    • What am I not seeing?Exploring new perspectives by questioning what we're not seeing in a challenging situation can lead to unexpected solutions

Sometimes the answers to our problems or challenges can be found by looking in unexpected places. Our human brain tends to focus on what we think we need to do or where we think something should be, but by challenging ourselves to consider what we're not seeing, we may discover new perspectives and solutions. This journal prompt, "What am I not seeing?" can be particularly useful when dealing with difficult situations or problems that seem unsolvable. By asking this question, we encourage ourselves to seek out the positive and consider possibilities that we might not have otherwise considered. So, next time you're stuck in a tricky situation, take a moment to reflect on what you're not seeing and explore new avenues that might lead to unexpected answers. Remember, our brains can be quite lazy, and we might find the solution in the very place we least expect it.

Robs Rant: Why Your Problems Are NOT Problems [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

There is no entrepreneur that doesn't face the problems that entrepreneurs face. It's how you view them that leads to the solution. In an honest rant, Rob shares with you the reasons why your problems are not problems and how you should really be perceiving them.

    KEY TAKEAWAYS

    • 99% of your problems aren't problems they're challenges, so find an upside and continue to grow.
    • Contextualise 1st world and 3rd world problems and change your mindset about the challenges you face in life. Your problems are not problems, they are first world challenges. The sooner you realise this the easier you will be able to overcome them.
    • Most of the people who do really well have struggled to get there have gone through ups and downs and grown because of it.
    • Some people think that that journey is really hard and it's really difficult, whilst others think it's easy and you can get rich quick. It’s thought that these are the only two extremes and it ping-pongs between them. But in reality, your journey and the problems you perceive to happen are quite different.
    • Look at your problems as an opportunity to find a solution. You have a value that others don't and if you can solve these problems that others can't you'll increase your reach, impact and revenue.

Problem Solving in Adulthood Part 1: Curiosity and Generosity

Problem Solving in Adulthood Part 1: Curiosity and Generosity

In this episode we begin a new series about productive problem solving in adulthood. In this first episode of our new adulthood series, we explore the importance of curiosity and generosity when trying to understand where other adults are coming from when there’s a problem at hand.

Listen to episode #3 of The PAWsitive Choices Podcast to learn more about the 3 Cs of positive connection.

Tips for Practicing Curiosity and Generosity:

Tip #1. Add to Your “Mental Generosity Bank”

Whenever you find yourself arriving late to work, not being friendly to others, or other situations in which you’re not being your best self due to factors outside of your control, add these factors to your “mental generosity bank.” The next time someone cuts you off in traffic or arrives late to a meeting, you can extend them grace and think that their actions might be due to the very situations that you’ve experienced in your own life.

     Tip #2. Communicate Curiosity

When someone is acting in a way that is outside of their usual behavior or if someone says something that is unkind, you can express curiosity to better understand where they are coming from and ultimately solve the problem. Examples of curiosity in conversations include:

    • “I’m curious why you ___”
    • “Help me understand what you mean by ______”
    • “Can you say more about _____?”
