does-meaning-matterDo you ever just look around and ask yourself “why?” or wonder what your journey is all about?  Does meaning serve a purpose in our daily lives? What does it mean to understand or have meaning in what we do? How can this focus on meaning have an impact in one’s recovery? What I may find meaningful may differ greatly from what is meaningful for you, and that’s the point. Finding meaning on an individual level at any specific moment can provide significant value to your quality of life. Let’s find out more with Sierra Tucson Psychiatrist, Jack McClane.

Managing Depression and Anxiety in Primary Care
Depression and anxiety are common in primary care and primary care physicians manage them regularly. In the Penn system, a collaborative care model known as Penn Integrated Care (PIC) allows for collaboration between mental health providers and primary care physicians.  In this podcast, we discuss this model with Dr Joseph Teel and Dr Eleanor Anderson, a psychiatrist. We also review the fundamentals of the management of depression in primary care.

Perks of the PIRC - Psychiatric Intake Response Center at Children's

Perks of the PIRC - Psychiatric Intake Response Center at Children's
perks-of-the-pirc-psychiatric-intake-response-center-at-children-sThe PIRC (Psychiatric Intake Response Center) at Children's is one-year strong, and has helped hundreds of callers in Alabama navigate the mental health system for children and teens. Born out of the need for guidance and direction when access to care can be a challenge, the PIRC is staffed by licensed counselors trained to help triage a caller's situation and recommend the next step. The staff has access to a database of mental health professionals in a five-county area (and beyond), and is available seven days a week. While it is not a suicide or crisis hotline, the PIRC can provide support and education, safety planning for current or future crises and resources. 205.638.PIRC (7472)
