The MovieByte Podcast #92: Time To Start Over

The MovieByte Podcast #92: Time To Start Over
Listen in as Chad and TJ live the same day over, and over, and over, and over. But it’s worth it since the film they are discussing was fantastic. Edge of tomorrow may have been about reseting the day every single time, but it was anything but boring. It was in fact energetic and lively; and a lot of fun. Other topics of fun and discussion include the ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ soundtrack, ‘Pacific Rim 2’, Alamo Drafthouse Banning Google Glass, ‘The Boxtrolls’ trailer, an upcoming ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ film, and the upcoming Disney Lion King straight-to-TV movie, ‘The Lion Guard’.

    Edge of Tomorrow

    Edge of Tomorrow

Tom Cruise is back in Doug Liman’s Edge of Tomorrow, tripping through time and trauma on the road to defeat an alien horde. Here’s the weird thing about this summer tentpole: we all loved it. No kidding. Andy Nelson, Steve Sarmento, Tommy Metz III, and Pete Wright make up The Film Board this week and dish spoilerifically on the time loop architecture at work in the film, the action, the humor (yes, humor!), and the crucial end. And did we mention Emily Blunt? She's crushingly awesome in this film as the brute, delivering what so many films have only tried to build in a strong female hero. Go see this movie. Then go see it again. Then join us for a great conversation and a new Flickchart theme song from Tommy Handsome!
