    Setting Boundaries for Better Work & Life Experiences

    A worry we have when transitioning environments is that the same problems we had in our last experience might follow us to our new one. We often externalize these fears and blame our troubles on the outside circumstances rather than on ourselves. But we also have a deep worry that the situation will repeat, because we know on some level that it’s us who have the problem, and running from our problems can’t actually solve anything.

    To solve the problem, we need to get honest with ourselves about the part we play in our current woes and commit to changing how we behave, feel, and think about it. And that is SO scary for us that most of the time we keep ourselves too busy to have enough time to realistically do that.

    Here are some strategies for coming to terms with conflict and setting boundaries that allow us to set the security and peace that we are hoping for, even when it feels really hard.

    How are you? Are you ready to go back to "normal?" Whether you're vaccinated or not, some of us are ready to move on from the pandemic and go back to our old ways, and some of us just aren't. If you're feeling pandemic-related anxiety, social anxiety, or you've discovered a new version of yourself and you're trying to figure out how that fits in the world now, you're definitely not alone.

    Alison Diana is a therapist, meditation guide, and yoga instructor, who can help us sort through all of this. Obviously the last year sucked for many reasons, but maybe there are parts of it we enjoyed and want to bring with us as we go forward.

    So I loved talking to her about post-pandemic pressure, social anxiety, mindfulness, and setting boundaries to show love for ourselves and those around us.
