Episode 91 - Battles of Age and Appetite Adventures in Maturity and Mexican Cuisine

Episode 91 - Battles of Age and Appetite Adventures in Maturity and Mexican Cuisine

Time has a funny way of sneaking up on you, doesn't it? One minute you're celebrating the New Year, and the next, you're wondering how January vanished into thin air. Join us on a whirlwind exploration of the perception of time, where we'll compare our youthful expectations of aging to the reality of modern 50-somethings who are redefining what it means to grow older. From reminiscing about the actors who once personified age to sharing our own tales of health scares and high blood pressure, we weave personal anecdotes with a broader discussion on society's evolving attitudes toward aging.

Ever seen a UFO while nursing a headache? We chat about everything from the mysterious skies to the mundane pains that remind us we're not 21 anymore. We'll whisk you away through action-packed movie analyses, where we debate whether John Wick can out-badass The Equalizer, and get surprisingly emotional over the depth of Denzel Washington's "Man on Fire". And if you thought haunted houses were unnerving, wait until you hear about the possessed hand in the horror film "Talk to Me". Our vibrant discussions on the latest flicks will have you rethinking your next movie night picks.

Let's not forget the simple pleasures of life—like the quest for the perfect post-golf burrito. Our culinary adventures take us from the traditions of Mexican drinks to the heart of local food culture, and we even delve into some unexpected drama at a ranch in Muscoy. As we navigate the intricacies of technology, from the quirks of texting preferences to the anticipation (and skepticism) of Apple's Vision Pro glasses, we balance the excitement of innovation with heartfelt musings on its impact on our lives. So, whether you're a film buff, foodie, or tech enthusiast, there's a seat at our table for you in this episode of revelry and reflection.

    Episode 314 - Season 6 Kickoff

It has begun! The official kickoff episode of season 6, which has been officially dubbed The Season of Bob. That's because Engineer Bob has selected everyone's movies for season 6. Not only that, but there is not clear answer on how many movies made it into this season. Though we won't know who will reign supreme just yet, the trailer kickoff episode shines a small light on things to come.

    The Equalizer 3

    The Equalizer 3

This weeks episode is a Denzel Washington appreciation tribute! I review Equalizer 3. The newest and final installment to the franchise. Where he once again proves that he is much more then just a drama actor, but a great action star as well. I have my old man back on the podcast, Bob Miranda. He chose this weeks throwback movie, Man on Fire, also starring Denzel Washington along with Dakota Fanning.

The Equalizer 3. Directed by Antoine Fugua. Robert McCall finds himself at home in Southern Italy but he discovers his friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends' protector by taking on the mafia.

Man on Fire (2004). Directed by Tony Scott. In Mexico City, a former CIA operative swears vengeance on those who committed an unspeakable act against the family he was hired to protect.

We return to iHeart Radio in Burbank, California for a special episode, celebrating the release of “The Equalizer 3,” and revisit the first teaming of Denzel Washington & Dakota Fanning, and the second of five team-ups with director Tony Scott, for the 2004 revenge, action spectacle, “Man On Fire.”

The Equalizer 3: 7 films that scream vengeance like the Denzel Washington action thriller

The Equalizer 3: 7 films that scream vengeance like the Denzel Washington action thriller
Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington is set to reprise his role as Robert McCall in the third instalment of the action thriller franchise The Equalizer. The Antoine Fuqua film will tell the story of a retired Robert McCall, who has left his former life as a vigilante behind and resigned to a quaint hamlet in Italy. However, he soon realises that his newly-acquired friends are forced to pledge allegiance to the mafia which dominates their very existence. Unsurprisingly, McCall taps into the particular skills that he had honed over the years to exact vengeance against those who have wronged his friends. Lead star Washington reunites with Dakota Fanning, nearly 19 years after starring together in Man on Fire in this film. Fans of the franchise don’t need to be told what to expect from this film that promises sweet revenge. But for this episode of List Hai Toh Hit Hai, we have narrowed down eight must-watch action thrillers that pivot around the theme of vengeance that pack the same action-packed sequences and thrilling turns.

Mickey was given a significant, small role by late great Tony Scott action melodrama Man on Fire (2004)
also starring Christopher Walken, Dakota Fanning, my fellow Australian Radha Mitchell and the man Denzel Washington among others.

Excellent movie has stood the test of time.

    I also discuss the deleted Mickey scenes featured on Blu Ray;

    W. Kamau Bell on 'The Book of Eli'

    W. Kamau Bell (United Shades of America, We Need to Talk about Cosby) has carved out his own, personalized niche in media, a blend of comedy, documentary, and community. His path didn’t always make sense to his peers, but he forged ahead because he felt that his mission was clear. That’s just one thing he has in common with Denzel Washington’s Eli from the underloved 2010 “post-apocalyptic neo-WesternThe Book of Eli.
