Crack the Code to Unstoppable Progress: A Deep Dive into James Clear's Atomic Habits | Ep. 35

In this episode of The Built Bodies podcast, Alan reviews the key points from the book Atomic Habits by James Clear. He personally used this book to break his bad sleeping habits and junk food habits. If you're struggling to get rid of bad drinking habits, junk food habits, or skipping the gym, then this podcast is a great place to get started!

If you're interested in the book, you can purchase it on amazon. I have no affiliation with James, I just love the book!

    Video Transcript:

“Everyone has them. Problems we struggle with no matter how hard or how long we try.

Struggling to keep commitments, struggling to lose weight, struggling with spending, self-destructive behaviors, addiction - whatever it is, patterns of defeat can come to define our lives.

We want to change, we have tried to change, but we have failed so many times and start to think that we can’t change. Albert Einstein observed, “No problem can be solved from the same consciousness that created it.” When you are caught in a pattern of defeat, don’t fall into the trap of working harder at the same failed solutions.

How do we break free from the patterns of defeat that try to rule our lives? The key is to respond, intentionally and strategically. How do we do this? Be proactive. Prepare. If you are caught in the moment, you have already lost.

Reflect on how you would like your life to be different, and how you want to respond when your patterns of defeat rear their ugly heads.

Overcoming our patterns of defeat leads to tremendous personal growth. Embrace this wisdom, and you won’t even recognize yourself six months from now. What seems like a mountain of a problem today, will appear as a speck in the rearview mirror.

So remember, don’t just be yourself, be the-best-version-of-yourself.”
