    David

    David

Though an unexpected choice, David was empowered by the Spirit and killed the giant. God promised him an eternal throne and reign of peace and prosperity. David's story is not just triumph though, its equal parts prideful tragedy. For their to be an eternal reign of peace, Israel would need a new David. Jesus is the ultimate David who killed the ultimate giant and brings peace once and for all.

EP: 139 - The Buck of A Lifetime - Dave Payne's Cherokee County Giant

DCP - Also known as Dave Payne, is a Cherokee County resident and a life long friend of everyone at Talk About It Outdoors, has done the unthinkable - knocking over an absolute monarch of a buck right here in our home County of Cherokee. Using tactics implemented and learned, Dave struck a home run with his Muzzle Loader on opening weekend of the season, and this story is one to be heard. From making turkey calls, to traveling across the midwest, Dave has spent his life in the woods, and we reminisce on all sorts of things from our youth. Check it out.

Ep 77. Edible Fungi and Fairy Rings

Ep 77. Edible Fungi and Fairy Rings

My neighbor ate his volleyball – a Giant Puffball Mushroom, that is. I have one, too, that I've been monitoring in amazement, but eating it didn't occur to me. It turns out they are delicious.

In this episode, we chat about how to prepare Giant Puffball Mushrooms (Calvatia gigantean) and other edible fungi that are easy to ID.

Then we talk about Fairy Rings –circles of fungus that grow outward a few inches to several feet a year. Mushrooms, some edible, can develop outside of the rings after periods of heavy rain. Plus, there's fun folklore about Fairy Rings.

I'd love to hear about fungi you have found to feast upon. You can email me at AskMaryStone@gmail.com.  Thanks so much for tuning in :^)

Online Big Blue Bringing you the Best in New York Giants Sports talk and entertainment! While I am a huge New York Giants fan I base my opinions via “status”. I look at statics, analytics and review game film. I spent over 25 years off and on working in the sport for Two NFL teams, Two AFL teams and two known worldwide networks in their NFL Divisions. You may not agree with my “take”, but rest assured I researched and sometimes even reached out to former NFL contacts before I based my conclusion. Some call me a homer, some say I am mean and hate the New York Giants, but I love my team and the sport! I just want to provide fact-based information in a timely matter and let you the New York Giants fans draw your own conclusion!
