    Episode 279: Unity or Unionization
unity decided to just drop a nuke on the game development world and the both backtracked and doubled down, but so far it has cause among us to be pulled from storefronts. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios VFX artists have unanimously voted to join IATSE, in the first of its kind unionization vote in the VFX industry. Starfield continues to dominate the headlines and gaming charts, SquareEnix may be facing a interesting situation, and the iPhone is getting AAA gaming support. Meanwhile Miyazaki unretires, Alan Moore gives his money to charity, and Shawn Levy says Deadpool is like John Candy. Plus my favorite 80s teen movies! Come take a listen.

The Omnibus Show E013 Wayne Powers, Actor/Comedian, Jazz Vocalist, Radio Host, Film Historian, Etc.

July 5, 2023 – Today’s episode of The Omnibus Show will feature Wayne Powers, Actor/Comedian, Jazz Vocalist, Radio Personality, Voice Over Artist, Film Historian.

Wayne Powers started out as a nightclub singer in New York at age 16. He performed across the country, finally landing in Hollywood where he worked for Henry Mancini. Wayne launched his decades-long network television career after being discovered in a live improv comedy show with a then-unknown Robin Williams.

Williams went on to Mork & Mindy and movies, while Powers went on to Laverne & Shirley, Elvis and Me, One Day at a Time, Murder She Wrote, Simon & Simon, Full House, Alf, Doogie Howser, and many others, including starring for two seasons in his own popular NBC sitcom, 13 East.

Equally at home on television, radio, theatre, club or concert stage, music is his first love. Wayne has played top jazz rooms and jazz festivals, consistently drawing large, enthusiastic, star-studded crowds over the past fifty years.

Powers is also an accomplished recording artist. His latest album If Love Were All has been nationally and internationally broadcast on radio and on Sirius XM’s SiriuslySinatra satellite radio channel.

TV Terrors vol 7 Murder She Wrote

TV Terrors vol 7 Murder She Wrote

Death doesn’t take much of a holiday on TV Terrors as we venture to the islands with Jessica Fletcher on a voodoo-tinged episode of Murder She Wrote! Along the way, identify persistent kookaburra noise syndrome, struggle to accurately quantify the level of racism bubbling beneath the episode’s surface, wonder why every character has a different Jamaican accent, and covet serpentine wedding gifts! All this, plus we evaluate Jessica’s Level 1 improv skills, meet the least likely voodoo princess of all time, and one of the most difficult Choose Your Own Deathventure scenarios of all time!! Whodunit? We dun it. (I apologize)

020: A Pair of Overalls for the Pleasingly Plump Farmer

020: A Pair of Overalls for the Pleasingly Plump Farmer
It's our first podcast of 2023! And we're so happy to discover that this strip still makes no goddamned sense at all. We begin our twelve-strip journey (yes! twelve!) with a customer service rep responding to texts from what turns out to be Thorax. Thorax is looking for overalls in XXXXL-Tall, so naturally his path to purchasing said clothing begins with texting a customer service person. And once he finds out it's a lady -- with the doubly unlikely name of Verity Dupee -- Thorax begins his harrassment. We're sorry, we totally mean romance. Romance as defined by Brooke McEldowney. Verity seems totally annoyed wiht Thorax. Who wouldn't be? But in the end she quits her job and travels to New Hampshire to hand deliver the overalls to Thorax, because she's in love with him. Right up until he tells her he's from another planet. The Chickweed strips we discuss this episode: Thorax's romance/stalking of Verity Dupee begins right here (https://twitter.com/9chickweedRAGE/status/1617542019781636101?s=20&t=u4XUHZf4HgYJi0ppU09AEA). Verity DEFINITELY seems like she might call the cops on Thorax right here (https://twitter.com/9chickweedRAGE/status/1617542022717661185?s=20&t=u4XUHZf4HgYJi0ppU09AEA). For some reason, Verity is charmed by Thorax and visits him in New Hampshire right here (https://twitter.com/9chickweedRAGE/status/1617542025724977153?s=20&t=u4XUHZf4HgYJi0ppU09AEA). Verity is ready to get it on with Thorax but he ruins it by saying he's from another planet right here (https://twitter.com/9chickweedRAGE/status/1617542029164318720?s=20&t=u4XUHZf4HgYJi0ppU09AEA). Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery & M3GAN

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery & M3GAN

In this week’s episode of the AIPT Movies podcast, Alex, Tim, and Matt discuss the continuation of Rian Johnson’s Benoit Blanc detective series, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery! Surprise cameos! Celebrity-sourced small batch hot sauce! An incredible cast (but especially Jessica Henwick and Janelle Monáe)! A story full of twists and turns that keeps the audience guessing throughout, and characters developed through both narrative elements and costume choices! Is there such a thing as a “fun murder romp?” Apparently, yes!

In addition, Matt saw (and enjoyed) the first half of Emily the Criminal, while Alex felt lukewarm about Black Adam, but was completely blown away by M3GAN.

You can find AIPT Movies on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. As always, if you enjoy the podcast, be sure to leave us a positive rating, subscribe to the show, and tell your friends!

The AIPT Movies podcast brings you the latest in movie news, reviews, and more! Hosted by supposed “industry vets,” Alex Harris, Tim Gardiner, and Matt Paul, the show gives you a peek behind the scenes from three filmmakers with oddly nonexistent filmographies. You can find Alex on Instagram and Twitter @ActionHarris. Matt is a terrific artist that you can find on Instagram @no_wheres_ville. Tim can’t be found on social media because he doesn’t exist. If you have any questions or suggestions for the AIPT Movies crew, they can be reached at aiptmoviespod@gmail.com, or you can find them on Twitter @AIPTmoviesPod.

    DALE GONE GOOD
Actress Dale Raoul talks about Sanatione, the world-wide filmmaking project she creates content for. This incredible documentary is a work in progress, featuring stories from around the globe of regular, everyday people surviving, thriving, and finding the good during this very difficult time. She's also here to talk about ALF and why Angela Landsbury never wore shoes on Murder, She Wrote (and that's more than good as far as I'm concerned).
