We were at the Citi Field home opener! We got to meet the Mayor of NYC, enjoyed a 2-1 win over Nashville, and chopped it up with some of the players after the game in the locker-room. We're looking forward to the next game at Citi against FC Dallas this weekend.

It'd be impossible to not touch on the NJRB incident over the weekend, so we share some early thoughts on the situation, the league, and the response from the Red Bulls and their player/manager. We also get into the game that was Atlanta vs NYCFC in the Bronx. We weren't able to keep Almada quiet, and it was definitely a draw that felt like a loss.

We travelled to Gillette Stadium to watch NYCFC play the NE Revolution! It ended up being a beautiful day for some soccer, and leaving NE with a point isn't terrible. Richy looked amazing, Turnbull balled out, and Thiago Martins continued to quietly dominate.
We're looking forward to Atlanta at Citi Field, it's gonna take a lot to contain Thiago Almada.
NYCFC came out looking as flat as ever, but we can't catch a break with these MLS refs. The softest penalty awarded gives Houston +3 points and sends us home packing. That said, it was positive to get Richy going, he was one of the only players that looked up to it on the night. We're looking forward to the Revs game, hopefully he can get some more minutes.
After a masterful showing in Costa Rica, and fresh off another master class against New England, the boys in Black and Gold take on Alajuelense yet again for their 4th match in 12 days, this time at the friendly confines of BMO. We cover both CCL matches here on Episode 236!
Winning the first leg comfortably, 3-0, and on the road, no less, meant that all LAFC had to do was avoid an epic collapse at home to move on to the quarterfinals of the 2023 CCL tournament. So what does LAFC decide to do? Make all of the millions (and millions!) sweat, of course.
After giving up early goals in both halves, LAFC waited until the 83rd minute to put things on ice. Carlos Vela, El Rey himself, found himself 1v1 with the incredibly capable Costa Rican keeper Leonel Moreira. Unlike most of this match, there was nothing Moreira could do to keep the sheet clean, and Carlos's goal propels LAFC to a date (actually, two!) with the Tristan Blackmon and the Vancouver Whitecaps in April. We've got (at least) two more CCL games on the docket this season!
We know this one is a little long, but also on this episode, Filly details his German ancestry as LAFC inks a deal with German giants Bayern Munich, Scarf regales us with tales of his trip down river in Costa Rica, and the boys get set for their 4th podcast in a week and a half! There's nothing like March Madness, in both the NCAA and MLS!
It was great to be back at Yankee Stadium for NYCFC's home opener, & to get 3 points against a tough side. We thought the team looked okay overall, but there are some things to be worried about. We also asked cushing a question in the post-game presser.

We couldn't have possibly imagined we'd have the opportunity to interview Brad Sims, attend Homecoming Gala's, or bring on players of the past like Rocha to have a conversation. It's really been a week of big moments & stepping out of our comfort zone to create some content.
We're looking forward to 90 more, 900 more, or as many as our voices will let us share. <3
NYCFC IS BAAAAAAACCCCKK!..... but what an underwhelming game. There were some positive takeaways, like Haak, Cufre & Barraza's performances, but that's never how you want to start. We're looking forward to our away game against Chicago so the boys can get right. COYBIB! Also, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV+ is amazing, MLS 360 was incredible. Oh, and keep an eye out for Episode 90 later this week, we've got a Champion joining us.
