I’m Looking For The Woman In The Mirror: Who’s the First Black Queer Woman YOU Encountered? EP. 35

I’m Looking For The Woman In The Mirror: Who’s the First Black Queer Woman YOU Encountered? EP. 35

    Hey Everyone!

It’s Women’s History Month, aka Women’s History 24/7 365 with a concentration in Black Queer Womanhood because that is the life in which we reside.

So in celebration of Women's History Month we decided to take the time to reflect our first encounters with Black Queer Women and how the representation of Black Queer Women has impacted our lives. While making this episode we unearthed just how important the representation of Black Queer Women has been to us. That representation was found to be the key to unlocking misguided truths and the freedom to just exist.  We found that seeing someone who looks like you living freely in their truth gives permission for you to do the same. So in this episode, this podcast, and in our lives in general, we are doing what we can to be proud representatives to those who need it.

The agenda for this episode: THE DIC

Is always to DIC’ it down. Define, Impact, Cope.

This episode we will provide our personal definitions of a Black Queer Woman and name the first Black Queer Woman that we saw.

Then we will discuss the impact of seeing Black Queer Women in our lives

And Lastly, we talk about how we cope with our definitions and the impact of Black Queer representation on our lives

We make each section clearly known, so feel free to pause throughout the sections to give yourself time to answer. If you want to. Maybe even jot down your answers and thoughts. Do what feels right for you.

Do You Remember The Time: What Defining Moments Changed Your Life? EP. 34

Do You Remember The Time: What Defining Moments Changed Your Life? EP. 34

    Hey Everybody!

We have so many expansive experiences throughout our lifetimes that it is hard to remember them all, but the few that remain with you seem to form the core, the foundation, the backing of who we are. That why the sayings "Let's take a walk down memory lane" and "Do you remember the time? " are so important. We write songs about it and erthang. But do we ever take the time to deeply reflect on how those memories or "moments" have shaped who we are?

So, for this episode, we are back with a really POWERFUL, vulnerable, and reflective stance on some of the most formative and impactful moments in our lives, sans judgement. We take a candid look at how these moments shaped our experiences, beliefs, processing, and our lives on a whole.  We hope you all join us as we DIC down our defining moments!

The agenda for this episode: THE DIC

Is always to DIC’ it down. Define, Impact, Cope.

This episode we will provide our personal definitions of a "Defining Moment".

Then we will discuss the impact that these moments have had on who we are, how we process, what we believe, and just our lives in general.

And Lastly, we talk about how we cope with our definitions and the impact of these life shaping moments.

We make each section clearly known, so feel free to pause throughout the sections to give yourself time to answer. If you want to. Maybe even jot down your answers and thoughts. Do what feels right for you.

The PRIVILEGE of BLACKNESS EP. 33

The PRIVILEGE of BLACKNESS EP. 33

Happy  Black History 24/7 365!!!!  For this episode, which is commemorating the acknowledgement of our history by the otherly colored folks in this country, we have decided that a DIC down of our privileges and advantages of being a black person would be put to good use.  We wanted to produce an episode that is uplifting, motivational, and fosters a sense of empowerment and self-love/value, something that we can take with us beyond black history month and into black history 24/7 365 where we reside!

The agenda for this episode: THE DIC

Is always to DIC’ it down. Define, Impact, Cope.

This episode we will provide our personal definitions of Privilege and identify a privilege of being a black person…PERIOD.

Then we will discuss the impact of that privilege in our lives.

And Lastly, we talk about how we cope with our definitions and the impact of the privilege of being black in our lives.

We make each section clearly known, so feel free to pause throughout the sections to give yourself time to answer. If you want to. Maybe even jot down your answers and thoughts. Do what feels right for you.
