    • Supporting those we admireBe proactive in championing and advocating for those we admire to help them receive recognition and strengthen relationships

It's important to champion and support the people we believe in. I recently learned this lesson when a dear friend of mine, Joanna Tongue, was awarded an MBE for her services to equality and football. I was thrilled for her, but I couldn't help feeling annoyed that I hadn't done more to help her receive this recognition. You see, the process for receiving an MBE involves nominations from others, and although my friend and I had discussed nominating Joanna years ago, it never came to fruition. This experience made me realize that it's essential to be proactive in supporting the people we admire. We should speak up about their accomplishments and advocate for them whenever possible. By doing so, we not only help them receive the recognition they deserve but also strengthen the bonds of friendship and community. So today, I encourage you to take a moment to think about the people in your life who inspire and impress you. Consider how you can champion them and let them know how much you believe in their abilities. It's a simple act that can make a significant difference in their lives and yours.

    • Expressing gratitude and appreciation to loved onesSharing admiration and appreciation with loved ones strengthens relationships and uplifts them, creating a positive environment.

Expressing kindness and recognition to those we love can hold significant meaning. Hearing words of appreciation from someone we care about can bring immense joy and excitement. It's essential to champion our friends and acknowledge their achievements, no matter how small they may seem. By doing so, we create a positive and supportive environment that strengthens our relationships and uplifts those around us. Remember, taking the time to express gratitude and celebrate the successes of our loved ones can make a significant impact on their lives and our own. So, don't hesitate to share your admiration and appreciation with those you care about. In the end, it's the little things that can make a big difference.
