    Podcast Summary

    • From Traveling Vlogger to Multidimensional Media MogulWith a fixed budget and a commitment to creating daily content, Nas Daley built a successful career in content creation and turned his brand into a thriving ed tech company, software brand, and brand studio.

Nosi, the creator behind Nas Daley, left his mind numbingly boring job as a software developer to travel the world on a fixed budget and create a one-minute daily video for 1000 straight days. Over time, he picked up more than 40 million followers on Facebook and turned his brand into a multidimensional media business. He created an ed tech company that offers courses on how to become a content creator, built a software brand that helps content creators manage their communities and monetize their content, and has a brand studio that produces videos for corporate clients. Despite his success, Nosi's upbringing was not easy as a Palestinian who is also a citizen of Israel. He struggled with his conflicting identities and the self-segregation that exists between Arabs and Jews in Israel and Palestine.

    • The Journey of a Palestinian Israeli Tech EntrepreneurSocio-political barriers can hinder success, but technology has potential to be an equalizer for all. Level playing fields must be created for individuals of all backgrounds to reach their full potential.

Nuseir Yassin's journey to becoming a successful tech entrepreneur highlights the issues faced by Palestinian Israelis in Israel. Due to the societal and political barriers, Yassin felt that he couldn't achieve his dreams in his home country and had to immigrate to the US to gain opportunity. His passion for technology stemmed from its potential to be an equalizer, allowing him to transcend his identity as a Muslim Arab Israeli and compete solely based on merit. This led him to build his own search engine, leveraging the power of tech to create something valuable and innovative. Yassin's story sheds light on the importance of creating a level playing field in all industries, so that people of all backgrounds can reach their full potential.

    • The Journey of Nas Daily's Creator, Nuseir Yassin.Nuseir Yassin's perseverance and passion led him to create Nas Daily despite facing multiple failures. His motivation to highlight social injustices drove him to become an entrepreneur.

Nuseir Yassin, the creator of Nas Daily, was inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of the social network movie to try building a company. He failed almost 10 times before achieving success with Nas Daily. Yassin was fascinated by preserving memories through videos. He made a video of a hamburger being sent to space, which gained one million views but did not lead to a career in content creation. He became disenchanted with the corporate world while working as a software developer for Venmo and realized the inefficiencies present in many organizations. Yassin's anger at the world's injustices motivated him to become an entrepreneur.

    • How NAS Daily Founder is Building a Positive MediaPursue your passion, embrace risks, and make the most out of every opportunity to achieve your dreams. Anger can inspire positive change, as proven by Nuseir Yassin's journey to creating a more positive media through daily travel videos.

Nuseir Yassin, founder of NAS Daily, is building a more positive media by sharing his daily one-minute travel videos. He believes in utilizing anger to show what the opposite can be and inspire change. Yassin quit his engineering job to pursue his passion for travel and document his journey. He created a one-minute video every day for 1000 consecutive days and eventually gained massive popularity. Despite facing societal stereotypes, Yassin shows that anyone can achieve their dreams with hard work and dedication. His story highlights the importance of pursuing your passion, taking risks, and making the most out of every opportunity.

    • The Inspiring Story of Nuseir Yassin and NAS Daily's Global ImpactTaking risks and following your passion, even if it goes against societal norms, can lead to success and making a positive impact on a global scale.

Nuseir Yassin embarked on a 1000-day journey to show the world from his perspective, creating the NAS daily concept that has millions of followers. With a video created daily, Nuseir traveled to different countries and shared his experiences with the world. His parents were initially not supportive of his decision to pursue this path, as he was making more money than them at Venmo. Nevertheless, he persevered and continued to create videos. The story of NAS daily highlights the importance of taking risks and pursuing one's passions, even if it means going against societal norms and expectations.

    • Success through Consistency, Hard Work, and Belief in OneselfDedicate time each day to work towards your goals, even during personal emergencies or holidays. Believe in yourself and the power of views, not just dollars. Consistency and hard work can lead to success on social media.

Nuseir Yassin, the creator of Nas Daily, achieved success through hard work and a strong belief in his idea. He put in 14 hours of work every day, regardless of weekends or personal emergencies, to make a one-minute video daily. Yassin had a strong belief that gaining one person's support could lead to millions and that views are more powerful than dollars. He structured his day well, with specific hours for filming, scripting, and editing. With this dedication, he became successful on social media platforms, whereas many others fail to gain traction. He proved that consistency, hard work, and belief in oneself can lead to great success.

    • Nas Daily: Iteration, Perseverance, and Balance for SuccessKeep going, keep improving, and stay balanced in your approach to content creation. Focus on your mission and adapt to feedback, but always strive to bring positivity and call for peace.

Nuseir Yassin, the founder of Nas Daily, shares his journey to building his audience, which involved iterations and constant improvement. While his first 270 videos didn't bring in a significant audience, he persisted and gave himself 24 hours to correct mistakes. On day 270, he published a Facebook video about the affordability of traveling in Thailand, which went viral and gave him a significant following. However, Nuseir faced backlash for his videos that showcased Israelis and Palestinians living together, so he made it his mission to balance public views and call for peace instead of instigating more hatred and war.

    • Nuseir Yassin's Journey to Success: Perseverance, Team-Building, and Strategic PlanningBuilding a successful business requires perseverance and strategic planning, as well as building a strong and reliable team. Facing resistance is inevitable, but it is crucial to push through and find new revenue streams beyond social media advertising.

Nuseir Yassin's success with Nas Daily was built on the foundation of resistance and hate. He emphasizes that meaningful change cannot be achieved without facing resistance. Yassin's journey to success also highlights the importance of building a team and getting the right help to scale a business. When Yassin began his journey, he knew that he could not rely on his face and that building a business on top of social media was impossible. This led him to focus on migrating from his face to a company and finding different revenue streams beyond social media advertising. Overall, Yassin's journey reinforces the importance of perseverance, team-building, and strategic planning in achieving business success.

    • Building a Sustainable Company by Bringing People Together.Nuseir Yassin's company NAS focuses on creating stories that promote tolerance and inclusivity. They help nonprofits, governments, and corporations create content to tackle one of the world's biggest problems: division between humans.

After traveling for a thousand days, NAS founder and CEO Nuseir Yassin's main goal was to institutionalize what he built and create a sustainable 30-year company. He realized that building a company around himself was not sustainable, and he needed the support of a hundred people to build an organization that could make a difference. After three years of thinking, Yassin came up with a mission to bring people together and tackle one of the world's biggest problems: division between humans. The company's focus is on creating stories that promote tolerance and inclusivity, and they help nonprofits, governments, and corporations create content that brings people together.

    • Nuseir Yassin on Building a Successful Media CompanyNuseir Yassin attributes the success of his media company, NAS Daily, to deep storytelling. He has also created a community management software, NAS io, and an education platform, NAS Academy, which he believes will complement traditional education in the future.

Nuseir Yassin, the founder of NAS Daily, believes that deep storytelling is the key to success in the media industry. He has built a technology company over the last two years and created NAS io, a community management software that allows users to monetize their communities. NAS Academy, his other venture, is a cohort-based education platform that runs on the same software, where people are taught by creators to learn everything about creating viral videos. Nuseir believes that digital universities will complement traditional education in the future. The NAS company's revenue in 2020 was $11 million, with $7 million coming from the production of NAS daily videos.

    • NAS Daily, NASA Academy, and NAO: Revenue Drivers and Ethical Dilemmas in Government RelationsWorking with governments can be challenging when navigating ethical dilemmas. NAS Daily's personal compass guides their approach, which may differ from an American perspective. It's important to consider and avoid promoting any country's human rights violations.

NAS daily and NASA Academy have been major revenue drivers, while the newest addition NAO has a scalable model and potential to grow rapidly. When it comes to working with governments, NAS daily's rule is to only promote tourism and positive aspects of a nation, avoiding political discussion. However, there are certain lines that cannot be crossed, such as promoting a government's positive culture while ignoring human rights violations. What is considered taboo varies from country to country, and NAS daily follows its own compass that may differ from an American perspective. Dealing with ethical dilemmas is a challenge, but having a strong personal compass can guide one through it.

    • Understanding Ethics and Global Landscape as a Content CreatorFocus on innovation and creativity regardless of government affiliation, explore diverse roles that go beyond being on camera, and create content that highlights hobbies and interests instead of chasing views.

As a content creator, it is important to understand the global landscape and the ethical considerations of working with companies or governments. While in certain countries, it may not be possible to separate the private and public sectors, it is crucial to focus on the innovation and creativity a business is offering instead of its government affiliation. The world of content creation is still in its early stages, and there is immense potential to create jobs beyond just being in front of the camera. From research and script writing to community management, every role is equally important in creating quality content and building sustainable careers. Aspiring content creators should aim to create content that highlights their hobbies and interests, and not just focus on creating content for content's sake.

    • The Future of Content Creation: Shifting Towards Local and ValuableAdvertising-based content is not sustainable, but local and valuable content can build self-sustaining communities and create new jobs. The future of content creation lies in tackling important issues such as healthcare, medicine, government, and politics.

Local content creation is the future, with opportunities for educational content, travel, and more, as there is potential for 195 more Hollywoods to be created. Advertising-based content creation is a flawed and fraudulent model that won't work in the future. Instead, self-sustaining communities can be built around valuable content, creating new jobs and sustainable livelihoods. As for the future of content creation, Nuseir Yassin plans to shift his focus to life and death issues, such as healthcare, medicine, government, and politics. Private sector involvement will only be meaningful to him for the next 15-20 years.

    • Nuseir Yassin's Vision for NAS Daily: Building a Sustainable EcosystemNuseir Yassin aims to create an ecosystem of companies that support each other under the NAS brand in technology, media, travel, and other industries. He emphasizes the importance of making a positive impact on society and creating solutions that make a difference in people's lives.

Nuseir Yassin, the founder of NAS Daily, believes in building an ecosystem of multiple companies that compliment and support each other, similar to the Asian way of building companies. He envisions building products in technology, media, travel, and other industries, all under the NAS brand. His 30-year vision is to create a sustainable NAS ecosystem that lives beyond his life and has a positive impact on society. He emphasizes the importance of creating solutions that make a difference in people's lives and believes that joining a government to create life and death solutions is much more powerful than creating YouTube videos. Nuseir Yassin's ambition and vision for NAS Daily is to build it into the next Virgin Group.

    American Giant: Bayard Winthrop

    American Giant: Bayard Winthrop

Bayard Winthrop founded American Giant in 2011 with the simple idea to sell clothes made entirely in America at a time when most apparel manufacturing had moved overseas. The first struggle was finding all the components—the cotton, the buttons, the zippers, the rivets; the next was finding people to actually do the work—the dying, the napping, the sewing and the finishing. Once Bayard did all that he ended up with his first product, a plain hooded sweatshirt. But soon after a viral article proclaimed it “the greatest hoodie ever made” Bayard faced a  backlog of orders that took him almost three years to fulfill. Today, American Giant has expanded their line to include all the basics: t-shirts, denim, flannel, and accessories, still entirely produced in the U.S.

Spin Master/PAW Patrol: Ronnen Harary (2021)

Ronnen Harary built a 4 billion dollar toy company without relying on market research or focus groups. Instead, he believed wholeheartedly in intuition: the "ah-hah" moment that comes from thinking like a 7-year old. Over a 25-year period, he and his Spin Master partners launched innumerable hit toys and amusements, including Air Hogs, Bakugan, and the smash hit franchise PAW Patrol. Spin Master's journey began in the mid-1990s, when Ronnen and his friend Anton Rabie began selling the Earth Buddy, a chia-pet-like novelty gift made of pantyhose, sawdust, and grass seed. Today, it's a publicly traded company with a portfolio that includes TV shows, video games, and toys ranging from puzzles to plush.

    Dave’s Hot Chicken: Arman Oganesyan

Dave’s Hot Chicken began as a tiny pop-up, selling spicy chicken tenders and fries from a tent in East Hollywood. Their homemade take on Nashville Hot Chicken was an overnight sensation in a city that had barely heard of it, and within days, co-founder Arman Oganesyan and his partners were working frantically to serve the long lines out front. ECKO UNLTD and COMPLEX: Marc Ecko

ECKO UNLTD and COMPLEX: Marc Ecko

Growing up in the ‘80s in New Jersey, Marc Ecko loved hip hop, graffiti art, and painting t-shirts for friends. His passion soon bloomed into a full-on business: ECKO UNLTD, a streetwear brand known for its iconic rhino logo. By the 1990’s, the brand had become a cultural force, but not without its share of bad deals, daunting debt, and a close brush with bankruptcy.

Eager to keep innovating, Marc launched COMPLEX, a media company hyper-focused on “convergence” culture: hip hop, fashion, sports and pop culture. Within a decade, COMPLEX had weathered the financial crisis, and emerged profitable. After being bought–and sold–by Buzzfeed, it was purchased by a video shopping company for over $100 million, and ECKO UNLTD just celebrated its 30th anniversary.

    CrunchLabs: Mark Rober

As one of the most successful creators on YouTube, Mark Rober doesn’t see what he does as a business. Instead, it’s a way to celebrate science in the most joyful way possible. While working as an engineer at NASA, he made his YouTube debut with a tutorial on how to make a gory Halloween costume with two iPads and a lot of duct tape. Over time, his videos became more elaborate, including a belly flop into a pool full of Jello, and a demo of a glitter-fart bomb to get revenge on porch pirates. Within a few years, Mark was teaching online science classes and selling subscription boxes for kids. Today, his YouTube channel has 5.5 billion views, 48 million subscribers…and–astonishingly, given that audience–less than 150 videos.
