Timeless Humor With "Skin Deep" Movie and Trendy Tastes in Entertainment Involving Peanut Butter

Ever reminisce about the hilarity of John Ritter's 'Skin Deep' or the strangely satisfying combo of peanut butter and Oreos? Well, buckle up as we weave through a tapestry of nostalgic tidbits and fresh takes on fashion faux pas. From Zendaya's statement-making robot suit at the "Dune 2" premiere to Dennis Quaid's eerie dive into the psyche of a serial killer, we're serving up a smorgasbord of entertainment insight mixed with hearty laughs.

Dudley Moore's antics may harken back to a different era, but the laughs are timeless for John Ritter, and we're here to relive them while also pondering the peculiarities of peanut butter as a culinary wildcard. Our resident movie buffs can't help but share their infectious enthusiasm for the physical comedy gold and narrative quirks that "Skin Deep" delivers, while our discussion meanders to the realm of true crime and the emotional rollercoaster of unresolved endings à la "Seinfeld." We also can't resist tipping our hats to the comedic chops on display in Hulu's "This Fool."

As we wrap up, we not only rate our featured flick with our unique system but also let our hair down to chat about those quirky eating habits that somehow become a slice of our identity. Are Oreos with peanut butter a snack sensation or a quirky pastime? We're sharing laughs and personal anecdotes, inviting you into the conversation like an old friend joining us on the couch for a movie night. So, grab your favorite snack, get comfy, and let us keep you company with stories that resonate with the humor in all of us.

EPISODE 135: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:42) SPECIAL COMMENT: If you're wondering if the American Political Media Industrial Complex learned something - anything - from its disastrous stenography of Donald Trump's seven-year-long assault on democracy, the answer is here, and the answer is NO. Mike Pence, who refused to testify to the 1/6 Committee because of EXECUTIVE privilege, last night said he was refusing to testify to Special Counsel Jack Smith's grand jury because of LEGISLATIVE privilege and no reporter called him on the impossibility of both things being true, or the fact that he's trying to evade testified about AN ATTEMPT TO MURDER HIM.

Getting even more whitewashing and gaslighting courtesy Robert Costa of CBS and Maggie Haberman was Nikki Haley's presidential candidacy announcement. It was barely noted that she was one of the first mainstream Republicans to sell her soul to Trump, and she then did his evil bidding at the U.N., announcing the move of the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem simply to satisfy the religious nuts who believed it was necessary before all the Jews could be converted and all the good little evangelicals can get their asses raptured.

Political Media only understands four or five story templates and still won't take sedition and fascism seriously, nor call out the "Republicans" who helped Trump and now are pretending to distance themselves from his evil. It's unconscionable, and if they're not going to call out the Pences and Haleys, I'm going to call THEM out.

B-Block (19:30) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Smith also subpoenas Mark Meadows, and the death of Raquel Welch, which requires the telling of the extraordinary Peter Cook story from his movie with her, "Bedazzled." (22:20) IN SPORTS: The day they tweet $185,000,000 signee Jacob deGrom was "clocking in," he clocked out with the all-too-familiar non-injury injury. And if your team is on a Bally Sports Network: oops, they may be going bankrupt. (25:40) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The Indiana Congresswoman born in Ukraine has the nerve to compare the NewsMax/DirecTV story to totalitarianism; Same Sex couple parental rights at risk; and the two idiot Tennessee Republicans who want to rename "John Lewis Way" after Donald Trump.

C-Block (31:15) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Guiness (32:15) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: I was actually asked on a New York street yesterday what the greatest thing my father ever said. So I had to explain. And explain how it then wound up coming out of Jeff Daniels' mouth on the 7th Episode of HBO's "Newsroom."

Eyes & Teeth - Season 5 - Edition 1 - Tom Sutton - "Lost the will to Die"

Tom Sutton is a class comedian. A real Pro who has been there on TV, around the World on the finest Cruise Liners, in Corporates and the Cabaret & Club circuit.
His stories are sublime and although we only worked together once, we have kept in touch ever since. Tom is Topical, slick and very clever in delivery but his writing is fantastic to boot.
He tells some brilliant stories here and I love his meeting with Victor Borge.

Eyes And Teeth - (The Water Rats) "Orkian calling Orson, come in Orson" Kev Orkian talks to Steve Hewlett - Season 4 - Edition 6

Kev Orkian - Where do I start? Kev kindly took some time to talk to me away from his businesses running Howlin Entertainment, The British Pantomime Academy, Jongleurs Group as well as touring the World with his Comedy Stage Show, playing characters in pantomime, talking to Ricky Grover on their spooky podcast "the Goosebumpers",.
I met Kev on a few shows in the past I think just over 10 years ago, one of them at Her Majesty's Theatre London featuring Brian Conley, Sam Kane, Sir Cliff Richard and many more, have a listen to a funny behind the scenes story with Cliff and another with Dame Edna. Kev continues to spread positivity and laughter keeping pro-active more than ever in these strange times we're living through.

    Sex and Slapstick masterpiece.

Directed by Blake Edwards. Starring Dudley Moore, Bo Derek, Julie Andrews, Dee Wallace, Robert Webber, Max Showalter and Brian Dennehy. Music composed by Henry Mancini.

How is the world wrong about this movie?

From Bryan: A rare treat: A fun, fall down comedy for adults. Huge when it came out. Now no one talks about it. What gives? Blake Edwards is one of the great comedy directors and is so much more than just the guy who made the Pink Panther films. This tale about the failures of mid-life crisis masculinity is really, really funny and ready for a revisit.

Ep. #331 - Six Weeks, with Alonso Duralde

We've been wanting to get Alonso Duralde on the show for a while -- not only because he's the senior film critic for The Wrap, and not only because he's the host or co-host of a number of podcasts, including Max Fun's own Who Shot Ya?, but because he literally wrote the book on Christmas movies. So, of course, this holiday season he picked a movie that barely sort of has Christmas stuff in it -- the double-Moore weepie Six Weeks. THANKS FOR NOTHING, BUDDY! (jk - he's a delight.)

    Santa Claus the Movie
It's Christmas, and what better way to spend the day than podcasting about jolly old St. Nick. Matt and Tony revisit 1985's Santa Claus: The Movie. Unlike previous topics, Matt and Tony have both seen this movie before, but it's safe to say it's been about 30 years. It's a holiday "classic" that doesn't get a lot of attention, and it's easy to understand why - this is a very weird movie. They discuss the ambitious ideas they liked, the product placement they disliked, and why John Lithgow is always a treat. And elf puns. There are a million elf puns in this thing.

Starring Dudley Moore as a vivacious Vendegum, The Big Lebowski as Santa, and John Lithgow as the Lex Luthor of the toymaking world, you'll be transported to a time when film-makers thought they could get away with ludicrous notions like giving Santa Claus the Superman treatment (right down to the colon.)
