This week on the show Maine and Emil talk about the weeks pro BJJ events and major news from the IBJJF. We recap F2W 154, Preview F2W 155, Quintet Fight Night 5, and FLA.
In the news section we talk about how deserving the Ruotolo Brother are to be promoted to brown belt. E also talk about the IBJJF rumors that they will be adding heel hooks into No-Gi in 2021 at brown and black belt.
In the recap section of the show we talk about Fight to Win 154 headlined by Jon “Thor” Blank we discuss his leg entries and ultimately the sequence that lead to his heel hook win over Manuel Ribimar and the 185 pound title for F2W.
We talk about Junny Ocasio second title defense of the Bantamweight belt that saw a second submission victory via armbar triangle combo. We also discuss Nathiely de Jesus vs Maria Malyjasiak that saw a great toe hold to kneebar setup for the finish. We discuss some other matches on the card as well including a Teepee choke by Eric Naples.
In the preview section of the show we take a look at F2W 155 that sees Pati Fontes take on Grace Gundrum in one of her first matches at black belt. We discuss Jake Watson’s late replacement va Matheus Luna, and in the co-main event. Devhonte Johnson vs Vinicius “Trator” Ferreira.
We also preview Quintet Fight Night 5 and talk about the team battle format. As well as the events superfights, including a rematch of Hasim Rida and Igor Tanabe from an earlier quintet.
We briefly discuss FLA upcoming PPV as well.
In the outro section of the show Maine talks about his first duck hunting experience and Emil talks about waking up during his wisdom teeth extraction this last week.
