Bo Jackson, a legendary athlete, was known for his extraordinary abilities in both baseball and football. Witnessed by only a few, including the speaker, was a unique sound heard during home runs by Babe Ruth, Josh Gibson, and Bo Jackson himself. Bo Jackson's impressive size, strength, and speed made him a standout in both sports, leaving fans wondering what he could have achieved if he had pursued a career in all three. Despite his untimely injury, Bo Jackson remains a symbol of athletic greatness, inspiring generations to come. The speaker's passion for Bo Jackson's story highlights the injustice of limiting athletes to one sport and the excitement of imagining what could have been if they had the opportunity to excel in multiple fields.

The speaker values the era of celebrity when there was more mystery and less intrusion into their personal lives. He admires figures like Bo Jackson, who were given enough exposure to become heroes, but not so much that their flaws or imperfections were laid bare for the public. • Significant age differences in relationships can lead to unhealthy dynamicsAge differences in relationships can create power imbalances, leading to emotional, physical, and psychological abuse, particularly for young women involved with older partners.

Significant age differences in relationships can lead to unhealthy dynamics, as evidenced by the abusive relationship between Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood. This relationship, which began when she was 19 and he was 30, involved emotional, physical, and psychological abuse. The age difference created a power imbalance, with Manson manipulating and controlling Wood. This type of relationship, with its inherent issues, is not uncommon, especially for young women involved with older, more experienced partners. It's crucial to teach people, particularly young women, to recognize and avoid such relationships. The goal is to raise awareness and prevent similar situations from occurring. The complexity of this issue lies in understanding why individuals, especially those who have experienced abuse before, might find themselves in such relationships and how to prevent them.

Additionally, he highly recommends the show "Guess Book" and the actor Jimmy Tatra, who he finds to be hilarious and a new favorite.

    • Exploring new experiences through VR and substancesVirtual reality and mind-altering substances can lead to unexpected discoveries and connections, offering new perspectives and potential for personal growth, but also come with risks and challenges.

The group's creative process involved a mix of self-directed and actor-assisted ideas, with a focus on consistency and familiarity in brand choices. They also discussed the difference between Xanax and edibles in terms of their effects and timing. Additionally, they shared stories about their personal experiences with these substances and pondered the reasons why some people might choose to experiment with strong drugs near the end of their lives. The conversation also touched on the topic of how people perceive women in media and the importance of representation.

    • Story of a forgotten comedian and importance of self-careNeglecting self-care and inconsistency can lead to unexpected challenges. Regular health check-ups and staying focused on priorities are essential.

Inconsistency and lack of self-care can lead to unexpected challenges. The speaker shares a story about a man, whose name they cannot remember, who was once a comedian but was not invited back for a reboot of a show. The speaker finds it strange that people are expressing sadness for him now, despite not showing much interest in his career before. The speaker also emphasizes the importance of regular health check-ups, sharing their own routine of getting physicals every nine months. The conversation then shifts to an encounter the speaker had with an aggressive driver who chased them after a minor traffic incident. The speaker was so engrossed in their own activities that they didn't even realize they were being pursued. This story serves as a reminder to stay focused on one's own life and priorities, and to take care of one's health.

    • The destructive power of rageRage can make us lose our sense of rational thinking, leading to hurtful words and dangerous actions. It's important to recognize and take accountability for our actions during moments of intense emotion.

Rage can lead people to say and do things they wouldn't normally do, and it can be difficult to recognize and take accountability for those actions in the heat of the moment. The speaker shares an experience of feeling intense rage towards another driver and describes how they wanted to say hurtful things but didn't want to be identified on camera. They reflect on how rage can make people lose their sense of rational thinking and how it can lead to dangerous situations, such as the Capitol riots. The speaker also muses about how to explore the phenomenon of rage further and suggests creating a game show where people are pushed into a "fevered pitch" to see what they do. Overall, the discussion highlights the destructive power of rage and the importance of recognizing and taking accountability for our actions when we feel enraged.

    • Handling disruptive audience membersSpeakers must learn to handle disruptive audience members with skill and poise to maintain control and turn negative situations into positive ones through humor and quick thinking.

Performing live can be challenging when dealing with disruptive audience members. The speaker shared an experience of a woman disrupting his show in a club, leading to a heated exchange and eventual ejection. He also mentioned how some comedians, like Bill Burr, handle such situations with confidence and assertiveness, something the speaker admired but always feared himself. The speaker also recalled a time when he managed to salvage a performance after insulting a woman in the audience, turning the situation around and winning her over with his material. Overall, the discussion highlights the importance of handling disruptive audience members with skill and poise, and the potential for turning negative situations into positive ones through humor and quick thinking.

    • Balancing comedy and respect for audiencesComedy involves risks and boundaries, requiring performers to understand audience reactions and adjust accordingly.

Comedy can be a delicate balance between pushing boundaries and respecting audiences. The speaker shares stories of instances where his jokes led to confrontations and audience members leaving. He admits to regretting some of his past behavior and acknowledges that there are always two sides to every story. The speaker also discusses the importance of understanding audience reactions and adjusting accordingly. Despite some challenging experiences, he expresses a preference for telling "fun stories" over doing stand-up comedy. Overall, the conversation highlights the complexities and risks involved in performing comedy and the need for performers to navigate potentially sensitive topics with care.

    • Handling disruptive audience membersQuick thinking, adaptability, and sometimes humor are essential when dealing with disruptive audience members. Safety should always be a priority.

Dealing with hecklers or disruptive audience members in a live performance can be challenging and unpredictable. During a show, a performer encountered intimidating and disrespectful individuals in the front row who made the situation uncomfortable. In Miami, the situation escalated further with three gangbangers causing distress for Lisa Carano, another performer. The performer tried to engage them using humor, inspired by David Tell's technique, which worked to some extent. However, the situation could have become dangerous due to the presence of weapons, and the performer was advised to leave the area. Ultimately, handling disruptive audience members requires quick thinking, adaptability, and sometimes, a sense of humor.

    • Adapting to Challenging EnvironmentsComedians must read audiences, adjust material, and use unexpected circumstances to their advantage for a successful performance.

Performing comedy, especially in unfamiliar or challenging environments, requires versatility and adaptability. The anecdotes shared highlight the importance of being able to read an audience, adjust material on the fly, and even use unexpected circumstances to one's advantage. Whether it's dealing with hecklers, language barriers, or unexpected distractions, comedians must be prepared to think on their feet and make the best of any situation. This not only showcases their skill as a performer but also increases the chances of connecting with the audience and delivering an enjoyable show.

Daddy Issues, Secret Hookups & Love Bombing With Violet Benson

Daddy Issues, Secret Hookups & Love Bombing With Violet Benson
If you’re trying to focus on self-improvement these days, you’re not alone. In today’s episode, Violet Benson talks about how isolation helped her develop a newfound appreciation for self-love and confidence. Violet is also the founder of @DaddyIssues on Instagram and the host of the podcast, Too Tired To Be Crazy. Not only does she discuss her new favorite vibrator, but she also shares how she learned to stop dating toxic people, the new ways she loves her body, and reveals her secret hookup with Too Hot To Handle’s Francesca Fargo. I also break down some important relationship terms: what exactly is “love bombing” and how does it correlate with codependency in relationships? Plus, I help a caller with tips on how to initiate sex without feeling like you’re left rejected.
