#434 - Nik Tarascio gets REAL about Building an Private Jet Airline Company in 2023

Understanding how to utilize private jets to serve your lifestyle or business needs can feel like a complex undertaking. At Ventura Air Services, we help people who want to charter or acquire an aircraft as well as those who already own but want to reduce costs or want support in maintaining their aircraft. I welcome the opportunity to discuss our services with you.  https://venturajet.com/

Growing up at my parent’s flight school, I was immersed in the world of private aviation. My earliest memories are of completing my coloring books from the back of a prop plane. At 16, I earned my license to fly solo and mechanics certification. By 19, I was piloting jets. As CEO of Ventura, I help people create their own private aviation lifestyle.

This is how we make it possible:
    • Define and source the right aircraft for your mission and secure financing
    • Set up ownership structures to maximize tax and financial benefits
    • Manage all aspects of your plane so you only need to show up for flights
    • Help make a financial return while reducing ownership costs
    • Hire and provide experienced pilots and crews
    • Find the right type of charter aircraft for your travels to anywhere
    • Provide certified and licensed aircraft maintenance, avionics services and complete aircraft upgrades

I’ve heard colleagues say that the number one thing they would do if they made a big exit or had a big financial win is buy a jet. Once I show them the numbers, most are shocked that chartering and owning don’t require as much investment as expected. This inspired my book: Own Your Own Plane: It Costs Less Than You Think. Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Own-Your-Plane-Costs-Think-ebook/dp/B079SDH2RG

To make the dream of owning a plane possible, we created an aircraft ownership program that allows for an incredible tax benefit while eliminating fixed costs and provides a revenue stream to offset costs.

When I am not flying or leading Ventura, I write and perform music in NYC. I enjoy biking, snowboarding, and talking about big ideas.

Listen to episodes of MAIM TIME on your podcast player of choice, or on YouTube.

    The name's TIME.... MAIM TIME.

    It’s me again.
    They thought I was dead.
Some said I escaped to North Korea.
They thought I was in jail, or worse:
They thought I went back to college to finish my theology degree.

    But you can't kill me.
I'm back, and better than ever.
    And harder.

    I've returned from a cheeky 5-month hiatus.
The last episode I posted was on my birthday in July, and I was celebrating 5000 downloads.

I just got an email last week saying MAIM TIME hit 6000 total downloads. Doesn't include YouTube video hits. I haven't posted in 5 months. Even though I haven’t been actively promoting MAIM TIME, I've gained the slightest bit of traction. That's so valuable. I can't give up on this. Thanks to those who've been listening!

So, what's going on Maim? Why haven’t you been updating?

Let me tell you a story.

Back in July, I flew on a private jet to Jakarta for a cheeky 4-day business trip. It blew my mind. My life hasn't been the same since…

Four Seasons | Ben Trodd: Personalized Luxury, Private Jet Trips, and Building Communities

My guest today is Ben Trodd, an SVP of Global Sales and Marketing at the amazing Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. While you may have heard of these gorgeous properties dotted around the world, what you might not know is that founder Isadore Sharp started off by building a motel in Toronto.

Mr. Sharp says something profound about the company that we discuss in this episode. He says, “There was no vision, there was no grand dream – but there has always been a consistent thread, and that is service.”

So while Four Seasons Hotels are now set in gorgeous locations and high design buildings, the only way to describe the brand is that it’s more of a feeling.. The consistent service, the ability to be yourself… that keeps many of its loyal guests (myself included) coming back for more.

Ben and I discuss amazing locations around the world, the Four Seasons Private Jet experience, how they’re using technology to drive service, and more.

Angelina v. Brad - The Plane Facts

Angelina v. Brad - The Plane Facts

We all know Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the celebrity “it” couple until they split suddenly in 2016. Just this week, details of how and why Brangelina’s marriage came to a turbulent end were put on blast after media outlets published the details of an investigation the FBI launched six years ago. In the report, Angie accused Brad of some pretty serious stuff – and even supplied photos that she says support her case. Of course, the release of these documents coincides with the ongoing legal battle over their winery, Château Miraval. All this drama seems to be accelerating and we’re wondering if Brad and Angie are on a collision course with a court battle, Depp and Heard style.

    Kylie Jenner Hits Some Turbulence

    Kylie Jenner Hits Some Turbulence

Kylie Jenner's got rich people problems. “The Kardashians” star took some heat after it was reported that her private plane made a quick 17-minute flight. The super short trip stirred social media to call out Kylie for being a "climate criminal," pointing to a flight's toll on the environment. But the makeup mogul doesn't seem too bothered by the backlash. She's busy posting on Insta about her jet and taking trips to Target. Maybe Kylie should just lean in and expand her brand into jet fuel.

Commercial flights: What is the current situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic?

Commercial flights: What is the current situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic?

Routine airline flights have been severely restricted due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, private flights and empty legs flights might be the right solution for people looking to keep traveling while saving time and staying safe.

2020 has been one of the most challenging and controversial years for the flight industry. The COVID-19 pandemic started at the end of 2019, but it became a worldwide issue throughout the following year, causing many countries to lock their borders and impose significant travel restrictions. As we are heading deep into 2021, the situation is still quite far from being resolved, and regular airline flight is not going to revert back to normal anytime soon.

The vast majority of commercial airlines have been struggling with the aforementioned restrictions, which have affected their business greatly. Some countries have been completely blocked off, meaning that many airlines have had to cancel flights or suspend certain destinations from their regular offerings. Even when airlines were allowed to continue to operate, they have had to deal with an extremely out-of-the-ordinary situation. For instance, they have not been able to book their flights at full capacity. Many governments required “empty seat” regulations in order to allow enough distance between passengers.

Because of all the reasons mentioned in the previous paragraphs, airline traffic has been widely affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. However, private aviation and business flights have not been affected to such a high degree. Many players in the private aviation industry are looking on the bright side and craving opportunities in this dire scenario. Because there have been so many restrictions when it comes to regular airline traffic, many people have resorted to booking private flights, especially business class commuters and travelers who needed to be on the air for professional reasons. Many families all around the world have also resorted to booking private flights in order to meet their family members or go back home after being stuck in a foreign country due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Many private airlines and travel companies know that empty leg flights are a big expense for them since they are usually carrying on these flights without any passengers at all. For this reason, many providers do offer affordable tickets on empty leg flights, giving passengers the opportunity to board these flights and save a lot of money and time in the process. This is sort of a win-win situation for companies. On one hand they can actually monetize some flights that would otherwise not make them any money at all. On the others, passengers can reap the benefits and practicality of a private empty legs flight without the need to spend a lot of money for costly charter flights and other private jet arrangements. If you want to get the best empty legs flight deals, be sure to check back on booking websites quite frequently, because these offers are usually only made available at the last minute and only provide specific routes depending on the need of the company to move their airplanes. While empty legs flights are incredibly affordable, convenient, and excellent to get around, the downside is that they are mostly one-way trips. They are absolutely perfect if you need to fly one-way only, for example, if you are returning home. However, you might need to look for a different solution for a return trip if you are planning on during a round journey instead.

Airshare takes your office to the skies with accessible private aviation

Airshare takes your office to the skies with accessible private aviation
Private jets used to be reserved for tycoons, presidents and rock stars, but ordering a personalized flight today isn’t just a power move — it’s a productivity tool. Expanding your business often requires traveling, and the bigger you grow, the more often you and your team will be on the move. But travel can be stressful — wasting time on inconvenient commercial flights and long car rides isn’t just tedious, it can be a drain on your resources and cost you time. Airshare offers a more affordable way to benefit from the convenience of a private plane. Unlike competitors, you buy days rather than hours, which can be more economical. Plus, the pilot and jet stay with you the entire time, so last-minute schedule changes aren’t a problem and you’re never left stranded. The company also ensures the time you spend in the air can be as productive as possible. John Owen, who has been with Airshare since 2016, and recently became president and CEO came on the show to talk about the efficiency of private flight. “You're saving time, and then the time that you have on the airplane is also unbelievably productive.”
