    Work wasn't exactly thrilling as I had a love-hate relationship with it while working those W-2 jobs. 

    That all changed when I started my first business. I viewed work differently…it was a path to living my best life.

    Here's the thing: your tools and systems must evolve. 

    I found myself picking up new tools, using them for a while, and then feeling they no longer worked. 

    Why? Because I was evolving as a person. The systems that served me in the past might not help me reach my current goals.

    I used to beat myself up over it, but then I realized it's natural. So, I gave myself permission to keep exploring.

    Remember, your tools should serve you, not the other way around. Keep experimenting and evolving.

    I recently came across the term "mushroom employees." 

    It's a not-so-great approach where you keep your team in the dark and don't provide the nourishment they need to grow.

    In the past, when working for others, I often felt like a mushroom employee…no idea about the big picture and stuck with less-than-ideal tasks. 

    The result? Poor work and eventually wanting to leave.

    Good leadership means offering a vision where your team's aspirations fit. 

    Even if they don't want to start a business, they have dreams like making more money or taking on more significant roles. 

    It's your job to help them achieve those dreams. Make sure they have the resources, training, and support they need. 

    Fix what's missing before concluding they can't meet your standards.

    Avoid creating mushroom employees. Keep your team in the light, provide resources, and support their growth.

    A fulfilled team is more likely to help you reach your goals.

    Lately, I've noticed a trend on social media where entrepreneurs share complex systems that appear impressive but can obscure effectiveness. 

    The key is simplicity.

    Simplicity scales. You don't need intricate systems, especially in the early stages of a business. 

    You need to focus on sales, product improvement, and customer relations. Don't overcomplicate things; make offers, get customers, and refine your product.

    Remember, doing the work is often the most effective way to achieve your goals. Avoid the system simplicity trap and stay focused on progress.

    Just finished a coaching call that got me thinking about a topic I struggle with…conflict management. 

    I've always been conflict-avoidant and it triggers a physical response in me. 

    But here's the thing…in business and life, conflicts are inevitable. 

    One of the issues my student faces is being a people pleaser. He avoids tough conversations, which often leads to regret. 

    I believe significant growth happens after difficult conversations. 

    Whether it's with others or ourselves, these dialogues push us to change and evolve. 

    However, being aware of the physical signs when you're in conflict is crucial. 

    Instead of being overwhelmed by them, view them as signals. 

    It's not that something is going terribly wrong, but that your body is responding. 

    This awareness gives you back control.

    Start with the conversations you've been avoiding. By facing them, you'll experience growth on the other side.

    I got a cool question on YouTube recently…they asked how I come up with content ideas for my daily podcast. 

    With over 200 episodes released since January 2023, plus daily tweets and posts, keeping it fresh might seem challenging.

    Here's the scoop…Creativity is like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets. 

    I've been creating content since 2014, so don't compare yourself to my output if you're just starting.

    For fresh ideas, I rely on a "Story and Idea Bible." 

    I jot down events from my life and interesting concepts I stumble upon. Combining and reinterpreting these ideas often leads to unique content.

    I also believe in documenting over creating. Everyday moments can hold surprising insights. 

    Reacting to content you see on social media is another goldmine for ideas. 

    Creativity isn't just about inspiration; it's a skill you can nurture. 

    Flex that creativity muscle daily, and you'll find content flowing more effortlessly.
