Ep. 15 - Buffering and Behavior
What is buffering?  Divorce stirs up so many emotions and often they linger.  In this episode, we explore all the different ways we turn to outside pleasures to suppress emotions and get a dose of dopamine.  This is a natural response to a grief but let’s talk about why and how we can change this behavior.

    Ep. 12 - Fear
Today we talk about fear and why it holds us back from making decisions.  No one goes into a marriage thinking they will get divorced but sometimes people grow apart or make choices the marriage can’t overcome.  If we don’t change our thought patterns and let fear control our decisions, we can’t create the life we want.  Join me as we dive into fear and explore those emotions deeper, understand them, and hopefully learn from them so we can keep moving towards happiness!

    Ep. 10 - Cultivating Positive Co-Parenting

    Ep. 10 - Cultivating Positive Co-Parenting

In this episode, I will give you advice on how you can create a positive co-parenting relationship and why it is so important for your kids.  For example, treat your relationship with your ex as you would a business partner- keep emotions out of it.  I know my situation is unique, but a civil partnership CAN be accomplished if we just focus on the goal – children who know they are loved.

Ep. 9 - Setting Clear External Boundaries

Ep. 9 - Setting Clear External Boundaries
In the last episode, we talked internal boundaries, the ones we set for ourselves. Today, we're setting external boundaries, meaning boundaries with others. How many of us need help in this area? In this episode, I'll help you define your boundaries and teach you how to communicate them clearly.

When we learn how to set boundaries and how to enforce them:
    • We start to take care of ourselves on a whole new level
    • We start to love yourself more
    • We start to respect the time that you have, how you want to spend it and who and how you want to deal with people

Reminder: What I'm teaching you as a life coach can be applied, not only to circumstances surrounding your divorce, but they apply to other circumstances and other people in your life.

Ep. 7 - The Myth of Happily Ever After

Ep. 7 - The Myth of Happily Ever After
As women, we’re conditioned to unrealistically, in my opinion, believe that when we marry the person of our dreams or what we think the person of our dreams is, that we will live this make-believe story, which includes a handsome prince who will take care of us, a home with a white picket fence, perfect children and maybe one Golden Doodle. Oh and we'll look amazing and never age.

We're taught that marriage is the perfect formula for our life ever-after of happiness and bliss. But I ask you, if life is a combination of good and bad, then how is it possible to have a happily ever after? In this episode, we talk about how to have an amazing life post divorce, even when it's not perfect.

    Ep. 6 - It's a 50/50 Life

    Ep. 6 - It's a 50/50 Life
One of the things I tell all my clients is that it's a 50/50 life. The sooner we get it, the happier we'll be. Life is 50% good, 50% not so good and knowing that is the key to some amazing days ahead. How you feel today about your divorce is not how you will feel forever -- I promise. So let's dive in.

    Ep. 5 - Setting Goals

    Ep. 5 - Setting Goals
After divorce, you're likely feeling a bit numb, sad, unmotivated.  There is a time and a place to mourn this, to permit yourself the chance to grieve and to not be hard on yourself. It's important to your healing and then it's important to taking action to your best future self and life.  So part of what I believe is important to becoming the best version of ourselves is to have goals.

    In this episode, we talk:
    • Why we need goals as humans and how they help us on such a larger scale and with a bigger  picture in mind to create a life you want.
    • How to set a defined goal that will motivate you to keep going
    • How to create a system that will help you achieve any goal
    • What you can do to fee more happy, healthy and balanced

If you don't have a purpose for the future, if you're not striving towards certain goals,  then the present doesn't have any meaning. I'd love to hear more about your goals. Message me here and let's talk!

Ep.3 - Taking Your Power Back

Ep.3 - Taking Your Power Back
We're talking one of my favorite subjects, I hope that it rocks your world as much as it did mine.

    I call this the manual.

Think about it: You know this very thick manual that you've written for your ex, have you ever let him see it or read it? Does he know what he's supposed to do in order to operate himself in your life post-divorce so that his relationship with you worked correctly? When I ask this of my clients, I get this perplexed look. The manual is like a playbook or rulebook on how the other person should behave, what he should and should not do and a manual is basically your instruction book that you have written for someone else.

While that, in and of itself, is not an issue, it's when we are all tied up in letting our emotional state be dependent on whether this person follows the rules and expectations you've set in this manual that he has never even seen.

Today, we let go of the manual. Let's do this together.

    • How to stop playing the blame game
    • How to respond to comments that could fuel the flames
    • How to surround yourself with others who don't feed the victim mentality
