    SITE: http://www.courtneyanderson.com/swca-episode-144-financial-fierceness-series-why-i-love-paying-taxes-seriously.html

SHOW NOTES: This episode is part of our FINANCIAL FIERCENESS!™ series! This series integrates our financial goals into our development plan for surpassing our goals. We deal with the specific issues we need to explore in order to achieve (and surpass) our financial goals. In this episode we are examining the issue of “Why I LOVE Paying Taxes! Seriously."

Sharing. It is not something that comes easily to all of us humans!

    Definition of SHARE:
": to let someone else have or use a part of (something that belongs to you)"
    Share. (n.d.). Retrieved July 13, 2014, from http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/share

Depending on where we live on the planet, what we believe (in terms of ethics, politics, religion, etc.) and what are resources we have, we approach the concept of sharing differently. Specifically, we perceive voluntary sharing (a.k.a. charity) and mandatory sharing (a.k.a. taxation) differently.

In the USA, federal income taxes are dependent on resources (how much and what type of classification). Thus, several decades ago when I earned minimum wage at my employment (and had no other assets or income), I did not pay any federal income taxes (due to earning so little income). I now pay federal income taxes and LOVE it! Very simply, I love having more resources and one of the consequences of having more resources is that I share more of them (voluntary and mandatory).  I am grateful to have the opportunity to have the resources and choices that I currently have!

The Congressional Budget Office announced that ObamaCare will increase the nation’s deficit, reduce American wages and encourage us not to work. The upside, said Nancy Pelosi, is that ObamaCare affords underemployed Americans an opportunity to pursue a hobby. Meanwhile, violent protests erupt in Venezuela over shortages created by wealth redistribution and a president who rules by executive order.

Paying your Vow to God - Pastor Rudy - Genesis 28:20-22

Paying your Vow to God - Pastor Rudy - Genesis 28:20-22
SCRIPTURE READING: Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, so that I come again to my father's house in peace, then the Lord shall be my God, and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house. And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you." (Genesis 28:20-22 ESV) I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred." All the wealth that God has taken away from our father belongs to us and to our children. Now then, whatever God has said to you, do." (Genesis 31:13, 16 ESV) Definition: (What is a Vow?) A solemn promise made committing one to a prescribed role, calling or course of action, marriage etc. A promise made to do a specified thing. (SEE VOW, VOWS)

tBBC Radio Hour: The Business of Amateurs

tBBC Radio Hour: The Business of Amateurs
Back to back days, with guests in different area codes? How do they do it? That's simple. Magic. MaliBuckeye and I are at it again this afternoon, as we are joined by award winning film maker Bob DeMars to talk about his upcoming documentary "The Business of Amateurs." Mali and I talk to Bob about the state of college football and the definition of the student athlete, plus the great work he is putting into this documentary and how he would fix the current issues in the college football landscape and the issues that scholarship athletes face. We highly recommend you check out the trailer to his upcoming project before listening to the show. Feel Free to view that below. Bob is an award-winning filmmaker with over a decade of experience producing, writing, and directing. In 2009 he produced his first documentary “Adjust Your Color: The Truth of Petey Greene”, which was narrated by Don Cheadle. The film was distributed by PBS’s “Independent Lens” and went on to win the program’s Audience Award for the year. He received his degree from USC's Marshall School of Business. He played defensive end for USC from three different head coaches at USC from 1997-2001. We also invite you to check out the "Business of Amateurs" Kickstarter page, where over 20,000 dollars have already been raised to defray post production and traveling costs. Thanks to Bob for joining us. Enjoy the show!

Episode 83 - Who the F**K is Justin Bieber?

This week is a dollar short and a day late.  For our special Monday night episode we talk a bit about the financial state of the show before Michael shares another war story from the trenches of J-Date.  On the anniversary of Michael Jackson's death Jabarie poses some questions to the class: Can you still enjoy art created by an artist who commits acts in their personal life you disagree with?  If an artist wins the lottery of fame and fortune over more talented and possibly deserving individuals, can you hold it against them?
