Find out why you may want to question your career, life choices and LUGGAGE wisely.  Remember that not everyone around you is a real person, some of them are fake and plastic and very similar to life size Ken and Barbies.

What are we saying? Maybe even we don't know, due to this awful brain cloud we collectively have. Grab the correct hat and your watertight steamer trunks cause this one is gonna get deep...

Deep Cut: Clueless (1995) [Remix Edition]

I mean what's another excuse to rewatch Clueless for the millionth time than to do a remix of our original episode. We didn't have format back then so me and Jai just had to talk about it again!

More behind the scenes! More costumes! More everything!

119: There's no need to be snotty! | Dick (1999)

No, not that kind of dick. We're talking the Watergate centered comedy from the glorious film year of 1999. This is my first time watching and I'm so glad Charles recommended it for the episode. We didn't know much of the real story but would like to believe that two teenage girls really did break open the case.

Me and Charles got into the MANY fashion looks, hilarious quotes and moments, and marvel over the comedic genius of Kirsten Dunst & Michelle Williams.

Off topic rants include: silly tv fashion, early Project Runway seasons, unwatchable movies, and our own Watergate theories.

    Swordfish

    Swordfish
Are you searching for that special movie that openly invites you to log on, hack in, go anywhere, and steal everything? Then baby, you're in the right place because our latest episode has us gone in 60 mbps with Swordfish, the slick action thriller that once again challenged our assumptions on the lengths to which John Travolta would go to further embarrass himself. But before we jack into this wannabe Matrix...this week's Blue Plate Special finds us loving John Sayles's 1987 union masterpiece Matewan, waxing nostalgically at the 2000 Disney Channel original movie Phantom of the Megaplex, and taking issue with the very existence of the deeply stupid 2000 mob "comedy" The Crew. Speaking of questionable cinema from the early 00s, our discussion and commentary of Swordfish parses what exactly such a work is attempting to posit on a moral or ethical level, evaluates the extent to which this movie's premise and stylings ape a post-Tarantino cinematic philosophy, and assess the extent to which it's the least bit justifiable to fashion a movie about terrorism on the eve of 9/11 as smugly entertaining as this. Come for the pretentious monologues on the unreality of the opening moments of the 21st century, stay for the latest inductee of Overlapping Dialogue's Hall of Fame (the Immune) and a special announcement at the episode's conclusion about a very brief but special upcoming series of episodes we have in store... Feel free to skip to 1:58:22 for the beginning of our audio commentary. Blood Simple (1984)

    Blood Simple (1984)

The film Blood Simple (1984) was a launch pad for a lot of top Hollywood talent including Joel and Ethan Coen, Barry Sonnenfeld, and Frances McDormand. It's also a pretty solid flick. Kinda like the Evil Dead of film noir. Jason Furie and Adam Roth review and discuss this dark, gritty, and violent film featuring an excellent ensemble cast. They also try and figure out if it has anything to do with JTT or The Lion King. Maybe?

    Running Scared (1986)

    Running Scared (1986)

Gregory Hines and Billy Crystal play two wise-cracking Chicago cops who are trying to take down the local drug kingpin played by Jimmy Smits...

But honestly….the plot doesn’t really matter in this as it’s ALL about the chemistry between our two leads, along with some very memorable action sequences.

This ‘80’s action romp is directed by Peter Hyams while also starring ‘80’s mainstays Dan Hedaya, Darlene Fluegel, and Steven Bauer – it might very well be among the best buddy cop movies ever!

    Ep. 39: Running Scared (1986)

    Ep. 39: Running Scared (1986)

Zach & Zo witness the mean streets of Chicago where two police detectives try to nail a would be drug kingpin before they retire to Key West, Florida to open up a bar and, hopefully, get robbed a lot. Seriously, they actually hope that their bar gets robbed so that they can act like police and fight criminals while bartending.  Zach & Zo also witness the infectious, positive chemistry by the two lead actors Gregory Hines and Billy Chrystal. This is an action comedy that is not to be missed!

074: You aren't really anybody in America if you're not on TV. | To Die For (1995)

It's been forever since I've seen this dark comedy with a literal mid 90s dream wardrobe. We get into Mikey's first viewer thoughts, break down (almost) ALL her outfits, and dive into the real life true crime story it's based on.
