In this episode of the Performance Collective™ Podcast, Dr. Sinclair interviews the former professional NHL hockey player, hockey coach, and career entrepreneur, Lance Pitlick.
SHOW HIGHLIGHTS:
Lance was born in Minnesota, started playing youth hockey in 1986, played hockey for the University of Minnesota, and was drafted into the NHL in the 9th Round (180th Overall) to the Minnesota North Stars, and played 1st NHL Game at 27 Years Old. Lance had a 12-year professional hockey career that spanned 393 NHL Games as he played with the Ottawa Senators and the Florida Panthers.
Following his hockey career, Lance coached high school hockey for 17 years and retired as a Level 5 USA Hockey Master Coach. In 2009 Lance started providing private off-Ice stickhandling, passing, and shooting lessons with Pitlick Off-Ice Stickhandling and Shooting Training (sweethockeycoach.com). Additionally, Lance invented SweetHands Stick Handling and was the Trainer and Founder of Snipers Edge Hockey, which he sold in 2018.
In 2011, Lance launched Online Hockey Training.com (onlinehockeytraining.com), which houses the world's largest database of off-Ice stickhandling, passing, and shooting drill videos. In 2016 Lance’s dedication to building exceptional stickhandling skills drove him to teach himself how to stickhandle, pass, and shoot with his left (opposite) hand.
In 2022, Lance launched the Hockey Journey Podcast, where he has produced over 100 episodes detailing stories of successful hockey players.
Lance’s life objective is to help as many hockey players as he can to reach their hockey dreams. Both of Lance’s sons have been drafted into the NHL.
Even if the Montreal Canadiens don't win the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, the Habs are likely to draft an impact player or two this June.
