We dissect the poignant tale where many are called but few are chosen, and dive into the significance of the wedding garments—symbols of the transformative readiness required for God's kingdom. The passage serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of rejecting the divine invite, a narrative that echoes through the ages and invites self-reflection.
As we navigate the heated exchanges between Jesus and the religious elite of his day, you'll witness the intellectual chess game that unfolds. The Pharisees, Sadducees, and Herodians throw their trickiest questions at Jesus—on taxes, the resurrection, and more. Yet, with every move, Jesus counters with responses that leave his adversaries perplexed, showcasing a mastery of the law that still speaks volumes today. This segment of our episode is a mental sparring match that will leave you appreciating the intricate dance between divine wisdom and human curiosity.
Finally, we dissect Jesus' heart-hitting teachings on love and identity, two pillars that uphold the greatest commandments and messianic prophecy. As we ponder the Christ being both David's son and Lord, we invite you to consider the depth of Jesus' scriptural insights that left his contemporaries speechless. Join us as we delve into these profound concepts, and don't forget to share your thoughts with us via social media or email. This episode is a feast for the mind and spirit, and we're here to serve it up with clarity and reflection.
In Matthew 22, Jesus shares the parable of the wedding feast, likening the kingdom of heaven to a banquet where the initially invited guests refuse to attend. He also navigates through tricky questions posed by the Pharisees regarding paying taxes to Caesar and the resurrection, demonstrating his wisdom and authority. Furthermore, Jesus identifies the greatest commandment as loving God with all one's heart and loving one's neighbor as oneself, summarizing the essence of the Law and the Prophets. Lastly, Jesus challenges the Pharisees' understanding of the Messiah's identity, warning his disciples against the hypocrisy of the religious leaders. Overall, Matthew 22 emphasizes the importance of humility, obedience, and genuine faith in God's kingdom.

In this episode, Patricia interviews children's book author Molly Wilmington about her new book, "Dietrich Bonhoeffer - the Teacher who Became a Spy." The book tells the inspiring true story of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a spy whose life reflected the two greatest commandments: love God and love your neighbor. With sacrifice and courage, Bonhoeffer exemplified the love of Jesus, the good shepherd, by helping Jews during WWII.
It's a story of courage in the face of opposition and courage to stand for our Christian beliefs - a message much needed for our children today.

Youth Pastor, Erica Kesler continues our sermon series, "Bearing God's Name — A Culture of Honor".
On today’s episode of Leaving The Shallows, Heather and Jackie have a conversation about what love is. Most of us have some sort of idea of what love is but where is our idea of love being formed? How do we get our definition of love? Should we trust what we believe or what the world says?
In today's episode we talk about going to the source of love, the One who is love (1 John 4:8), in order to have the correct definition or idea of love. To truly understand love, we need to know God better. God is our plumb line in which we measure all other definitions of love. If someone’s definition of love doesn’t line up with the word of God, it’s not God’s love. We don't want to end up accepting an idea or view of love that was never God's! We hope that by listening to our conversation today, you will have a better idea of what God's love looks like and how you can make sure you are sharing God's idea of love with those around you!
We hope you are encouraged by today's episode and can't wait for you to listen to it!

Today's episode provides an overview of what it means to become a disciple os Hazoor Isa al-Maseeh. Hazoor al-Maseeh desires us to begin our spiritual lives by following eight basic steps:
1. Repent (Tauba) and Believe (Iman) - it means that we must turn away from our old lives to follow Hazoor al-Maseeh.
2. Baptism (Pak Guzl) - we show our tauba and iman by taking the Pak Guzl to declare our faith in Hazoor Isa al-Maseeh.
3. Prayer (Dua) - God loves us and desires us to bring our needs to Him.
4. Study the Word (Kalaam) - if we want to grow in our spiritual lives, then we must devote ourselves to prayer and studying the Injeel Shareef.
5. Go and Make Disciples (Shagird/Murid) - Allah tala desires that we share with others what He is teaching us.
6. Love - followers of Hazoor al-Maseeh are called to love their families, their neighbors, and even their enemies and those who persecute them.
7. Gather in a jamaat (church) and take the Lord's Supper (Isa Rabbani) - followers of Hazrat Isa al-Maseeh should regularly gather in a jamaat of other followers of Hazoor al-Maseeh. During that time, we take a special meal called the Lord's Supper, or Isa Rabbani, to remember the sacrificial death of Hazoor Isa al-Maseeh.
8. Give - as God has worked in our lives, He desires us to share His love by living lives of generosity.
I hope that you will also follow these steps and walk in the path of Hazoor Isa al-Maseeh!
