Hillsong Review- Not For Little Ears! | Episode 25

Hillsong Review- Not For Little Ears! | Episode 25

Today's the day... we're finally releasing the episode we've been talking about for weeks now! The original documentary of Hillsong reviewed and discussed by Bree and Rach. They discuss the allegations brought against those in leadership positions at churches and the university, finances, certain churches brought up, the interviewers and stories shared, the editing, and overall takeaways of the film.

Mamas- this episode is NOT for little ears. Rach and Bree will be discussing sexual abuse and scandals that is not appropriate for children to hear. Please listen with headphones or away from anyone you do not want to be exposed to this content. Also, for anyone who has sexual trauma or been impacted in some way by this type of trauma please take the steps to ensure this content will not negatively impact you and your healing journey.

    Hey, Cool Moms!

Welcome to your new favorite (if we weren't already) 2 hours every week!

The Cool Moms Podcast is your one stop for all things that help YOU stay the cool mom you are. From books and shows to current events, mom moments and conspiracy theories we give you all the know in one place. Think of us as your "news for moms" show. Best part- we do all this through a Christian lens so you're not having to edit the parts that don't apply, align, or you literally cannot listen in the car with your kiddos... that will never be the case with us!

We cover all things culture and politics- with a Christian twist- so you can mom it informed, encouraged and with a book or show rec to go with.. We got you, mama!

With so much constantly changing it's hard to keep up. So our motto- "how to stay current when the current's constantly changing" is not just about staying hip and cool (thats a plus!). It's about learning to navigate these waters of life arm in arm with other mamas sharing the kingdom mindset + mom desires as you- raising kind, good, loving humans while trying to stay sane and extending grace (lots of it!) when needed.

Most importantly- we always keep it real... from facedown moments to challenging one another with truth + scripture when it's the unpopular opinion (*cough* going against societal norms, *cough* Hi, I'm a conspiracy theorists, *cough* don't trust the lies you're being told), to little (and big) wins...

Troian Bellisario: Family Planning, School & Activities for Kids

Troian Bellisario: Family Planning, School & Activities for Kids

In our latest episode of “Katie’s Crib,” Katie reunites with Troian Bellisario for an exciting THIRD appearance on the show! As Troian has previously been on the podcast during Seasons 4 and 2, Katie digs into updates on the actresses’ parenting experiences since becoming a mother of two.

The “Pretty Little Liars” star first opens up about her exhaustion from constantly being asked if she plans to have another child, and the societal pressure that comes along with it. She also discusses work-life balance, and how she prepares her kids for when she has to travel for work without them.

The two-time Teen Choice Awards winner also shares her older daughter's involvement in language immersion school and extracurricular activities thus far. She opens up about the opportunities in exploring both, including her thoughts on child acting.

Plus, fun fact: did you know that Troian and her husband Patrick prefers being called “”mama” and “papa" instead of "mommy" and "daddy”? Tune in for the reasoning of such endearing names in this very special episode!

Surprising Redesigned Chevrolet Trax, Automotive Subscription Services

Surprising Redesigned Chevrolet Trax, Automotive Subscription Services

Jill and Tom opened the show discussing the recent Midwest Automotive Media Association (MAMA) Spring Rally, and a couple of the vehicles Jill drove at the event held annually at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Jill was most impressed by the redesigned 2024 Chevrolet Trax, which after a one-year hiatus has returned redesigned to anchor the Chevrolet lineup. Jill also spent time with the Lucid Air premium electric sedan.

Jill and Tom also briefly discussed Ford’s plan for brand EV owners to access the Tesla charging network. Jill and Tom will discuss further the ramifications of this deal at a later date.

In the second segment the crew welcome Jan Hansen, Vice President of Growth at FINN Automotive to the show. FINN provides vehicle “subscription” services that work something like a lease, but offer a single monthly fee for all related vehicle-operation costs, including taxes and insurance. Jan explained how a subscription might serve vehicle shoppers better than ownership or leasing. Subscriptions can be for terms as short as six months.

Segment three opened with Jill being subjected to a difficult Saturn (the car brand) quiz. Afterwards Jill and Tom discussed the all-new, 3-row, Toyota Grand Highlander. Tom also talked about his latest review, a test drive of the Toyota bZ4X electric compact crossover.

    To All the Mothers

    To All the Mothers

It is Mental Health Awareness Month and I'm excited to be talking about mental, emotional, and spiritual health. This episode is a tribute to all the mothers who are always striving, pressing forward, and doing the best they know how to do.

It is important to look into your environment (work, home, church, finances, community, relationships, etc.) and see if it is having an impact on your mental health in a good way or a bad way. It is also important to look within yourself to determine what you need to do to make sure you are in good standing mentally and emotionally. You don't have to suffer in silence. Help is available.

    Scripture Reference:
"Therefore, we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
