    207. Connecting Clutter and Grief with Guest Melissa Harris

    207. Connecting Clutter and Grief with Guest Melissa Harris

In this episode I first talk about the connection between clutter and grief and the various life events that can cause us to be grieving, since that is not only when we lose loved ones. Often these challenging times can lead to a buildup of belongings that serve as a shield against the pain of loss that we don't want to process.
That is also the reason why decluttering is often more than tidying up; it's an emotional confrontation but more importantly a step towards healing.

In the second part I talk with my special guest Melissa Harris and we unearth the emotional baggage of clutter tied to grief and life's transitions.  Losing a loved one or going through a major life upheaval can leave us grappling with grief that society often tells us to quickly move past. Melissa shares her experiences with loss, reflecting on the limited time we're given by society to grieve and the profound need to create spaces where our emotions are valued and heard. Together we bring to light the importance of support systems, may it be therapy or a grief groups, hiring a grief coach or a clutter clearing coach, this kind of support is helping us process these emotions rather than letting them manifest in harmful ways (or clutter in your home)

From Tragedy to Triumph: Sheena's story of rebuilding after loss

From Tragedy to Triumph: Sheena's story of rebuilding after loss

To say Sheena is a remarkable woman feels like an understatement!

After a tragic loss as a teenager and 10 years of struggling through depression and anxiety, she and her sister took a leap of faith and started their business with very few resources.

As they now celebrate 15 years in business, she's here to share what went into the start of the business, how they grew it through starting their own families, and what the outlook for them looks like today.

For Sheena, her business isn't just a business. It's a family, a community and a beacon of light bringing hope and compassion to many.

    This is Sheena's story.

15 years ago my sister Cortney and I embarked on an incredible journey together with the opening of our fine lingerie boutique, The Bra Lounge, in downtown Red Deer. We were inspired by the life, and death, of our Mom when we were young teens. We realized in the blink of an eye how important she had been to our family and to our community. We always wanted to own a retail business together, and when the opportunity came to get into the lingerie industry we knew that was where we needed to be - serving women just like our Mom who were the backbone to so many in their lives.

Helping women be their best everyday by supporting them with proper fitting, high quality undergarments, while providing an empowering, beautiful place to shop and exceptional customer service has been a truly rewarding. Shopping for intimates can be an intimidating and daunting task, but the result of finding a great fit can be life changing for women. We're proud to be an established, highly sought after boutique in Central Alberta.

We have won numerous awards in quality and customer service, including being named Red Deer's Small Business of the Year in 2017. Both Cortney and I have also received leadership and entrepreneurship awards over the years. We are very proud of our little shop and team!

#134 Impulse Purchases Come In All Shapes and Sizes. Ruff! Ruff!

Buyers remorse, a term most of us have felt many times in our lives. If you haven't, well, you may not be human. In all seriousness buyers remorse is most likely the direct result of an impulse purchase. Impulse purchases (buys) are not uncommon but they do come in very different sizes, shapes and costs. We have worked with many people that drive off the parking lot and on the way home start to have a panic attack because of what they had just done (true story!). Most the time we can take it back to the place we purchased it from unless of course it's food. They don't take that back!

The Talk Wealth To Me crew discusses a very recent situation they found themselves in.

    FYI... all good! Ha
