In this episode, Danielle explained the she always wanted to work with kids, but didn't think a teaching career was for her.  In college, she discovered the field of occupational therapy and fell in love. Working as a traveling OT, she noticed that many of her clients (with issues such as anxiety and ADHD) still retained their primitive reflexes and wanted to know how to help them reprogram their brains and overcome these issues from the ground-up. This week, Lindsey talks with NPR's Food and Agriculture Correspondent, Dan Charles, about the controversy surrounding the herbicide Dicamba, and the drift damage it has caused to other crops and wildlife across the country.

A few years ago, Monsanto engineered Dicamba-resistant soybeans because many weeds had developed tolerance to their popular product, Roundup. Many farmers were thrilled, and this year, soybeans were planted on approximately 89.6 million acres in the U.S. - 40% of these are Dicamba-tolerant. Although dicamba is highly effective at weed control, it can volatilize into the air, traveling for miles, and damaging non-resistant crops, trees, and other plants nearby. EPA will have the final say on whether growers can use Dicamba on their crops in the next few weeks.

Aaron is joined by Anet Aguilar, who's been out there working hard to get an initiative on the California ballot that would require all GMO foods to be labeled. Anet talks about how GMOs affect not just the U.S., but also Mexico, as corn is a staple food there. The two, having learned about genetically modified corn from very different backgrounds, share their knowledge on the issue and let the listeners know what they can do to stand up to Monsanto.

After noticing that a lot of sick children were in the North of Argentina, Juliette Igier decided to find out why. There was a heavy percentage of these children coming from poor farmers, and eventually a link was made between the genetic illnesses and Monsanto?s RoundUp. Juliette made the documentary ?GMO Children? to bring awareness to this issue, and is discussing it in this interview.
