Finding the Beauty in Life After the Loss of a Child

Finding the Beauty in Life After the Loss of a Child
To close out Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, I sat down with Tasha Ruholl. Tasha was kind enough to openly share the losses and subsequent grief that she and her husband have endured. She speaks about how it was her grief that drove her to make a difference and help so many other families. Tasha wanted to give the gift of time to any other parents who have to endure the unimaginable path of losing a child by donating cuddle cots to 10 local hospitals. Additionally, she continues to honor their son, Daniel and their other 2 losses by working on the White Lily Project. Along with 3 other mothers who have endured loss, they are raising money to fund an Angel of Hope Statue. The Statue of Hope and healing garden will offer parents/family members who have experienced a pregnancy loss or the loss of an infant/child, a place to honor their loved one and find a sense of community with others who have experienced a similar tragedy.

You will not want to miss this episode as we discuss loss and grief, and how beauty and light can be restored within you after enduring a completely unexpected tragedy.

Lauren Boebert draws fire for comments to churchgoers on Joe Biden; Gay teacher fired at Catholic school
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO 3) remains a favorite target of the Left, as Mediaite hones in on comments she made to churchgoers about wanting to remove President Biden from office. Online scuttlebut accuses her of praying for his death, which is another gross embellishment by the mainstream media. Also, Dan starts a converation on whether a Catholic school in Lakewood was within its right to fire a lesbian teacher for having a romantic relationship with a woman that is in conflict with Catholic teachings.

Politoložka Monika Brusenbauch Meislová: Fatální se pro Borise Jonhsona stala aféra poslance Pinchera
Britský premiér Boris Johnson oznámil rezignaci na post vůdce Konzervativní strany, ministerským předsedou zůstane do té doby, než jeho spolustraníci vyberou nástupce. Rezignaci krátce před ním podala ministryně školství Michelle Donelanová, kterou Johnson jmenoval do funkce teprve v úterý. Johnsona k demisi vyzvalo několik dalších politiků. Co je k tomu vedlo a proč si Johnson funkci premiéra prozatím ponechá, komentovala ve vysílání rádia Zet politoložka Monika Brusenbauch Meislová z Katedry mezinárodních vztahů a evropských studií Masarykovy univerzity.

Prezident Miloš Zeman přijal dnešní demisi vlády premiéra Andreje Babiše (ANO). Kabinet ANO a ČSSD současně pověřil, aby prozatímně vykonával funkce do jmenování nové vlády.

068 Stephen Jenkinson – Overwhelming Beauty — and Being OK, Dying

068 Stephen Jenkinson – Overwhelming Beauty — and Being OK, Dying

Spontaneous poet, culture activist, and shamanic bard Stephen Jenkinson joins Terry to explore the totally disarming ordeal of bearing witness to death up close — both our individual mortality and our collective mortality. They also drop into felt contact with Terry’s present, uncertain situation — recently on his 70th birthday, Terry was suddenly informed that there was probably metastatic cancer in his lungs and he spent five nights in the hospital undergoing a series of tests. Now, almost a month later, there is still no clarifying diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment plan, so he’s learning to be in radical not-knowing, returning to the miracle of this moment, and this breath.

Stephen meets Terry in his characteristic uncompromising way, with tenderness, unflinching clarity, and humor. They wonder together about the overwhelming nature of beauty, and the vividness that dying well can bring to the living. Ultimately, they both confess that after decades and careers of practice, neither of them claim to be fully prepared for their own dying process. Its nature is to break us open. Even so, they both deepen in grief and gratitude, and learn to open unconditionally. As Stephen says, we can “get better at missing it” before life is gone.

Stephen Jenkinson is an activist, teacher, author, farmer and performing poet. He is the founder of the Orphan Wisdom School in Tramore, Canada and the author of four books, including Die Wise and Come of Age: The Case of Elderhood in a Time of Trouble. He’s also the subject of a documentary film Griefwalker. In 2015, Stephen created Nights of Grief & Mystery with Canadian singer-songwriter Gregory Hoskins. With a 5-piece band, they have mounted international tours and released three albums, most recently DARK ROADS and ROUGH GODS. They hope to begin performing again in June — make contact on his website to see if you might be able to attend. Most recently, a four-part livestream speaking series, A Generation’s Worth, was presented in Winter 2020.

Legend of Zelda - Busted Buttons Ep. 4

Legend of Zelda - Busted Buttons Ep. 4

Red and I start off with some of our thoughts and predictions for the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild sequel coming out on the Nintendo Switch. We then discuss some of the most annoying parts of the Zelda franchise.

Afterwards, we design a new villain for the franchise. How do we feel about finally getting a female antagonist? Do we want a villain in human form like Ganondorf or Demise? Would we rather see a large beast like Ganon or King Dodongo? How about a villain that possesses mostly magic like Twinrova?

We end by talking about our favorite dungeons and games in the franchise.

    SUMMARY
With the recent loss of Burt Reynolds, who died a few days ago and John McCain, who passed away about a week or so before that, I’ve been doing a bunch of thinking about life and death.

I’m finding more QUESTIONS right now, than I am answers, but today we’ll explore both.

In addition, I just can’t get the Tim McGraw song out of my head, Live Like You Were Dying. Great stuff we can learn from that song… and use it to take our lives to the next level. Enjoy!
