Is it okay to feel angry? Part 1

Is it okay to feel angry? Part 1

What happens to unchecked anger? Or repressed, internalized anger? And what do you mean by benefits? How can there be benefits to being angry?! Would you believe us if we told you that anger builds our self-esteem and self-image, allows for proper boundaries and restores our sense of self?!

Being willing to embrace difficult emotions such as anger rather than repressing or avoiding them is a sign of emotional intelligence. When we are emotionally intelligent (which is what we are all growing in ourselves by being and learning here), we do not resist anger but instead welcome it with curiosity and caution. Anger is potent, after all, and needs to be treated with care. Still, if understood and acknowledged, we become emotionally resilient.

Get ready to dig in, expand your knowledge and understanding of this emotion and watch this new information ripple throughout your life. So come on, jump into the world of anger with us, and we think you might even enjoy yourselves!!

    Counting Days: Helpful or Harmful?

    Counting Days: Helpful or Harmful?

Counting your alcohol-free days can be a great way to stay accountable and motivated to stay sober. It can also be a great way to track your progress and remind yourself how far you have come.

On the flip side, counting days can become a source of obsession and pressure, leading to feelings of guilt and shame if you slip up. The critical thing to remember is that it’s your decision to count days or not – and that your choice should be based on what’s best for you.

    The secret to stop cravings

    The secret to stop cravings

Cravings are a normal part of recovery; they are harmless and don’t have to be something you fear. Cravings are just thoughts or impulses that we interpret as physical urges.

It’s important to remember that cravings are just thoughts, and the power to overcome them lies in how we interpret them. If we recognize cravings as thoughts, we can learn to manage them more effectively.

In this episode, we look into the various strategies to help manage them, such as distraction techniques, questioning, deep breathing, and mindfulness, to name a few!

Coaches Lily and Zoë hope that opening our eyes to what really is will help you navigate this incredible journey to freedom from alcohol easier. Knowledge is power and you'll get loads of both in this episode.
