    Mandy

Hey gang!! Are you a fan of wild cult classics that make you say what the fuck? How about jars of blood and chainsawed guts and COCAINE and true love and poetry and planets? Hold on…what about hearing trained blacksmith Virginia go off on EVERYTHING?! NOW we’ve got your attention!! You can thank 2018’s Mandy for her furor!!

We follow the trials and tribulations of Red and drawer Mandy (ooo great name for a film!) as Nicolas Cage (star of The Croods) chews up scenery like gum!! He takes on the cult of the bipolar Jeremiah Shaw after watching him and his followers commit the most despicable acts of all! And let the vengeance begin!! Tigers...well...tiger!! Weird biker demons!! Wasted cigarettes!! Favorite shirts!! Even Bulbasaur comes by to check it out! You can actually FEEL the vibrations caused by Virginia’s eyerolls through your speakers!! Is there a more real man than the fueled by revenge Red? Why did Virginia’s sucky high school fail her? Could Virginia be MORE exasperated?!?! (Spoiler alert: probably)

Ultimately, we just should have said Cheddar Goblin for this description…his beauty is not tainted in the slightest!

    Happy Death Day 2U

    Happy Death Day 2U

Remember pre-pandemic times, when people could gather in theaters and be annoyed by everyone around them? Well, we did it (84 years ago) to watch and synopsize Happy Death Day 2U! (You might hear us mention that trip a couple of times…)

After the events of Happy Death Die…we mean Day (which we give a quick summary of…you'll wish we’d talk this long about ALL the movies we discuss), you’d think everything was solved. But SURPRISINGLY, they weren’t!! Monday the 18th is BACK, along with the Bayfield Baby/Babyface Killer!! Scawed Widdle Bayby and Crazy White Girl talk about Quantum Mechanics…which goes poorly. BUT how can we be dumb; we don’t even have brains! Try to follow along as we discuss creative deaths, the horrible hospital in their vague college city, anomalies in both time AND statistics and why Troy refuses to say "bitch" when he literally says it all the time!! (This pandemic has changed all of us for the better…or worst.)

Are churros the new garlic bread? What DOES YooHoo taste like? Most importantly, what exactly IS the Buttermilk Effect?! Listen over and over again for the full HDD experience WITHOUT dying…maybe…

    Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

WE ARE TV AND A MOVIE AND WE ARE HERE TO MAKE YOU THINK ABOUT MOVIES AND MAYBE LAUGH AND STUFF!!

This week we travel to scenic Toronto (described to us once as “like New York City but clean”) to follow the torrid (lukewarm?) relationship of Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers!! Virginia’s pick has it all! MUSIC! QUESTIONABLE DATING!! COINS!!! Watch Scott tear through some evil exes in order to gain the favor of his hair color-rotating love. Hear us engage in UNcreative swearing as we weave through this maze of late-2000’s teenage angst and predicaments. How much does Virginia know about Edgar Wright, the director of this film? What is with the haircut obsession? What does Ramona even SEE in Scott?! WHY IS THERE NOT MORE TALK ABOUT GARLIC BREAD?!?! Please be in lesbian with this episode and we promise not to punch you into a million billion coins!

Sorry to all the Carols and Karens out there…except for the ones who don’t know better.

    Dirty Dancing

    Dirty Dancing

Heeeeeeeeeeee-AAAAy Baby!! We promise to not put you in a corner in this week’s episode of TV and a Movie!! Troy has picked a movie for Virginia (the Baby to his Jake) that captured 1987’s heart and lifted it off the dance floor in a fluid romantic way…Dirty Dancing!

We follow the journey of Baby and Johnny, a mismatch of a good social justice warrior determined to make the world a better place and a dancing bad boy determined to make a better life for himself. Will they be able to make things work out? Have you ever even SEEN a movie?!

You’ll definitely discover what dirty dancing is in all its front-front glory! You’ll find out what we would do at a ‘60’s resort (and if the ‘60’s would even be ready for Virginia)! You’ll discover how we can totally relate to carrying a watermelon (the story of our lives)!

Join us as we try to figure out why Lisa was even ALLOWED to sing at the talent show, start our Ayn Rand book club, determine if Virginia has a heart and plug our new business venture, Eat Sleep Beach!! Plus a BRAND NEW segment guaranteed to fill the lingering void in your heart!!

(Technical information: there’s some thumping around the 46:00 mark or so. Unfortunately not “feel my heart” thumping but we know you’ll get through it.)

    Don't Breathe

    Don't Breathe

We’re back, baby!! And they said it couldn’t be done…wait…we meant SHOULDN’T be done. It’s Virginia’s week to pick and she picked a doozy…2016’s Don’t Breathe!

We follow the criminal tendencies of Alex, Money (what?) and Rocky/Roxy as they attempt one last heist in Detroit. (Shout out to all our Detroit peeps!!) But little do they know that this house holds many nightmares!

You’ll hear unofficial 3rd host Cheddar make his voice be heard. You’ll hear about who’s the most despicable in a movie FULL of despicable people. You’ll hear us try to figure out how a Gulf War veteran becomes psychotic Daredevil. You’ll learn the secret to committing a burglary of your own…oops, we’ve said too much.

We say farewell to a most beloved favorite segment. Why is this podcast guaranteed turkey baster free for the rest of its existence? Ultimately, why IS this movie called Don’t Breathe?! They literally breathe ALL THE TIME!!

(And yes, Troy met Paul Rudd and it was every bit as magical as you might expect it would be.)

    The Matrix

    The Matrix

Welcome to the inaugural episode of TV and a Movie!! Each episode, Troy (the dad of the equation) and Virginia (the daughter of said equation) take turns showing the other movies that they absolutely need to see in their lifetime.

This week, it’s Troy’s turn to pick. And he picked a movie that still influences current moviemaking to this day, 1999’s The Matrix!! (Virginia [AKA Lubey] wasn’t even born yet!!)

Listen as we follow Neil and his quest to become The One. You’ll learn what the Matrix is (maybe). You’ll discover how much Virginia knows about ‘90’s technology. You’ll learn our views about eggs on burgers! You’ll find out how amazed we are about a strong female character in a movie from 1999!!

Plus our regular segments like Fun Facts, Reboot, Movie Snax, Best & Worst and Hilly’s Random Office Quote! (By the way, I mention that our goal is to have each episode be 30-40 minutes long? THAT was a stone cold lie.)
