Mini-Workshop: 4 Types Of Mentors You Need

Mini-Workshop: 4 Types Of Mentors You Need

One of the best things I did for my career was defining what mentors I need, want and have. From this came my “4 Mentor Method” that’s been featured in Forbes, Inc Magazine and of course on LinkedIn. In this mini-workshop, I break down what a mentor actually is, how to find mentors for each category, and most importantly how to utilize their knowledge and your relationship as you learn and grow in your career. I share the biggest mistake I see when it comes to mentorship (hint: what’s the difference between a mentor and an advocate?) and share a handy dandy list to help you brainstorm names for each of the 4 types. You can see all written notes here on my website if you’re more of a visual person like me. Whether you’re a new graduate, a leader looking to level up or a fresh face in your industry, this session is for you!

Getting Clear On Your Values With Darrah Brustein

Does saying “no” make your heart race? Does receiving a “no” after a big ask feel like a gut punch? Darrah shared her story about receiving a rejection from Brene Brown and how it completely shifted her relationship with the word “no.” Having started four businesses Darrah Brustein knows firsthand what it means to align and realign your goals and values. She joined the Coffee With Kim crew live late last year but the conversation was so good I thought we could use a few of her reminders as we head into Q3. My favorite advice she shared? Three questions to ask yourself before saying yes to an opportunity. I’ve used it so many times since! If you’re struggling to say “yes” wholeheartedly or “no” when it’s necessary, this episode is for you. Shoot me a message on Instagram or LinkedIn if it shifts your world the way it did mine!
