How to Cope With Negative Events | Ep. 228

Today we’re going to delve into the art of navigating the tough times.

Now, I'm not here to peddle the "stay positive no matter what" spiel.

Reality can hit hard…and it's essential to acknowledge those moments.

Whether it's heartbreak, loss, or business woes, it's okay to feel the weight of these situations.

    So, what's the game plan?

We'll journey into the world of coping techniques and the surprising outcomes they deliver.

Because when the chips are down, we often adopt one of two methods: distraction or rumination.

And tough times are inevitable.  It's going to be how we deal with them that defines our journey.

The Best Way To Start Sales Calls | Ep. 226

The Best Way To Start Sales Calls | Ep. 226

In today’s episode, I’m sharing my ultimate sales secret.

I'm in the real estate game, pitching investment opportunities to folks looking to ride the wealth train with us so it's a high-stakes, high-ticket game, and nailing that sales call is crucial.

So, the counterintuitive trick I use to kickstart my sales calls? Weather talk.

Studies from the book "Persuasion" reveal that weather affects our mood, whether we're aware of it or not.

When I jump on a call, I kick things off by mentioning the weather. "Hey, it's a rare 72 and sunny day here. Perfect for a walk, you know?"

This seemingly innocuous chat opens the door to a weather discussion.

If it's raining at their end, I guide the conversation toward a positive spin.

By subtly redirecting their focus, I'm setting the stage for a more receptive audience.

So, next time you're about to dive into a high-stakes sales call or any persuasion scenario, give the weather a nod.

It might just be your secret weapon to tip the scales in your favor.

Victims Don't Change the World | Ep. 222

Victims Don't Change the World | Ep. 222

It's time to tackle a pet peeve of mine that's been bugging me: the "Limitation Defense Brigade."

You know those folks who argue harder for why they can't succeed than for their own potential? We've seen them.

It's frustrating when people hold onto their limitations like prized possessions, even defending them like it's a competition.

    But let's get real…the universe doesn't care.

It cares about what you do with what you've got.

You can either fold or play your hand.

So, here's your challenge: take a look at your life. Are you arguing for why you can't instead of why you can?

Remember, you're in control of your narrative. Victims don’t change the world, heroes do.

So it's time to level up and become the hero you're meant to be.

Simple Trick to Quadruple Your Sales | Ep. 220

Simple Trick to Quadruple Your Sales | Ep. 220

Let's dive into a lesson I keep relearning, whether in business or life…the magic of follow-through and never assuming the answer is no.

This revelation hit home when an investor, after multiple attempts, suddenly committed $100,000 to our real estate deal.

It reminded me that in sales and beyond, assumptions can hold us back.

We often fear rejection, assuming people won't say yes to a date, a deal, or anything we ask for.

But here's the secret…you've got to believe the answer is YES.

Whether in sales, relationships, or personal goals, believing in a positive outcome can be transformative.

Additionally, don't just stop at the first follow-up.

Don't be afraid to genuinely engage, inquire, and keep the conversation alive.

It's the surefire way to turn possibilities into actualities.

So next time you're hesitant to follow up, remember: It's the silent sales killer.

Don't Spend Money On These 3 Things | Ep. 216

Don't Spend Money On These 3 Things | Ep. 216

Today, we're diving back into one of my favorite topics…building meaningful wealth.

And here's the thing you absolutely need to grasp: Wealth is a ratio, plain and simple.

It's all about what you make versus what you spend.

Real wealth isn't just about earning more money…it's also about keeping those expenses in check.

We've got to be careful not to fall into the lifestyle creep trap.

So before you go all out on those expenses, really think about how much they'll add to your happiness.

Instead, focus on experiences, skill-building, and building strong relationships – those are the real happiness-boosters.

3 Frameworks That Have Changed My Life | Ep. 214

3 Frameworks That Have Changed My Life | Ep. 214

I'm thrilled to share with you three incredibly impactful frameworks that have been my guiding light in both my personal life and my ventures in business and investing.

I've always been fascinated by looking at the world through the lens of frameworks.

It's like having a set of mental models that allow you to navigate diverse aspects of life with ease.

You know, it's similar to what the brilliant Charlie Munger calls "mental models”…concepts and analogies that can be applied across different domains.

One of my favorite mental models is borrowed from the laws of thermodynamics.

The law of entropy, for example, teaches us that without injecting energy into a system, it tends to decay into a state of entropy.

Now, while this concept comes from physics, we can apply it metaphorically to various aspects of life.

Relationships, businesses, personal growth…all require a constant injection of energy and effort to avoid decay.

We’ll dive into the three frameworks and hopefully…they resonate with you too.

Remember, we're all on a journey of growth, and these tools can help you navigate it more intentionally.

This is How You Bend Reality to Your Will | Ep. 210

This is How You Bend Reality to Your Will | Ep. 210

I want to share with you a simple yet powerful idea that has truly transformed my life.

Over the past 15 years, I've manifested this concept in my daily life, and it's been a key factor in the success I've achieved.

In the past, I used to view my ADHD as a weakness, something that held me back from greatness.

But everything changed when I decided to flip that perspective on its head.

Instead of seeing ADHD as a limitation, I started seeing it as a unique strength, the driving force behind my greatness.

I know it may sound a bit delusional…especially considering I was living in a van, drowning in $80,000 of debt, and struggling with terrible relationships.

But I had reached a point where my old beliefs had led me to rock bottom, and it was time for a change.

The idea I want to share with you is quite simple: "Your beliefs are the chisel, your actions are the hammer, and reality is the stone."

Reality is often seen as rigid and unyielding, like a hard stone.

But if you see your beliefs as the chisel and your actions as the hammer…you can carve into that reality and shape it according to your vision.

And it's time to tap into this power and create the life you envision.

Are You PROCRASTINATING Right Now? | Ep. 208

Are You PROCRASTINATING Right Now? | Ep. 208

Today, I'm bringing you some tough love or maybe just that reminder you need right now to stop putting off what you know you should be doing and get to work.

We all face moments of procrastination, and I had one just an hour ago while trying to record this episode.

We must admit that most of the time when we're reading books, taking courses, watching YouTube videos, or listening to podcasts like this one…we're merely procrastinating.

If we were genuinely serious about achieving our goals, we'd cut through the noise and just take action on what matters most.

There's value in collecting dots, being curious, and learning. It's the first phase…filling up your curiosity tank, but that's only half of the equation.

The real magic happens in the second phase - connecting dots.

It's about combining your accumulated knowledge and ideas in a creative process to make a difference.

But here's where the trap lies…it's so much easier to indulge our curiosity than to tap into our creativity.

Remember, momentum is the antidote to procrastination, and it doesn't require massive action; just get the ball rolling.

A life of fulfillment is found in what we do, not just in what we consume.

Get back on track, take that next step, and come back here when you're ready to fill up that curiosity tank again.

#6 Iterations Matter More Than Repetitions | Ep. 204

#6 Iterations Matter More Than Repetitions | Ep. 204

We're diving into lesson number six from my mind-blowing weekend with the internet's top creators.

Now, we've all heard the saying that it takes 10,000 hours to become a master at something…but that might not be the whole story.

According to the brilliant Naval, it's not about the hours; it's about the iterations.

It's all about the quality of those repetitions, not just mindlessly going through the motions.

Let's take my writing journey as an example. When I decided to become a science fiction author, I knew I had to put in the work.

So I set a goal to write 3,000 words every single day for a year…that's a million words in total.

But here's the kicker…I didn't just write and write and write.

I also reflected, sought feedback, and iterated on my writing.

    And guess what? It worked.

Within a year and a half, I had published my first book.

Now, let's talk about the creators I met at the event. People like Ed from Film Booth and Charlie Hooper from Charisma on Command.

These guys are testing and iterating like crazy.

They run hundreds and thousands of split tests, collecting data, and making incremental improvements.

They're obsessed with iterations and refining their content to be the best it can be.

So…if you want to reach the pinnacle of your craft, you need to embrace the power of iterations.

Be obsessed with getting better with each iteration and unleash the power of intentional improvement.

    #4 A-Players Think Differently | Ep. 202

    #4 A-Players Think Differently | Ep. 202

We're on a roll with another lesson from my epic weekend with the internet's top creators.

Here's the lesson for today…A players, the real game-changers, they think differently.

Throughout my conversations with these incredible creators, I noticed that they weren't interested in being right.

Instead, they were laser-focused on getting to the right answer as quickly as possible.

These A players didn't engage in heated debates to prove their point or shut others down…they approached conversations with curiosity, open-mindedness, and a thirst for knowledge.

They often go seeking to understand the other person's perspective.

The lesson here, my friends, is that success isn't about being a know-it-all…it's about being a learn-it-all.

So let me be real with you for a moment…I used to be a know-it-all.

I thought my intelligence was my golden ticket to success. But guess what?

    It only held me back.

And true enough, the most successful people I've encountered are humble enough to admit they don't have all the answers.

The Full Life Billionaire | Ep. 198

The Full Life Billionaire | Ep. 198

I want to dive into a concept that has been on my mind ever since I came across a post by my buddy Saul Hill Bloom.

He introduced the idea of becoming a time billionaire, and it got me thinking about success in a whole new way.

You see, the term "billionaire" can evoke various emotions and beliefs.

Some view billionaires with anger and resentment, perceiving them as symbols of inequality.

Others see them as a source of inspiration, believing that hard work can lead to similar success.

Most of us fall somewhere in between, with a mix of admiration and skepticism.

Personally…I've made the mistake of equating success solely with financial abundance.

I used to measure my worth based on how much money I had compared to others.

But over time, I've come to realize that success goes beyond material possessions.

That's where the concept of becoming a full life billionaire comes in.

Instead of focusing solely on money…I want to introduce you to the idea of the "Bank of You."

This concept is about creating a balance that encompasses mindset, health, wealth, skills, and relationships.

I hope this concept resonates with you and provides a fresh perspective on success and wealth.

Remember, it's not just about the money. It's about living a rich and fulfilling life in all its dimensions.

Reviewing Old Goals | Ep. 196

Reviewing Old Goals | Ep. 196

I stumbled upon my old journals, and let me tell you, it was a trip down memory lane.

I realized how grateful I am for the practice of journaling and the treasure trove of insights it holds.

It's like a time capsule that lets me revisit my past self and see the progress I've made over the years.

And you know what? It got me thinking about the importance of reviewing our goals.

You see, we often set goals tied to temporal landmarks like New Year's or birthdays.

We structure our lives around these milestones, creating resolutions and aspirations for the future.

But here's the thing: as we move forward, those past goals tend to fade into the background.

We get caught up in the hustle and forget to reflect on our journey.

That's why I believe in the power of reviewing our goals.

It allows us to reconnect with our past selves and recognize how far we've come.

I encourage you to start journaling and documenting your goals.

Take the time to review your past accomplishments and relish in the progress you've made.

It's not about constantly chasing the next big thing, but rather appreciating the journey and celebrating your growth.

Think Big, Act Small | Ep. 190

Think Big, Act Small | Ep. 190

Today, I want to delve into an intriguing tension that all entrepreneurs must grapple with: the need for both patience and impatience.

It may seem contradictory, but we require audacious goals and consistent daily actions.

How can we reconcile these seemingly opposing forces?

Some individuals are patient but sluggish in the moment, while others are energetic but expect instant results.

Striking a balance is crucial. Naval Ravikant advises us to be impatient with actions and patient with results, while Gary Vaynerchuk advocates for micro speed and macro patience.

It's about thinking big while acting small, focusing on the immediate tasks that inch us closer to our larger goals.

I call this approach "five to thrive" and "three to free." The former represents our quarterly objectives, while the latter symbolizes the three crucial tasks we tackle each day.

By mastering prioritization, we make remarkable progress.

If you're curious to explore my productivity system, Hyperfocus, head over to beyondtheapex.com. It's time to wield your focus as a weapon of mass accomplishment.

    Lessons From a Subscriber | Ep. 187

    Lessons From a Subscriber | Ep. 187

I received an awesome DM from a follower, and I want to share it with you.

This message reminded me of some important lessons that I think we all need to remember.

I've always said that this podcast is about building a relationship, engaging in conversations, and not just a one-way monologue.

So, find me on Instagram (@theanthonyvicino) or Twitter (@anthonyvicino), shoot me a DM, and let's have a chat.

Now, let's dive into the DM.

The sender summed up three key takeaways that are worth exploring.

    Firstly, simplicity is key.

We often complicate things to mask our lack of effectiveness, but a simple approach is usually more successful in the long run.

Secondly, aiming for "good enough" is better than chasing perfection.

By focusing on core tasks and gradually improving through iteration, we'll eventually impress others with our skills.

Finally, storytelling is a vital form of communication.

By practicing and analyzing our storytelling abilities, we can become exceptional communicators.

I want to express my gratitude to the person who reached out and shared these valuable insights. It's incredible to see how we can learn and grow together.

This Is What HARD Feels Like | Ep. 183

This Is What HARD Feels Like | Ep. 183

Lately, I've been struggling with finding satisfaction in my content creation.

I've been too fixated on shallow metrics like likes and views, neglecting the importance of the process and inputs.

It's easier said than done to prioritize those aspects, right?

I want to be genuine and emphasize that understanding these concepts intellectually isn't enough.

We must genuinely feel and consistently practice them. It's normal to have moments when focusing on the work itself is easier.

However, there are also challenging times when it's hard to detach from the results, and that's okay.

We shouldn't blame ourselves for dealing with these emotions.

So, if you find yourself in a challenging phase of your creative or entrepreneurial journey, remember that you're not alone.

An Untold Benefit of Creating | Ep. 180

An Untold Benefit of Creating | Ep. 180

Today I want to delve into a topic that holds incredible significance—the power of creation.

Trust me when I say that creating something is one of the most remarkable gifts you can give to your future self.

Whether you're into writing blogs, making music, shooting videos, going on tweetstorms, or even hosting a podcast like this one, creating something unique is seriously valuable.

Here's the deal…the other day, I stumbled upon something I made like ten years ago, and it blew my mind.

I couldn't believe it was me who came up with it. It was like it came from a whole different universe.

And in that moment, I felt so darn grateful to my past self for pushing through and making it happen, even when life was throwing curveballs.

Creating stuff is like the ultimate gift we can give ourselves.

Now, here's the beauty of it: creating something doesn't have to be perfect or groundbreaking.

The magic is in the process itself, in expressing your inner voice and bringing something into existence.

Even if it goes unnoticed or doesn't meet your wildest expectations, the pride and gratitude you'll feel when you look back on what you've created are off the charts.

So, here's my challenge to you: start your own creative journey today.

    Don’t worry if it's not a masterpiece.

What matters is that you're seizing the chance to make your mark on the world and show your future self what you're made of.

Remember, creating is all about finding that sweet spot of pride and fulfillment.

    How To Lose A Sure-fire $8,000 Sale | Ep. 177

    How To Lose A Sure-fire $8,000 Sale | Ep. 177

Today, I want to spill the beans on one of my favorite tricks for leveling up in life, whether you're a writer, entrepreneur, or just about anything else.

Lately, I've been deep into this thing called funnel hacking.

Basically, it's like being a detective and snooping around other creators' businesses to uncover their secrets.

From the way they create content to how they craft killer calls-to-action, I'm all up in their funnels, trying to crack the code.

But by paying attention to what grabs my attention and gets me clicking, I can reverse engineer their tactics and use them to my advantage.

Let me tell you about a recent adventure in funnel hacking.

So, I've been following this awesome content creator who's got a killer book and an amazing podcast.

When they mentioned their coaching program, I was genuinely interested in soaking up their knowledge.

Their call-to-action was a simple "Shoot me a DM."

Seems easy but instead of giving me a direct link to buy, they took me on a whole journey.

They had two coaching options: one-on-one for $250,000 a year and group coaching for a more reasonable $8,000 a year…talk about price anchoring.

By throwing that big number out first, the second option suddenly seemed like a bargain.

Long story short, this whole experience taught me some valuable lessons.

Funnel hacking is like having a backstage pass to success, but you gotta keep it real with your customers.

Answer their questions, be transparent, and don't dance around the truth.

So, if you're an entrepreneur or salesperson, take notes and avoid the pitfalls that can turn a surefire sale into a missed opportunity.

    Don't Outsource THIS | Ep. 173

    Don't Outsource THIS | Ep. 173

I was hanging out in Mexico at this Mastermind event, and we got into a discussion about content creation.

People are always surprised to learn how much time I spend actually creating content. They're like, "Wait, you're the one doing all this?"

And I'm like, "Yep, you betcha!" I mean, I'm the owner, the brand beacon, the one shouting from the rooftops about how amazing my product is.

So, naturally, I'm knee-deep in content creation. It's my most important job as the owner, after all.

Now, I get it…lots of entrepreneurs wanna delegate the content creation tasks.

But…it's not gonna land the same way. I've seen it happen.

When someone else writes your content, even if they're good, something about it feels off.

It doesn't have that genuine, authentic vibe that connects with your audience.

Someone recently commented on one of my blog articles and said, "Hey, your copywriter is awesome!" And I was like, “Thanks, but that's actually me!"

That's the thing…people come to do business with you, not some ghostwriter.

Your audience wants to hear your voice, your thoughts, your expertise. So, don't lose that personal touch by outsourcing everything.

You're the expert in your field, no one knows your business like you do. So, embrace your strengths.

Practice, improve, and let your authenticity shine through.

When your content reflects your true self, it lands harder with people. It resonates, it connects.

Increasing The Lifetime Value of Your Customers | Ep. 171

Increasing The Lifetime Value of Your Customers | Ep. 171

Today, I want to dive deep into a game-changing strategy that can help you skyrocket customer retention and boost the lifetime value of your clients.

As entrepreneurs, we often find ourselves fixated on marketing efforts, constantly striving to bring in new leads and convert them into paying customers.

But what about the people who have already chosen to do business with us?

I'm talking about our existing customers….the ones we sometimes overlook once the initial sale is made.

These individuals are more likely to engage with your business, given their previous positive experience. And that's the key to increasing their lifetime value.

So, instead of solely focusing on acquiring new customers, shift your mindset to nurturing the ones you already have.

One thing as well is to always ensure that you deliver an exceptional experience that leaves your customers raving about you.

Quality matters and when you've nailed that, you'll find that your customers keep coming back without much effort on your part.

Don't just make the sale and move on; instead, keep them engaged, thinking about your brand, and eager to purchase from you again.

Don't Be A Slave To Your Emotions | Ep. 168

Don't Be A Slave To Your Emotions | Ep. 168

Today, let's dive into a topic that's been bugging me lately: emotional control.

Picture this….I’m strolling towards the Invictus headquarters, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from my doorstep here in downtown Minneapolis.

And guess what? All hell breaks loose on the road. Honking horns, screaming matches, and finger-flipping galore.

It got me thinking about the connection between emotional control and success.

If you want to achieve financial freedom, you gotta break free from the clutches of your extreme emotions.

Imagine that you're an entrepreneur or an investor, and you crave control, right?

You want to call the shots, do things your way, wherever and whenever. That's the dream.

But here's the thing…if someone or something has the power to push your buttons, to change your mood, you're not really in control, are you?

Successful folks…or those who've made it big….have one thing in common: they've mastered the art of emotional control.

And it’s a key player in personal development.

Sure, we focus on acquiring skills, staying healthy, and all that good stuff.

But if we don't tame those wild emotions, we're missing a crucial piece of the puzzle.
