Potential Pick - Cocaine Bear
Chris and Taylor review the 2023 comedy horror film, Cocaine Bear, directed by Elizabeth Banks and written by Jimmy Warden. It is loosely inspired by the true story of the "Cocaine Bear", an American black bear that ingested millions of dollars of lost cocaine in 1985.After a 500-pound black bear consumes a significant amount of cocaine and embarks on a drug-fueled rampage, an eccentric gathering of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers assemble in a Georgia forest. The film stars Keri Russell, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Christian Convery, Alden Ehrenreich, Brooklynn Prince, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Margo Martindale, and Ray Liotta.

...about Solo: A Star Wars Story (1992)
A Star Wars movie that is both fun and funny? Say whaaaat???!!!
Directed by Ron Howard. Starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Paul Bettany, Jon Favreau and Joonas Suotamo.
How is the world wrong about this film?
From Bryan: Remember when Star Wars fans wanted a million Star Wars movies. As a kid you wanted to see a new one every year. Guess what? It happened in 2018 and no one showed up. SOLO doesn’t break any rules or add anything new to the franchise, BUT it is hella entertaining!! Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover don’t just do imitations of Han and Lando, they put new life into them. Sadly this was an undeserved box office failure. Grab the family, grab the popcorn and watch a Hollywood sequel that isn’t total braindead garbage. Oh and did I mention it’s not three hours long? Praise the heavens!!!

In the 31st episode of the Force Geeks: A Star Wars Podcast, Nate and Jake discuss actor Alden Ehrenreich's comments about whether a return as Han Solo is something he would consider for Disney+. Plus, rumors are taking off that Hayden Christensen has signed on to return in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Are there any flames behind all this smoke? And some say it's the end of the massive budget era for Star Wars films. Where that thought first took root and what's behind the thought on reducing budgets for future films. And finally, Star Wars The Bad Batch is getting the green light for a Disney+ series that is set to premier in 2021. Hear it all in this latest episode of The Force Geeks!
Ep 09 - Beautiful Creatures
"Beautiful Creatures is a 2013 American romantic gothic fantasy film based upon the 2009 novel of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl". - wiki
We would not call it romantic per say, rather a hormone driven novel. For once though the film was better than the book. Don't agree? Have a listen and see if we can convince you. We discuss everything from sex to the hard and soft rules of magic in this episode. It turned out to be more of a commentary on social norms that we intended but hey that is art for you. It was fun to make this episode and while I will never read the book again, the film is something I'll be happy to have on in the background. We all wish we could do magic right?
I swear a bit more than usual in this episode but what can I say? I am passionate about teenage literature. We are about half way through our Fantasy Season 1 so thank you for listening, we appreciate the love. Next week we will be releasing an episode on Philip Pullman's Northern Lights where we also have a special guest on the podcast so keep an eye out for that.
Until next time my bibliophiles.

Episode 44: Solo - A Star Wars Story Discussion
Scott and Oli do not exactly share the same opinion on the latest Star Wars film - SOLO. How much has knowing details of the film prior to viewing affected their experience? Find out on this week's episode of Ignorance is This!
There's also a point where Oliver asks Scott to rank the Star Wars films which means its fair games if commenters would like to roast him on his choices. Just putting it out there.
