    Episode 126: Aura Lee, Farewell

    Episode 126: Aura Lee, Farewell
Nathan and Eppy say goodbye to Jackie Cooper (as a director) in S1E14 Aura Lee, Farewell. Jim is asked by sometime-girlfriend-and-previous-client Sara to look into the so-called overdose death of her friend Aura Lee. Once his investigation turns up a State Senator and a slick bunko artist, things get really intense. This is a tight episode with lots of our favs (Robert Webber! Dennis getting mad! Soup!), and we enjoyed both the story and showcase of how it's actually pretty hard to date Jim, when you get right down to it. We have another podcast: Plus Expenses. Covering our non-Rockford media, games and life chatter, Plus Expenses is available via our Patreon (https://www.patreon.com/twohundredaday) at ALL levels of support. Nathan is running a Kickstarter for a new con game RPG The Big Store. You play the cons running the game on a mark who deserves what's coming to 'em! He couldn't have done it without watching so much Rockford Files. Check it out here (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ndpaoletta/the-big-store-a-con-game-ttrpg/). Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia

Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia
Sit right here and have another beer in Mexico...it very well may be your last! Our latest look at crime cinema has us trudging through the muck of Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia, director Sam Peckinpah's unforgiving neo-western from 1974. But before we descend into oblivion, we load up a Blue Plate Special where we discuss Kathryn Bigelow's appropriately titled Strange Days, parse the latest David Cronenberg release Crimes of the future, and celebrate the dearly departed character acting legend Phillip Baker Hall. Upon eventually taking the off-ramp to Hell, we consider the game changing filmography of Peckinpah, the beauty of Warren Oates, and weigh what exactly today's film in question adds to the genre complexion of New Hollywood's cynicism. Episode 82: The Deep Blue Sleep

Episode 82: The Deep Blue Sleep
Nathan and Eppy start wrapping up Season 2 with S2E5 The Deep Blue Sleep. Beth needs Jim's help to find out what happened to a model friend, and the search leads to a fashion designer, a shady business deal and, of course, the mob. One of the few creative contributions from producer Chas. Floyd Johnson, we enjoyed the twists and character business in this one a whole lot! We have another podcast: Plus Expenses. ...about 10 (1979)

    ...about 10 (1979)

    Sex and Slapstick masterpiece.

Directed by Blake Edwards. Starring Dudley Moore, Bo Derek, Julie Andrews, Dee Wallace, Robert Webber, Max Showalter and Brian Dennehy. Music composed by Henry Mancini.

How is the world wrong about this movie?

From Bryan: A rare treat: A fun, fall down comedy for adults. Huge when it came out. Now no one talks about it. What gives? Blake Edwards is one of the great comedy directors and is so much more than just the guy who made the Pink Panther films. This tale about the failures of mid-life crisis masculinity is really, really funny and ready for a revisit.
