What Value is Baptism to Little Children?

What Value is Baptism to Little Children?

What is the practical advantage to baptizing children of believers?  Christian baptism sets someone apart.  Baptism for infants, children or adults, means that the name of the Triune God (The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit), has been placed on them, and that they are part of the trinitarian faith.  It’s a powerful, countercultural declaration to the world that God is the one true God, and that we identify with Him and are trusting in Him for our salvation.

Why is Baptism Central to the Christian Life? (The Centrality of Baptism)

Why is Baptism Central to the Christian Life? (The Centrality of Baptism)

Baptism is anything but a throw-away topic for Christians.  It is Central to our daily walk and gives us hope as we see it for what it is.  Today, we learn that baptism is a Covenant Sign of Initiation.  Baptism for the believer becomes the “starting line” so to speak for the disciple of Christ.  And just in case you were wondering, a “disciple” according to John, is simply a life-long learner.

Episode 53 - Hypocrites, Dogs, & Pigs - The Best Sermon Ever Part 9

Episode 53 - Hypocrites, Dogs, & Pigs - The Best Sermon Ever Part 9

Hypocrites, Dogs, & Pigs, Oh My!! We continue in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount looking at Matthew 7:1 - 6. This is a very small part of Jesus' sermon, but boy, does He pack a hard punch in them! In these verses, we learn about judging. Does God use how we judge as the gauge to judge us? Is judging hypocritical? Is there ever a time to judge? We also will delve into Jesus' cryptic line, “Don’t give what is holy to dogs or toss your pearls before pigs." Hmmm . . .
