How To Live A Wild Faith with Carlos Whittaker

This week’s episode with Carlos Whittaker is so empowering.  He just released a book called “Enter Wild,” all about moving from safe and boring to living a wild-not-mild faith.  He has battled anxiety and shares some of the tools that have helped him overcome it; praying scripture over your life and promises instead of problems. He has become a voice we follow and respect so much when it comes to race and injustice in America.  If you don’t follow him, you should @loswhit :). The Heart Of Purpose with Desiree Siegfried

The Heart Of Purpose with Desiree Siegfried

We are so excited for this week’s podcast episode with Desiree Siegfried!  I got to zoom chat with her back in April, just as COVID-19 was getting crazy and we were a few weeks into quarantine. You may know her as ‘The Bachelorette’ from Season 9, where she shared her life with the world on national television... but lots has happened since then!  As a young woman searching for love while also searching for herself, and now as a momma of two boys and wife to the man she met on ‘The Bachelorette,’ Desiree opens up about her experience on reality TV, finding her identity in Christ, and why people-pleasing never works.  So pull up a chair and listen to Desiree’s story,  I know her faith journey is really going to encourage you!  Make sure and check out her podcast ‘Heart of Purpose’ and follow along with her on IG @desireesiegfried

Saints: Discovering Your True Identity with Addison Bevere

Saints: Discovering Your True Identity with Addison Bevere

How is your day going?  Chris and I hit the beach with the boys for a few days last week, and it was a refreshing change of scenery for us.  We had a chance to read and play and hang out together and it was just what we needed!  One of the books we read on our two-day getaway is Addison Bevere’s  Saints: Becoming More Than "Christians”.  I gotta admit, the title had us a bit stumped, but the message within explained and inspired us so much that we decided to have him on the podcast!

Addison (son of Lisa & John Bevere), believes it is time to become more than just cultural Christians and start seeing and living as the saints that we are.  Did you know that the word ‘Christian’ is only used three times in the New Testament, but the word 'Saint' is used over sixty times?  Paul starts almost every letter ’To the saints…’ and that’s you and me!  "Saints is not just a name for dead people, it is meant to be our new identity that shapes our destiny.  Saints are people who break down barriers between the secular and the sacred, and people who see the intersection of faith in everyday life".

We can’t wait for you guys to hear this podcast and let it reframe the way you see yourself.  We pray this message will equip you to see and live boldly as your saintly identity sinks in.

Ps. follow Addison on IG here @addisonbevere and go grab a copy of his book here linktr.ee/addisonbevere

How To Love Your Neighbor with Danielle Coke

How To Love Your Neighbor with Danielle Coke

We did something we’ve never done before - a live instagram chat with Danielle Coke, and turned it into a podcast!!  You have probably seen and been affected by her amazing artwork, and if you haven’t, go check out her page @ohhappydani.  She is a designer-turned-illustrator from Georgia, with a heart for justice and a love for Jesus and people.  Dani opened up about the micro-aggression she’s faced, for example; “You’re pretty for a black girl” or “is that your real hair?” -these are not things I’ve had to deal with before... We found this conversation so enlightening and life giving and we hope you do too.  Our prayer is that this conversation would help you see, hear and love your neighbor as yourself and that your awareness would lead you to action.

Heart Like You: A Conversation About Racism

Heart Like You: A Conversation About Racism

We want to press pause on our podcast schedule to talk about how we’ve been listening, learning, grieving and processing the racial injustice towards George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others in the world right now.  It’s been going on for a long time, but we are just now seeing it for what it is, and repenting for God to change our hearts.

We’ve never talked about this before, we aren’t going to have the perfect words to say, we don’t have all the answers but we’re learning.  Our prayer is that this very raw & vulnerable conversation would give you the courage to take a first step towards repentance and fighting injustice in your life.  We want this community to be a place to learn and grow together!

For a long time we told ourselves this wasn’t our issue, but it is.  We need to call racism by name and live the kingdom of God now.  No more passive compassion, it’s time to move into action!  On earth as it is in heaven... there is no racism in heaven; we have a lot of work to do on earth. Let it begin with me.

Strong Isn’t Wrong with Lisa Bevere

Strong Isn’t Wrong with Lisa Bevere

I remember the first time I heard Lisa Bevere preach.  I was so impacted by how passionate & confident she was, and it was clear where her confidence came from.  God’s Word was the foundation she was standing on - and the leopard-print shoes she was standing in definitely made me want to hear more :).  Lisa has always been known for saying it like it is, and this podcast episode is no different.  We talked about everything from motherhood (she raised four boys) to why women have been fed the lie that being strong is wrong.  In her new devotional book ‘Strong,’  Lisa says, "Too often Christian women are associated with weakness rather than strength. Sometimes religion has taught us to hide rather than to rise. It is true that we are called to be meek, but not weak.”  Amen sister!  I think you guys are going to love hearing Lisa’s empowering thoughts, and you should probably grab her devotional book as well!!  You can grab her book and follow along with her journey on her instagram feed, @lisabevere.  Hope you enjoy this episode!

Mother’s Day Tea with Jodi’s Mom

I’ve been having tea parties with my mom since I was a little girl, and now I’m a mom and it’s still one of my things to do.  So I thought, wouldn’t it be fun to turn one of our tea parties into a podcast and invite you into our conversation!  I’m so excited for you to meet my mom, Judi, as she shares her style of simplicity parenting, encourages us moms to chill out and slow down, and reflects on some moments she wishes she could do over!  She’s the best mom (I know, I’m biased) but I think you will appreciate her wisdom and the relaxed way she shares it.  Happy Mother’ Day!

How To Find Your True Calling with Paula Faris

How To Find Your True Calling with Paula Faris

Have you ever felt confused by the word ‘calling?’ Maybe you’ve always believed calling and career are the same thing; I know I’ve definitely struggled with that. When we signed our record deal and started touring like crazy, I found myself attaching my value to my job, and that led me down a road of rediscovering who I really am, apart from ‘Jodi the singer.’

This week’s podcast episode features Paula Faris, former ABC anchor and co-host of The View, who left her two dream jobs to pursue a path God was leading her down. Her new book, “Called Out,” is all about her personal journey to figure out who she was apart from her dream jobs by separating her calling into two parts: a vocational and a faith calling. If you’ve ever struggled with achieving & where your worth comes from, this episode will bring freedom to your life!

    Quaran-Tea with Elle Limebear

    Quaran-Tea with Elle Limebear

    Hi guys!

How is everyone quarantining?  We’ve never been home this much in our lives, so it’s definitely been a challenge trying to parent full-time and accomplish the things that we need to as a band. Everyday is a juggling act, am I right?  Some days flow, others flop, but we are learning a lot about about God and ourselves along the way.  We talk all about it in this week’s podcast episode, so I won’t give it all away now!  You can listen here:

Chris and I talk about how our quarantine is going and we also chatted with artist/worship leader Elle Limebear all the way from her home in Brighton, UK about how this season at home has been for her.  She is the daughter of Delirious? frontman Martin Smith, a newlywed and a youth leader as well as being an amazing artist.  Elle released a new album in February, and now she’s home off of the road with a truck load of them so make sure and support her and download her album “Lost in Wonder” here (G can you include LINK?).

And hey, If you need more amazing content to help you through this quarantine, check out Tanner Hobb’s podcast, Chasing Freedom ShowPodcasts, I know you will love her as much as I do!

Thanks for all your support, we couldn’t do this without you!

    We Launched A Book Kickstarter!

    We Launched A Book Kickstarter!

So...I wrote a book!  It’s a devotional book called “You Got This - A Guide To Ditching Perfect & Showing Up For Your Real Life.”  I’ve been working on it for the past couple of years, and actually you guys gave me the guts to go for it!!  Every time I posted a Motivational Monday video or verse of the day, you encouraged me to do more.  So, I’m doing more!

The idea for this book really solidified when I became a mom, and continued to be an artist, and tour with my family all at the same time.  I had a moment backstage when I was nursing Ziggy and trying to fit into my skinny jeans and I was just falling apart from the pressure of trying to be perfect.  Ever been there?  Holy Spirit whispered to me, “You don’t have to have it all together, because I’m holding you together.”  From that moment on, I’ve made it my mission to let others know that being strong is just obediently showing up and letting God use you.  That’s what every page of this book is about, and I need your help to bring this dream to life.

I had no idea what a financial undertaking this would be, as Chris and I decided to do this on our own (yikes!).  By the time we paid all the legal, printing, design, and shipping fees, we’re looking at $10,000!  This is a huge step of faith for us, and at a really crazy period in history.  I was feeling really discouraged about this timing, until God reminded me that this is a season when everyone needs a little extra hope and encouragement, so maybe it’s the PERFECT time.

We’ve come up with some amazing packages to say THANK YOU for helping me make this book a reality.  To everyone who pledges a dollar or more, we want to give you a new song for free!  One of the coolest packages includes your name on the THANK YOU page of the book!  How cool is that?!  All the packages are listed at (link) and every little bit helps!  I cannot wait to get a signed copy of this devotional book into your hands!  Thanks for helping my dream come true, I hope this book helps you go after yours!

What It Really Means To Hear God Speak

What It Really Means To Hear God Speak

Have you ever had a friend or pastor say “God told me…” or “I heard Holy Spirit say…” and wondered what they actually meant by that?  I know I have!  I remember being a teenager and wanting that same clarity and conviction, especially when it came to big decisions.  I was (and still am) so scared of messing things up.  Now I’m a mom and I depend on Holy Spirit’s voice to guide me through every moment of my day and often find myself saying “I really don’t know what to do right how” and pausing for His response.

I thought it might be helpful to explain what listening and responding to God actually looks like in my life.  I’m no expert on this, but I’ve definitely had to depend on a voice beyond my own many times for small and big decisions, and through walking in relationship with Holy Spirit for a few years now I’m excited to share what I’ve learned.  I hope it’s helpful in your daily journey with the Lord!

What I Wish I’d Known About Feeling ‘Stuck’

What I Wish I’d Known About Feeling ‘Stuck’

I felt so stuck last year, and I was arguing with God about it - “You made me a go-getter and gave me these big dreams, why am I sitting at a standstill?” Ever felt that way?  Turns out asking God questions is a really good thing to do…because He answers!  Holy Spirit whispered back, “even when you feel stuck, I’m still moving.” Wow.  This revelation shifted my perspective completely.  What if we lived like God is always up to something and we aren’t stuck,  just on pause for His perspective?  What if we learned how to live with a heaven mindset instead of a human mindset, knowing that whatever we’re dealing with is an opportunity to know God in a new way?  In this episode, I share my journey from feeling stuck to being free, and the tools that got me there and help me stay in that place of freedom.  ‘Cause let’s be honest, this all sounds good but living this out in the everyday moments is when it gets real!!

The Secret Tool To Improve Your Marriage Today with Beth McCord

Do you ever feel like you and your partner can’t get on the same page?  You’re trying to love each other well but for some reason you’re just not speaking the same language?  Chris and I definitely went through this when we became a band and started a family in the same calendar year!  Or maybe you’re in a single season and you’re realizing that you have some unhealthy motivations that are exposed when you’re stressed out and busy - I’ve also been there!!  We all have a core longing that only Christ can fill - but when we try and fill it by ourselves, or expect our spouse, career or kids to do it, things get really out of balance!  The Enneagram is an amazing tool that when partnered with the gospel can help us become the healthiest versions of ourselves.  It’s not a replacement for the gospel, but a tool that helps us work towards wholeness in Christ.  Tune into this week’s podcast episode with Beth McCord, aka @yourenneagramcoach, as she shares her early marriage struggles and mom life/career journey and how the Enneagram gave language that helped her and her husband thrive.  She will help you stop committing “assumicide” about each other’s motives, and defuse conflict before it starts.  Beth & Jeff McCord’s latest book “Becoming Us” is available here https://www.yourenneagramcoach.com/becomingus

Ditching Food Drama and Loving Your Body with Kelly Leveque

It became the book I recommended to my friends and family and told everyone they had to read because it changed the way Chris & I and the boys eat...it changed the way we live on and off the road.
Plus - she’s friends with Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and a bunch of powerhouse celebrity women so I was so excited to get to chat with her.
