Episode 232 - Here I Raise My Ebenezer - A Rock Solid Foundation Part 9

Ever wonder what the hymn writer meant when he wrote, "Here I raise my ebenezer' here by Thy great help I've come. This is not just a song lyric. It's one of the foundational truths we find in Genesis chapters 22 - 23.  Join us for this episode as we delve into this truth as well as the foundational truths that we obey God because God is God,  Faith without obedience isn’t faith,  God can be trusted even when He cannot be understood, Our logical assumptions don’t discount our faith, they accompany it, and Our committment to Christ brings responsibilities and duties.

Prayer in the Midst of Loss and Grief: A Conversation with Kendra Von Esh (Special Podcast Highlight)

Prayer in the Midst of Loss and Grief: A Conversation with Kendra Von Esh (Special Podcast Highlight)

Imagine going through the pain of losing two closed loved ones in your life within a very short time. Kendra Von Esh has experienced two sudden losses within less than 2 months, and she's thankful for your support and prayers.

Kendra, grappling with the sudden departure of her beloved husband and the recent passing of her father, shared a heartfelt testament to the transformative power of faith, prayer, and community support in the darkest hours.

Kendra's journey of loss began with her father's departure on Christmas Day, a time of profound sorrow that deepened with the unexpected loss of her husband to a coronary blood clot. This double blow could have shaken anyone's faith to its core. Yet, Kendra's response was not of anger but of a profound turning towards God, inspired by her mother's wisdom to seek God's goodness in every trial.

In her time of need, Kendra reached out to the Morning Air family and experienced an outpouring of love and support that illuminated the power of communal prayer. Her story is a vivid reminder of how, even in the deepest sorrow, we are never alone. The Relevant Radio community, through prayers and messages, became Kendra's extended family, offering solace and strength. This collective embrace of prayer not only provided Kendra with comfort but also reignited hope and faith within her, showcasing the true essence of being part of a faith-driven family.

Kendra's resilience and unwavering faith highlight a profound message: God's grace is ever-present, especially in moments of profound loss. Her experience underscores the beauty of the Catholic community—where prayers, support, and love flow abundantly, reminding us of the healing power of faith and the importance of praying for our loved ones, both present and departed.

🙏 Let's Keep the Faith, Spread Hope, and Pray Together as a Family. 🙏

    The Three P's

    The Three P's

Here it is a new year - 2024. Perhaps you are one of the many, who with good intent, make new years resolutions and/or goals. We see areas in our life that we need to address like health, eating or other areas we just know we need to work on. The vast majority of people who set these goals with good intentions fail to do one important thing - plan. This is the same with following CHRIST JESUS. Christians can fall into this same trap. We can set goals, some may be unrealistic (ill read the entire bible 4 times this year). Others are great and accomplish-able, but we fail to plan in a realistic manner. Lastly, what we all need and especially the Christian is discipline. The greatest need for a believer is to value and prize knowing GOD the FATHER and the LORD JESUS CHRIST above all things and people. Scripture tells us we are in need of three primary goals to be in a good place to bear much good fruit. Those areas are:

    1. Plan - what is the reading plan your going to have in place and be able to stick to it realistically. You know you don't have to read the entire bible in one year...but it is really a tremendous benefit to your growth.

    2. Prayer - we need to be in prayer daily, often and immediately

    3. Participation - are you engaging and in fellowship with other believers/saints?

Join with me, Shane Sands, as I share on these three aspects needed in the Christian life. As always, leave a comment, like/dislike the video and if you have a thought/idea for a topic let me know. Grace and peace everyone.

    Take care.

    "I Wasn't Arrested, I Was Saved!" interview w/ REZUM

Happy New Year 2024! This is our first podcast episode release of this new year. God bless you and your families, thank you very much for the continual support.
On this episode you will hear the first ever guest host on the Wrong To Strong Chicago Podcast. Julio Mercado steps into the studio to interview REZUM, a multi genre Christian artist. Listen to REZUM share about his life growing up with his mom in Oklahoma and traveling to see his father in Illinois. This back and forth has it's up and downs and he finds himself getting into trouble at an early age. Alcohol, drugs and physical violence becomes his M.O.  This ends up landing him in jail on few different occasions. He ends up receiving probation for one such incident and then a few months later he ends up violating that probation on a similar charge. Behind bars, he begins to see God move in his life. At first things look like they are coincidences as he begins to see and receive answers to his prayers. He keeps trying to outrun God but finds himself running back into Him. Growing up in family of musicians and song writers, he has been writing songs since he was twelve. He now discovers that this is a God given gift, and that God is after him, to help turn his life around and to use his music to reach many for the Kingdom.

"The Battles Within" - interview w/ Jimmy Sutherland Jr.

U.S. Marine veteran Jimmy Sutherland Jr. shares his life story in this podcast interview. How life was growing up in East Chicago, Indiana. From wanting to get away from home as soon as he turned 18. He was physically strong and big on the outside but inside there was a lot of hurt, anger and depression that no one knew about. He tries to numb his pain with alcohol and women but that can only satisfy for so long. He thinks getting married and settling down can fix and change him but things only get worse.
One night, he clearly hears the devil tell him "to just end it, what is he waiting for. That he is a loser as a man, family man." Jimmy takes the bait and puts a loaded 45 in his mouth and pulls the trigger. Tune in to hear this man's story of hope, redemption and the freedom and joy he experienced when he allowed God to work in his life.
