The crypt has bust open and a classic Disney attraction rises from the grave once again - this time with a start studded cast who are just as happy to be there as they are to cash a check. Wow! Ghost!

This is the best Haunted Mansion movie that doesn’t have Muppets in it. There’s nothing foul or fiendish here, unless like Clancy you’re not a fan of Jared Leto.

Hocus Pocus 2 is exactly what you would expect it to be. As much as it excels in grounding and contemporizing its protagonists (who we’d love to see more of), it struggles in fits and starts to breathe new life into the resurrected corpses of anyone but Billy Butcherson. And perhaps Sarah. 

Much like its predecessor, it’s fine! Who doesn’t enjoy - nay, tolerate - “family friendly” Halloween content? But there’s a reason it took this long to get made, and a big part of that is a dedicated, already-bought-in audience. Magika mystica captialisticka.

You’d think a movie about middle aged bears would be right up our back alley, but this was pooh. Compared to the other road trip movie featuring a bear, this one is the Ursa Minor. Maybe Dex’s fur is so riled because he has the barest emotional connection to his little cub.
