In order to have a marriage that lasts, you've got to make it a priority. That means above and before kids, work, and anything else that might come before your spouse. If you wait until your kids are grown or your life settles to pour into your marriage, there won't be anything left to salvage. If this is hard for you to wrap your brain around, remember that your spouse was there before anyone else and will be long after all else is gone. 

Make date night  priority! It is so worth it.

ADRIAN!!! ADRIAN!!! 40+ years later, and people are still running up Rocky's steps in Philly and yelling out his girlfriend's name. Rocky (1976) is the next movie in our quest to watch all 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. This isn't just some dumb sports movie; it's a love story. 

It is time for a new edition of 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. The 2020 Edition has been released, and we discuss the movies that have been added and the ones removed to make room for them. 

They're heeeeeeere! We are celebrating the month of October by covering horror/ghost movies! The first one up is Poltergeist from 1982. This movie was so scary when we were younger, but does it hold up after all these years? This is our 34th movie out of 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die.

This week we had the luck of picking Ferris Bueller's Day Off written and directed by John Hughes. Being a couple of Gen Xers, we completely love and totally relate to this movie (and basically all John Hughes movies).

The Player has the distinction of having the most Oscar winners in one film: 12 actors/actresses and 1 producer/director. Does the star power overshadow the plot? The fashion, the music, the issues, the technology are all sooo 90s, and the 90s were sooo awesome. What's in the box?!?! What's in the *&^# box?!?! We all know what's in the box, but it doesn't make it any less exciting to watch Se7en over and over again. Directed by David Fincher, Se7en (1995) is quite a journey through the Seven Deadly Sins with a super satisfying un-Hollywood ending. No happily ever afters here! The movie still holds up after 25 years. Make sure to subscribe and listen to our review of Se7en! 

Hello listeners!! This week, we are discussing the 2009 James Cameron's soon-to-be part 1 of 5 epic, Avatar!! You read that correctly. Avatar is now planned as a 5 part movie series. So pull up Disney+ and reacquaint yourself with the original and listen to our thoughts!! 

Hey Spider! Dance that drink over here!! One of the best "true stories" ever that has been made into a movie. Scorsese at his best brings us Goodfellas (1990). DeNiro, Pesci, Scorsese, with a dash of Liotta makes this an amazing film. We might have gotten a little too into the movie as this episode might be a bit more explicit than others - the number of F bombs are drastically increased in this episode! 

This week, the 2015 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography - Birdman (or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) starring Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Emma Stone, Amy Ryan, and Naomi Watts. 

You could sum up this movie with one phrase: A cock in a frock on a rock. But this movie is oh so much more than that. Winning 1995 Oscar for Best Costume Design, this movie is visual eye candy. Combine that with some amazing writing and you get The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert! Our first international review, this Aussie film is quite a treat. We made a podcast...out of a DeLorean?!?! Yes, we sure did because this week we are talking about Back to the Future starring Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Listen to hear some historical perspective from 1950s v 1980s, what scenes did not make it into the movie, and our favorite parts of the film! 

"Son, you got a panty on your head." This is one of the best quotes in cinematic history written and directed by the genius that is the Coen Brothers. Raising Arizona (1987) is a timeless comedy that STILL has us rolling in our seats 33 years later. Nicolas Cage, Holly Hunter, Frances McDormand, John Goodman, and many others combine to create this tale of love. Of course, don't forget the yodeling. 

Now that the Oscars are over, we continue our quest to watch 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die. This week, we discuss Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors. This one is quite a departure from Woody Allen's typical comedies. Spoilers ahead!
