For this week’s episode of the Midi Money Podcast, I had the pleasure of welcoming My Best Friend Jacob. He is a Canadian-born music producer, go-getting entrepreneur, and a proud member of our Midi Money community.
Jacob got hooked on making beats when he was just 14 years old. It inspired him to go to an audio engineering school, which later led to a job in radio.
His first breakthrough with his music came in an unusual albeit spectacular way. Jacob produced the song for Kylie Jenner’s birth video, which became an internet sensation, racking up billions of views across various social media channels.
Later on, he got the opportunity to score the Netflix documentary Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly. He’s also worked with Kanye West and did sound design for the Famous music video. When you add placements with Ill Mind and Russ into the mix, you know My Best Friend Jacob is the real deal.
Recently, Jacob got his 6-figure Midi Money Award for making $100K with producer funnels. Today, he’s going to talk about his journey, his latest entrepreneurial efforts, and the many lessons he’s learned along the way.
Tune in for a rich, insightful, hour-long conversation and learn more about Jacob’s vision for the future of music production he’s calling the “10-minute initiative”.

Have you ever thought about how Twitch could be an exciting platform to show off your beat making skills? I’m sure you will after this episode.
Please help me welcome my guest for today - the incredible SuperStar O!
As many of you know, SuperStar O is a multi-platinum international music producer and songwriter. He’s been selling beats for over a decade and making them since the days of MySpace.
Besides his work as a music producer, he’s also a very ambitious entrepreneur. In the music industry, his main focus is on selling kits and industry placements.
On top of that, he’s just an unbelievably good dude, and I’m so glad to have him on the show!
I couldn’t wait to pick his brain for ideas on marketing, business, and overall thoughts on how to grow as a producer. He’s always thinking up new ways to innovate and regularly outdoes himself with every new project.
One of the most exciting things about his journey is how he leveraged Twitch to grow his brand. We talked about the current state of the platform, the benefits of doing long-form streaming, and how it’s helped him develop a more intimate relationship with his community.
Also on this episode, we talk about why having the right mindset is key to success and discuss the most important factors for building momentum.

If you're a fan of finger drumming, there's no doubt you know all about my next guest. On this episode of the Midi Money Podcast, I'm joined by none other than Beatsbyjblack!
Beatsbyjblack is a famous producer, serial entrepreneur, and creator of the Finger Drumming Academy. His dedication, productivity, and vision are all so very inspiring, while his origin story testifies that great things can come from something seemingly devastating.
Even though he's currently enjoying life as the category king of finger drumming, Beatsbyjblack is constantly working on multiple projects. Making beats, selling drum kits, sponsorships, starting a clothing line… All I can say is the man knows how to work hard and understands what it means to go all in.
His mission is to one day make finger drumming lessons as popular as piano lessons. I also signed up for Finger Drumming Academy not so while ago, and I can definitely say I had a ton of fun doing it.
Today, we're going to talk about his strategy for creating online content, building relationships with companies in the music industry, and discuss what makes consistency the key to success.
All that and more, only on the Midi Money Podcast!

Today, I’m welcoming my first guest on the Midi Money Podcast. And who better to start things off with than the man who inspired me to learn about business and marketing - my man, Anno Domini.
Years ago, as I was scrolling through my Facebook page, and I came across one of his videos that inspired me to try a different way of selling beats online. He opened up a completely new world for me, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
Back in the early 2000s, Anno was just starting out, and even then, the competition was mad. Pretty soon, it became impossible to make a breakthrough using the same approach as everybody else.
By diving heavily into marketing and business, Anno Domini was able to reinvent the game and on more occasions than one. Today, he’s going to share his journey and explain how he used funnel-building, niche marketing, and various other methods to build his empire, also known as Anno Domini Nation.
AD and I have collaborated many times over the years, and we recently came together once again to start Midi Money. Our goal is to introduce a new way of selling beats online to music producers and create a strong, supportive community where people can learn, grow, and build their business.
I’m really hoping Anno’s story and approach have as big of an impact on you as it had on me all those years ago.

If you’ve listened to the first episode, you’ve heard all about my origin story. I was no different than any other music producer starting out. Struggling, grinding, and extremely focused on perfecting my craft.
For over ten years, I was convinced that the key to success was making better beats. I thought that if I just kept honing my skills, someone would take notice, and one day, my career would take off.
When I realized that it wasn’t going to happen that way, it hit me so hard I nearly gave up. And today, I’m so grateful that I didn’t.
I gave myself one last shot, and thankfully, I discovered Anno Domini and Russell Brunson, who showed me there was a better way. But in order to fully benefit from their fresh approach to online selling, I had to shift into a new mindset.
This mindset is the main differentiator between those who give up and those who stick it out long enough to make it.
In today’s episode, I’m going to explain exactly why 99% of producers fail to make a living from their music and share my thoughts on how to become the 1% who succeed.

Welcome to the very first episode of the Midi Money Podcast. My name is Gabe Schillinger, the founder, and CEO of Legion Beats, and today I want to share my story with you.
During my career, I was blessed to work with many incredible artists such as Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, and Too Short. But looking back, I still can’t fully grasp how hopeless everything seemed when I was just starting my journey.
Years ago, I was living the classic life of a struggling music producer. I was living at my dad’s house, struggling to get by, and dealing with excruciating anxiety every single day. As my peers moved on with their lives, I felt like I was nailed down, still clueless about how to turn making beats into a viable career.
Pushed to my very limits, I was ready to give up on my passion. But I’m so grateful that I didn’t.
Today, I’m going to tell you all about how I managed to turn things around and ended up building a 7-figure business selling my beats online.
I know there’s a lot of music producers who are just starting out and struggling, so I hope my story can inspire you.
