Devotions S2 | Forgotten? featuring Ernest Wamboye
In life, we all get the chance to experience or observe suffering. And sometimes what we see and feel is so intense that we end up battling loneliness, and feeling forgotten and forsaken. In Psalms 22 David pens a Psalm that expresses his feelings about his own suffering, a Psalm that would end being not just about David, but also a prophecy about the suffering of Christ hundreds of years later.
Ernest Wamboye is back on our podcast to help us unpack this Psalm. He helps us answer the questions, "Could there be a greater purpose to our suffering?" and, "Are we really alone, forgotten and forsaken as we suffer?" Join us as we go deeper...

Is God AWOL?
Psalm 22 - A Song of Lament
"Lamenting is an art that we don’t often practice in Western culture. Rather than express our emotions, we tend to hide them, distract ourselves from feeling them, or even pretend they don’t exist. When difficult circumstances cut into our lives, we are likely to seek out false saviors to rescue us. We bury ourselves in work, entertainment, or a pint of ice cream. We might even take things into our own hands and attempt to control our circumstances. We’ll do anything but face the pain and heartache we feel." ~ Christina Fox, Ligonier Ministries
Brandon Southall helps us take a deeper look at Psalm 22 revealing its' pattern to deal with lament and it giving us evidence of our hope and faith in Jesus.
