need to do our best to contribute to positive change in the world.”
