Podcast: Post-natal Depression - Why do we feel ashamed? Co-presenter Kristen Coggan

When clients say they had or have Post-natal Depression, they almost whisper it. We feel that we have failed in some way, we are inadequate, our hopes of post baby bliss are dashed. But hey, we are not choosing to be depressed and emotionally lost at this time, so why are we so quick to blame ourselves? Why do we feel shame? I felt passionate in this conversation with Kristen. We really need to demystify post-natal depression... maybe this podcast is just another small step forward.

If you know anyone who has experienced post-natal depression, please forward this to them. Let's spread our understanding and compassion.

"Reclaiming My Resources" Black Breastfeeding Week 2021

"Reclaiming My Resources" Black Breastfeeding Week 2021

It's the 9th year of Black Breastfeeding Week. Black Breastfeeding Week aims to end the gaping racial disparity in breastfeeding rates while also encouraging diversity in the lactation field.

Kimberly Seals Allers, co-founder of Black Breastfeeding Week, said “We must end the dangerous conversation of breastfeeding as a 'choice' without a deeper discussion as to how Black women's choices are shaped by their circumstances.”

On This episode Kendra share why Black Breastfeeding Week is important to her.
